Hello

so I am currently pregnant with a baby boy and my partner is strongly against getting him vaccinated when he gets here as he believes vaccines cause / increase risk of autism,
especially in boys

id never thought twice about this but now hes put it in my head. Yes ive done my own research but hes saying doctors and the internet will tell you what you want to hear because they want you to vaccinate your kids. Tbh hes a conspiracy theorist

i just want to hear from people who vaccinated their sons and their son didn’t develop it? I know some people will shout at me for this, not my intention to offend anyone

Your partner is an idiot. Vaccinate your child. There is absolutely no link between vaccines and autism

McSpoot · 10/05/2026 07:55

If you think people lie on the internet, why are you asking…on the internet?

Skinnysaluki · 10/05/2026 07:56

Are you really having a baby with such a stupid man?

Jellybunny98 · 10/05/2026 07:58

What qualifications, experience and “research” has your partner got that make him believe he knows better than the professionals?

You say yourself he is a conspiracy theorist- would you also believe him if he told you the earth is flat?

Vaccinate your children.

Meadowfinch · 10/05/2026 07:58

To be honest, I'd tell him not to be so daft, and if he persisted I'd be planning my exit before baby is born. You cannot raise a child safely with an idiot conspiracy theorist. Get out now while you can move wherever you want.easily.

First post nails it.

My son has autism. He has had his vaccines. He was autistic before the vaccines!

rhe diseases we vaccinate against can kill children.

Runningismyhappyplace50 · 10/05/2026 07:59

Your partner is misinformed.

Imdunfer · 10/05/2026 07:59

Your baby's father is grade A pillock.

WhatMe123 · 10/05/2026 07:59

Did you not see the child deaths related to the measles out break recently 🤯 honestly vaccinate it’s safe

mumofb2 · 10/05/2026 07:59

alot of people think this so it’s not unusual for him to suggest it. For me the research leans towards genetics. I don’t personally agree with the vaccinations, I think some of them are needed but there are outdated (personally)

dont worry yourself right now about it. Enjoy your pregnant you have plenty of them yet to decide.

Perfect28 · 10/05/2026 08:00

Why on earth are you having a baby with a conspiracy theorist? This idea was debunked multiple times and is from a discredited source nearly 40 years ago.
Concerning

Oncemorewithsome · 10/05/2026 08:00

I have an autistic child and I vaccinated. I also have non autistic children and vaccinate them too. My child is autistic because all their grandparents are undiagnosed autistic. It’s genetic. Whatever baby is going to be will already be the case. Protect your baby ND or NT from nasty illnesses and get them vaccinated.

GranolaBaker · 10/05/2026 08:00

(figures are approximate uk rates)

around 2.6% of boys have autism, 97.4% do not.

around 91% of boys are vaccinated

So approximately 88.6% of the entire boy population are vaccinated AND do not have autism.

so you want to hear from the vast majority of MNers who have vaccinated sons without autism?

but I second what PP say. There’s no link.

Why on earth have you chosen a conspiracy theorist to have a child with? He is batshit. This theory was debunked ages ago.

TwisterSpice · 10/05/2026 08:02

Jesus Christ. People like your boyfriend shouldn’t procreate. Vaccinate your child ffs. And bin your boyfriend.

Sayitwithasmile · 10/05/2026 08:02

You can't reason with stupid 🤭

Complete nonsense. VACCINATE YOUR CHILDREN. Stop having children if you won’t protect them/others.

lunar1 · 10/05/2026 08:04

Do your own research on what it looks like for a newborn to die of vitamin k deficiency.

PinkStarJumps · 10/05/2026 08:04

My sons have both had their MMR jabs and didn't 'get' autism from them. Proof enough?

Andrew Wakefield's research has long been discredited, it was absolute bunkum. Children can and do die of measles. Someone I knew as a child was deaf in one ear from measles. Get them vaccinated!

Where did you get your medical degree?

lottiegarbanzo · 10/05/2026 08:05

Your partner wants to endanger your child’s life. You need to think about whether you want to give someone like that parental responsibility, so power over your child’s life. You’re not married so you don’t have to and it is your choice.

Take a look at the possible effects of each of the diseases that are vaccinated against.

If your baby is going to be autistic they already are, you can’t change that.

Blueuggboots · 10/05/2026 08:05

The father of your child is a moron. HTH

Can he explain why all doctors would want you to vaccinate your child if that was not the best thing for them? They have access to the data, the medical evidence and studies. Does he think these things are made up? By who, for what purpose? Why would every doctor be in on it? You can also access medical evidence by the way, via peer reviewed journals. Please do not access medical evidence by tiktok videos which fail to identify sources or use them incorrectly. If vaccines caused autism, surely most people would have autism?

IwouldifIcouldreachit · 10/05/2026 08:05

No vaccinations might = dead or really sick baby.
