Vaccines = autism?

Hello

so I am currently pregnant with a baby boy and my partner is strongly against getting him vaccinated when he gets here as he believes vaccines cause / increase risk of autism,
especially in boys

id never thought twice about this but now hes put it in my head. Yes ive done my own research but hes saying doctors and the internet will tell you what you want to hear because they want you to vaccinate your kids. Tbh hes a conspiracy theorist

i just want to hear from people who vaccinated their sons and their son didn’t develop it? I know some people will shout at me for this, not my intention to offend anyone

OP posts:

Way too many comments for me to read on this great day lol sorry but I can’t spend all day reading these from angry women lool

weve made the decision NOT to vaccinate our son when he’s here and my mind won’t be changing. I won’t be reading any comments on this post now but feel free to keep sending for others that may want to read lol

have a blessed day! :)

So you just asked the question for no reason and never had any intention of protecting your child? Make sure you keep them away from nursery’s and school as they will pick up all sorts and be really vulnerable to deadly viruses. Also they will be a danger to kids and adults that can’t be vaccinated. People that don’t vaccinate their kids should be prosecuted for child neglect.

Guys - chill out, seriously 😂😂

I don’t need medical journals, I just asked simply WHO VACCINATED THEIR SONS and autism didn’t happen. I don’t understand why people are so triggered by this 😂

I vaccinated our son and he didn't develop autism. 2 of my grandsons were vaccinated and are not autistic (and are incredibly bright - not due to the vaccine 😉!). 3rd grandson has been vaccinated, but too early to say how he'll turn out.

Covid is very similar to other respiratory diseases. So there were several vaccines that were already prepared and just needed to be tweaked when COVID became a thing.

Any decent research into the autism- vaccine link would show very quickly that this theory has been well and truly debunked.

Your partner sounds like a conspiracy theorist who thinks big pharma is evil but is still happy to use all other products produced by big pharma and medical science without doing any research into them but for some reason is against vaccines even if that puts his vulnerable child and other children at risk. It’s disgusting behaviour.

Which vaccine was tweaked to make a covid vaccine?

So you never had any intention of vaccinating your child.
You just posted this hoping people would agree with you.
By all means put your child at risk but just remember this when he is in hospital fighting for his life with measles or made infertile because he develops mumps. I hope you are able to explain to him why you ignored all medical evidence and decided to believe some random people on the internet

LoveHearts69 · 10/05/2026 11:24

Two sons, both fully vaccinated. No autism.

My uncle got polio as a young child, nearly died and was disabled from it for the rest of his life. I’m not blind to the fact there may be side effects to vaccines, however I believe the alternative of not vaccinating against deadly diseases is much more risky and frightening.

So you never posted this in good faith in the first instance. I’m therefore going to report your thread.

I hope your son doesn’t get measles, but unfortunately for him he most likely will, due to the prevalence of ill informed and uneducated parents not vaccinating and thereby the amount of vaccinated individuals not reaching the threshold for herd immunity. Given the very high likelihood he’ll get it, I hope he doesn’t end up disabled or worse. Or that he doesn’t get mumps, end up infertile, and blame you.

How will you feel if he’s autistic anyway?

The only person who will suffer is your child so you should be apologising to them not us!

Thats one big roll of the dice with your child's health and life. Good luck to them

Wow, I really hope this was a rage bait troll thread. I hope no one is genuinely this stupid.

Mingou · 10/05/2026 12:28

Trust me, lots of people are exactly this stupid, and much worse

ThisHazelPombear · 10/05/2026 12:29

I’d imagine if a company managed to make a hantavirus vaccine there will be people saying it was a bit quick & refusing it.

Interestingly I had to have MMR as an adult due to working in healthcare and annoyingly developed no autism and am still having to work.

Feel shortchanged tbh. At least mumps got me out of playing Gabriel in the nativity play.

I hope neither your child not anyone else's pays for your stupidity.

everyone SHOULD make an informed decision based on their own personal situation. Everyone else SHOULD refrain from insults and labelling as that is unhelpful.

I see your point

However, having suffered from now easily preventable diseases (with thankfully polio becoming available in time for me) and knowing children damaged by them (including a schoolmate in a calliper from getting polio) it enrages me

Sadly, none of today's parents see what could be if those vaccines weren't available, so some are very cavalier in their attitudes towards them.

VioIetMoon · 10/05/2026 14:09

Theres no evidence to suggest MMR causes autism.
Theres no many studies that failed to provide a link.
I chose to vaccinate my son with all vaccines because id rather him have autism that die from meningitis/ rsv ect
Ive a friend whos baby wasnt vaccinated and died from pneumonia after catching measles quite some years ago, pneumococcal is one of the vaccines given to babies as is measles.
Its specifically the MMR vaccine that people are wary about. while most children recover fine , some children are extremely ill and unfortunately die.
Read the statistics. 1 in 20 children who catch measles for example develop pneumonia and require hospitilaztion. And 1 to 3 in every 1000 develop brain swelling.
I know many children, whom boys all vaccinated , no autism and I know some boys who werent vaccinated and have autism and vice versa .. so ?

Wow, I really hope this was a rage bait troll thread. I hope no one is genuinely this stupid.

I guess the op didn't think so many people would say yes I vax'd my kid and they don't have autism.
Or that quite a few would say no I didn't vaccinate them and they still have autism

And without meaning to be rude (and since she says she's not coming back), she doesn't give the impression of being educated beyond compulsory level. So she's vulnerable to an opinionated partner browbeating her with his half baked internet theories.
Maybe once the baby arrives she'll realise she'd do anything to protect them, and feel able to stand up to her partner and choose vaccination. Who knows?

But ironically, the more successful vaccination is, the less experience people have of the diseases we vaccinate against, and the more they feel vaccinations are just some weird box ticking exercise that aren't really important and have some vague internet controversy hanging over them.

EstherGreenwood63 · 10/05/2026 14:53

Pity the baby. Thick as mince and proud of it. Or. Hairy hands. Let us hope it's the latter. lollllllllllłollllollllllollllllllooolllllllll.

Which vaccine was tweaked to make a covid vaccine?

A very quick search says it was tweaked from the MERS vaccine (Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome).

What a surprise that OP has made a decision to not vaccinate her child. Obviously, based on this thread where many, many people have confirmed no link between vaccines and autism, however have given multiple accounts of deaths and disabilities from not having vaccinated.

I wouldn’t feel sorry for her either. I don’t see she’s being coerced by her partner having read her replies with laughing emojis. She was clearly here to wind people up.

WhatMe123 · 10/05/2026 15:08

Just come back to see the thread….ops decided against vaccination I see 🙈🙈🙈🙈 that poor child 😬😬 I’m actually quite shocked that people still refuse baby vaccinations with meningitis and measles etc doing the rounds

WearyAuldWumman · 10/05/2026 16:03

I'll add that my husband's grandchild missed some of their vaccinations because the parents - apparently - made a mistake. (They had the first round, but missed the second.)

The result was that at the age of 19, the grandchild caught the mumps at uni and missed lectures. (Apparently, there was quite an outbreak, thanks to the fact that many parents had decided against giving their offspring the MMR jab.)

I wonder how those parents will feel if it turns out that their sons have fertility problems.

loislovesstewie · 10/05/2026 16:12

My sister caught mumps as a child, this was before the MMR vaccine. Her ovaries were affected. She has no children. I had mumps and I was really ill for 2 weeks. They are serious illnesses.

I knew that it was a serious illness, but I genuinely didn't realise that it could affect female fertility. I'm so sorry.

It's just occurred to me that only one of my mother's siblings didn't have children - the one sister who had mumps as a child.

loislovesstewie · 10/05/2026 16:35

@WearyAuldWumman I think it's quite rare, people know about mumps affecting the testicles but it can affect other parts of the body and can cause deafness too. Unfortunately people have forgotten that lots of these 'childhood illnesses' can cause complications. I think younger people will have to learn the lesson all over again. Sadly.

Niftymum88 · 10/05/2026 16:52

You are born with autism, you don’t just develop it and certainly not via vaccinations

it can. More common for men but afaik t can affect both men and women.
