OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mrsboogie · 24/07/2008 11:49

I'm fine really - fat footed as well but last night and this morning I am being a martyr to heartburn

apart from that and the fact that my LO takes three days off a week from moving or kicking scaring the bejysus out of me each time I can't complain really.

whats your EDD? can't recall from the list. mine's the 18th.

ipanemagirl · 24/07/2008 12:02

Another Empathy rush, my LO is definitely kicking slightly less but I think I read that from now they have less room to do so don't they? I get pushed now but not as much as 3 weeks ago! My EDD is the 14th I think but my notes are not consistent!

Just started antenatal yoga and don't feel remotely Gwyneth Paltrow I must admit! How's your LO doing today?

the HEARTBURN!!!!! It's just starting to kick in really badly. I'm almost not eating an evening meal and just grazing after 6, that makes it better for me. I am even taking the odd Rennes, they say that's ok when pg so I hope it is! I try not to take anything at all if possible.

empathyhug from Hobbitfeet over here!!!

mrsboogie · 24/07/2008 12:29

well last night was his first night back in full throttle so he's kicking away now. so I can breathe easy for a while;)

I do tend to eat late (fall to sleep when I get in from work and don't start dinner til 8 or 9) and can see that might have to stop for a while ... I was planning to get some gaviscon tablets at lunch time - apparently they are ok also. I haven't needed to take as much as a single paracetamol so far in pregnancy but the heartburn must be defeated !!

jeanjeannie · 24/07/2008 13:09

Afternoon...sweaty isn't it!

Well, just been to the farm...what a joke...I'm never going out with 2 under 2 again... Both screamed...Iris refused to walk anywhere and then stole...and ate her little friend's sandwich. She is in the dog house now !

HUGE sympathies to all you preggers ladies...especially with only a few weeks to go. Heat and pregnancy is not a winning combo.

mrsboogie I've got a Tomy carrier...but I would say it was quite limited and there are better out there. I love the look of the Baby Hawk....but it's too pricey when I've aleady got one. But they are seriously gorgeous and very cool.

ipanemagirl · 24/07/2008 13:32

Just CRAVING carbs and sugar

Lunch" 2 x pitta breads and hummus
banana
one AMORE (sigh) black cherry yoghurt
one flake!
One decaff tea.....

why didn't I make an effort and make a SALAD!

jeanjeannie · 24/07/2008 14:09

ipanemagirl I went a whole nine months on carbs! Paying for it now though....8 weeks after DD2 and am already looking at the stepper. Mind you I am just looking....haven't actually stood on it yet

You didn't make a salad....cos they're no fun at all!

ipanemagirl · 24/07/2008 14:29

Thanks for the empathy jeanjeanie! always better to know you're not alone!

johnworf · 24/07/2008 15:28

Hey there ipanemagirl. LTNS. How are you doing (apart from the obvious big bump!)

Seems you, mrsboogie and myself would have been all due around the same time. I'd like to say I'm not feeling fat today but I am Praps because I need to lose weight.

I received a letter today from the endocrinologist who has now discharged me as I no longer have diabetes (for the moment). It read "........she will try and adhere to her healthy eating plan to control her weight and to maximise her exercise. She understands she is at increased lifelong risk of developing type 2 diabetes and that she can modify this risk with lifestyle adjustments." Basically I'm fat and need to lose the chocolates and get up off my lardy arse. I think that's it roughly translated. Ah well, that letter is enough to make me eat another cornetto

I really would like to lose some weight but I can resist anything but temptation

kaz1967 glad that kez is piling the weight on. Good girl See? All that munching on you is paying off!

ipanemagirl · 24/07/2008 17:31

Hello johnworf!

I'm fine but I have my

GRANDMOTHER'S ANKLES TODAY!!!

A mother at the school gate made a sharp intake of breath and said "How long have they been like that!?!?!?!"

Am I alone?? It seems to be the very hot days that makes 'em swell!!!

mrsboogie · 24/07/2008 19:41

ipanemagirl - you are sooo not alone! The hotter the day the worse mine get.

and as for walking... forget about it...

johnworf · 24/07/2008 21:02

OOOOOOOh hot weather and big bumps don't go! I'm sooooo glad that I'm not still pregnant in a funny kinda way.

I remember when my youngest son was born during the last week of July and it was really hot and I remember lumbering around like an elephant looking for a watering hole and everything was puffy Spent all the labour with a fan on me as I sweated him out...I did! He popped out of a pore...honestly guv! Actually he's the one who ripped me a new arse but I like first version better

Huge sympathies to all you hot and bothered mummies to be. Get your feet up or soak them in a bowl of cold water or both but not at the same time as that would be a Morecambe & Wise sketch

Kaz1967 · 24/07/2008 21:39

well tonight small child has eaten too much and given her self tummy ache it took me ages to persuade her she did not want to eat and at last she is up my top with her bum on the desk head on boobs snoring she has been munching on and off since about 4pm

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 24/07/2008 23:07

Awww sounds v cosy Kaz

hope all is going well at your friend's place?

jeanjeannie · 25/07/2008 08:56

kaz what a fab analogy...love the idea of your boobs being the desk sooo cute.

Verity has given all-day eating binges a bit of a break - thank goodness. I never knew they fed so much!

jw what a vivid imagination you have...I looked at my horrid open pores in the mirror last night and you labour popped into my head Perhaps you should write kids books - they love being grossed out!

What, oh what can I do with the pair of them today...??? Suggestions gratefully recieved!

johnworf · 25/07/2008 09:14

jeanjeannie interesting you should say that about kids books. My DSS loves it when I make things up and tell him. He's usually in fits of giggles as it's always naughty 'poo-willy-bum-face' stuff

Suggestions for today are get the paddling pool out or water gun and let Iris squirt you (but not LO naturally). I'm sure that bubs isn't too fussed about what the day holds as long as there is a clean nappy and a tummy full of milk somewhere along the way.

I'm trying to remember what mine loved when they were little and as I recall it usually involved make your own playdoh (in vivid colours using food colourings), cooking (very messy), finger painting. Hope you have an apron to hand............

Kaz1967 didn't know that BF babies will guzzle until they were overfull. Aww what a horrid thing for Kez having tummy ache and in this heat too Poor thing. Hopefully she'll have slept it off by now and be ready for another milk sesh

I'm off to see special K in her new suite! Yep, she's in her very own room. However, I think it's more of a precautionary measure against MRSA. Sort of like being in quarantine. Fantastic idea really. St Mary's just bunged them all in the same room together and crossed their fingers. I think that when her swab results come back then she'll be put in with the other babies...all 1 of them! Well it is a small unit

pwcbird · 25/07/2008 10:04

Morning all,
It's my birthday today. I'm 41! There, I've said it! I feel like I'm at an AA meeting... My name is PWCbird and I'm.... a 41 year old!

Been mad last few days - went out yesterday and dh off today so going out again so not much time to catch up but will read all later.

Ding dong - door just gone so have to dash...LORKS!
xx

jeanjeannie · 25/07/2008 10:13

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
I WOULD HAVE SENT 41 ROSES
BUT...WELL...YOU JUST LOOK SO YOUNG I COULDN'T BELIEVE I'D NEED THAT MANY....

OK, so it doesn't scan and needs a little work...but hey, it's the thought eh!

Have a lovely day - what you doing/did? And what pressies fell into your lap?

41...if only....43 in Sept.....

jw I like to think of Princess Katherine in her own suite....perhaps you could pop her name on the door...stamp her mark!

Off to shops with the monkeys...wish me luck!

hedgepig · 25/07/2008 11:42

Happy Birthday to youooooooooo

A magical birthday cake should have appeared in your fridge, it's magical properties is that it what ever flavor you fancy when you cit a slice.

JJ suggestions for today are sit in a fridge, but what ever you do don't go to lego land we nearly died yesterday and actually spent more time on the M25 getting there and back than we did at lego land. Had a nice day but it was so hot. bens favorite bit was........... you guessed it THE SHOP arggggg. I used to work in a seed labe and they had walk in -20degC freezers for storing the seeds, that would be so nice on a day like today.
ipanemagirl is this the same mother making these comments to you? she sounds like the sort of person you don't want to be stranded on a desert island with.

ipanemagirl · 25/07/2008 12:03

HAPPY BIRTHDAY pwcbird! Hope ur having a lovely day!

Hedgepig, that mother is so observant it's scary!
But have just been swimming which has made the ankle go down a bit. Oh but to see the terrible swelling even this morning straining at the Birkenstocks, not a good look! I'm wearing long linen trousers today down to school so they can swish around my ankles and camoflage the horror. But swimming was so good today the pool was so cool and it's great to be weightless and feel non-heffalump for a bit.
Hope all are well! Empathy to fellow waddlers! How you mrss boogie?

mrsboogie · 25/07/2008 12:14

hi all

Happy Birthday pwcbird!! Hope you have a lovely one.

I'm good so far ipanemagirl - having the day off - so got up at 10am (was awake late with painful ligament/stretchy feeling all around bottom of tummy )and its cool indoors so the ankles are still about as svelte as they can get. The linen trousers sound a very good plan

Off to the hairdressers at 2 though and it looks hot as hell out there...desperately need hair doing now - it will be only my third time since Jan. Torn between wanting to stay indoors in the cool and wanting nice hair...

Think I'll just hop on me bike and away...

jeanjeannie · 25/07/2008 12:37

Thanks for all your advice. So far we've run around the shopping centre and now we're back and both are snoozing. Next it's the park.....then Daddy will be home and he can take over

hedgepig I would go and sit in the fridge - but only in pwcbird's one - cos it's got the cake in there!

jeanjeannie · 25/07/2008 12:37

twice....why?

johnworf · 25/07/2008 13:36

jeanjeannie's obviously excited (doubly excited?) at the prospect of OH taking over entertaining the LO's

Either that or the cake in pwcbird's fridge

Money is on the cake....

HAPPY B'DAY DEAR pwcbird. 41 is great but 42 is fabulous darling

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/07/2008 22:28

Excuse the slight hijack ladies, but just discovered that johnworf is on this thread, and spotted your post about being confirmed diabetes free - yay! Hope that Katherine is doing ok? You're welcome to pop over to the GD thread for a chat any time you like - it's been very quiet since you left, and I have no-one to compare the carb content of loaves of bread with any more!
