FloriaTosca · 11/07/2008 19:12

Truly fantastic news! I second PWCBirds suggestion that we break out the babycham and celebration cake...keylime pie being cut into as we speak. Congratulations!I'm so thrilled for you JW

jeanjeannie · 11/07/2008 19:21

Special K delivery for being such a clever girl

Those pics are yummy johnworf and, I've had a good look, tugged my forlock, furrowed my brow and looked quizzically into space....and, I'd say that there was a definate hint of red hair there

Why thank-you pwcbird I like to fink my taste is somewot refined I went into a cake-fenzy a few months ago when it was announced that Patisserie Valerie was coming to High Wycombe...but it turned out to be just a rumour. Gutted I was, but I now know it's for the best.....I'd be HUGE.

jeanjeannie · 11/07/2008 19:24

Floriatosca KEY LIME PIE!!! How could I've forgotten that one?! Oh - I've seriously driven from Miami to Key West to get my mits of a good one !

Yes, yes....babycham....definately....or,er, could I actually have a Lambrini? Cos Lambrini girls just wanna have fun

johnworf · 11/07/2008 21:57

Woot! Babycham But I don't drink so I'll chink my diet coke to you ladies and says a hearty 'chin chin'! To celebrate I'm buying as much Boden stuff for myself from Ebay. But shhhhhh don't tell DH...I'm already in trouble for buying a rather expensive Toby Tiger pram blanket last night...meh!

Thanks for confirming the reddiness in her hair jeanjeannie - and eyebrows. DH cuddled her tonight and says she's a deffo ginger nut

I like profiteroles but even just saying the word adds inches to my hips and makes me drool like a teething baby

We live very close to the shop that made the Rooney's wedding cake and their cakies are heavenly...I dare not even pass their shop as I'm fat enough.

I missed all the cake talk I see...

Johnworf - love the new pics - I spied a teeny weeny lickle ginger eyebrow

pwcbird · 12/07/2008 08:44

fortified I FORGOT ABOUT LEMON MERINGUE PIE. Oh I die. You have done me in.

This is the Weekend Of Building New Shed. DH is already in the garden dismantling and getting rid of all the c*ap that is located behind shed. When I mentioned that he was treading mud into the carpet indoors and to be careful he v. grumpily replied 'well you'll just have to expect that' . Ahh me.

johnworf · 12/07/2008 09:38

I cannot believe how elated I am this morning. I have just been told by the hospital that Katherine has not only managed 5 hours off CPAP in the night (this is additional to her 3 hours off in the afternoon), but also moved to Room 2!! She is now officially out of intensive care and into SCBU/high dependency. Now she can be transfered to the local hospital next week when it has been arranged and a bed is free!

Next step is home (although I realise we'll have to wait a few weeks for this one)

Lemon meringue pie is up there with boils and syphillis for me...it's horrid. Any meringue is horrid I do love creme brulee though and forgot to put it on my list. Oh Bum.

mrsboogie after comtemplating taking in a brown felt tip to colour in Katherine's eyebrows, I have decided against it. I'm sure the red will grow on me Did I mention I gave her a wee dummy yesterday in hospital (they provided it)? She looked like Maggie out of the Simpsons she was sucking that hard

Fortified looking at your list, I'm amazed that I ended up in the top 3 when really I should have been half way down the list at least, of ladies who deliver. Scary!

If anyone knows of website/shop where I can buy cut price Katvig, Molo, Ej Sikke Lej or any of the other Scandinavian clothes please share with me! I've bought second hand so far as I can't bring myself to part with £20 for a babygro.

mrsboogie · 12/07/2008 11:57

fantastic news jw - its great that she doesn't have to be weened off the CRAP slowly but in great chunks and brilliant that they think she is nearly ready for the next level of care down - rather than being pushed out when a sicker baby came in. (not that she's sick IYSWIM)How much closer to you is the local hospital?

Afraid I have never even heard of these shops you speak of - what are they?

jeanjeannie · 12/07/2008 20:59

johnworf Excellent news...you must be cock-a-hoop Room 2 eh....onwards, upwards and outta there!!!

I LOVE scandinavian kids clothes...just so far removed from pink fluffy floral stuff...adore the mad prints. DP bought a long sleeved body for Verity last week...by Lindex...it's bonkers...dark orange with a huge 70s style flower on it and striped sleeves Had a look through various sites - there's 15% off stuff (Katvig / ej sikke lej.. etc) at cowsaysmoo.com can't see much el cheapo anywhere else though

Going stir-crazy...rubbish weather prevents fun outdoors....boo hoo! Hope everyone is having a nice weekend x

johnworf · 12/07/2008 21:38

mrsboogie the shops are makes of kids clothes that as jeanjeannie so elequently put, are that little bit out of the ordinary. Trouble is they can be a bit on the pricey side but they are really funky. Shall investigate suggested website.

Nearest hospital is some 4 miles away and easy to get to as opposed to where she is now which is 11 miles and across manchester city centre so the traffic is awful. I've been told tonight that they're going to start ringing the local hospital from tomorrow onwards for a bed but there was no point ringing today as they knew for a fact that local hospital was closed for admissions i.e. full. So it's just a waiting game really.

This weather really is crap. Can't believe it's middle of July...seems more like September. No wonder your LO is fed up jeanjeannie. Even I'm fed up with it!

mrsboogie · 12/07/2008 23:14

Well that should take some of the pressure off jw.. hope she gets sorted soon.

I will investigate these fancy-sounding shops, mumsnetting doesn't have put you in the know

Fortified · 13/07/2008 00:37

Fantastic news about Special K's promotion to Room 2, johnworf. She looks lovely in the photos - I think her hair looks auburn. I have this slightly odd mind association thing with the word "auburn" and always think of Audrey Hepburn. So auburn = glamour, charm, style etc.

johnworf · 13/07/2008 09:45

Fortified what a lovely word association I hope she is half as beautfiul as Hepburn was. Yep, her hair is def auburn/strawberry blonde though as I've checked it out...several times!

mrsboogie you can try here if you want to have a look at those brands of clothing But be warned, they are on the expensive side hence my request for info on cheaper websites etc....

Kaz1967 · 13/07/2008 22:08

Hello everyone just a few mins to myself and Put a few pics of Kezzy on profile

OP posts:
Kaz1967 · 13/07/2008 22:13

johnworf just sneaked a look at Katherine's latest pics she is really filling out beautifully

OP posts:
Fortified · 13/07/2008 23:11

Kaz, she is lovely! Congratulations again.

johnworf · 14/07/2008 07:15

kaz1967 I looked at your pics on Facebook and she is scrummy! I love the action shots

Hope you are getting yourself back to normal and into the swing of all things baby.

Yep, Katherine is filling out a bit although the pics are a little deceiving in that she is quite small still. Give her time and I'm sure she'll catch up!

FloriaTosca · 14/07/2008 08:34

johnworf Yet more champagne and cake news! How fantastic! I hope Fairfield gets a free bed asap I know only too well what pinta that trek into Manchester is....I'll definately be drinking to then end of that for you when it happens. It is so wonderful that Miss Hepburn #2 is progressing so fast.

kaz Keziah is gorgeous...what wonderful photos...I absolutely adore the one in where she is snuggled inside the blue shirt ..ahh!

We have had a sleepless weekend;"sir" is teething poor darling but boy oh boy does he let everyone know it! Hope you all had a nice one.

pwcbird · 14/07/2008 09:00

Oh Kaz Keziah is beautiful. Made me go all gooey and yummy to look at them. She's a dreamboat.
Are you Kaz L on jonworf's facebook? Can I poke you?
jw your little Katherine is a star and another beautiful babe. This is making me go all fuzzy and peachy.
I've still 2 weeks to go til my anomoly scan (I'll be 22+1 by then) and am aching to get there and know all is well. Seeing all these glorious babies is making me yearnful.

jeanjeannie · 14/07/2008 10:39

kaz Keziah is absolutely gorgeous...well done you! The pics are lovely ...and, in baby parlance I'd say, 'she's a real belter!'

Oh pwcbird...do hurry up - have we really got another 2 weeks to wait until a scan piccie!!!!

floriatosca we have 'madame' teething here. Oh I'd forgotten about teeth and that she still had some to come... She's caused more fuss these last few nights than Verity!

It's sunny - we're off the the park...hoorah!

pwcbird · 14/07/2008 12:44

I know jeanjeannie it's a jolly bore having to wait so long for the scan.
Weather so glorious I am washing everything in sight and getting it on my line. Hurrah!

mrsboogie · 14/07/2008 13:54

hello all

kaz - she's a wee beauty - you must be so proud

just packin' for my trip to that London this evenin' - sigh could so do without it. too warm.

johnworf · 14/07/2008 14:06

mrsboogie are you running away from home to the big smoke where the streets are paved with gold....or was it dog poo?

OOoh pwcbird scan pics! hurrah! I'm sure all will be well. I'll be keeping fingers and toes crossed for you Doesn't it seem such a long time ago (I'm directing this at those of us who have popped already) that we were fretting over scans and tests etc? I was looking at Katherine the other day and remembering all the hoohah and worry about Downs etc and I suddenly caught myself and thought 'what a silly Lisa you are' But I guess it comes with the territory.

kaz1967's little one is a corker and those pics are fabulous of her. You've really caught the moment there kaz. I'm sure they're all good to go when she's bringing her first b/f home and you're embarrassing the life out of her

jeanjeannie teething? Oh no! I forgot about those things that happen when you're already on your knees with tiredness Let me see, tantrums, teething, ear infections, nappy rash........oh heck, there's loads I forgot in the 17 year gap. Damnation! Memory is frazzled

mrsboogie · 14/07/2008 14:43

I am aye, unfortunately

all that teething/ ear infection/ unexplained diarrhea type malarky still seems a million miles away for me...

even distant memories don't help for some things - when my son was a baby he had a very handy trick of sleeping round the clock when he was teething. He once slept for 24 hrs (I was only 19 and hadn't a clue about babies so didn't think to wonder whether there might be something odd about this) and then stood up in his cot bright as a button with a new tooth. No rash, no crying, no runs, nowt.

Mind you, the downside is that his sleeping habits haven't changed much in the intervening years...
