Johnworf I remembered you said you wanted some slippers for your birthday - so when I saw these I just couldn't resist. I just know you'll be able to carry them off

Click heels together and make a wish Enjoy your birthday chuck xx

pwcbird · 06/07/2008 12:57

Dearest JW, courtesy of cbeebies (which I know you don't watch so won't be relevant but... errr.. thought it might be nice)

Happy, happy, happy, happy, birthday to you,
Have a happy day today.
Everybody here wishes you a happy birthday,
Have a happy day today!
Are you one, are you two, are you three, are you four?
Are you five, six, seven, or maybe more? ()
CBeebies (Pwcbird) wishes you a happy birthday with lots of birthday cards through your door.
Happy Birthday!

Have a lovely day with all your family around you and such great news about Katherine

jeanjeannie weather here also grim though making DH take me shopping in a mo as my birhthday in a couple of weeks and as he is similar to JW's with his choices I am going to choose something FABULOUS that he can purchase.

FloriaTosca · 06/07/2008 14:15

Johnworf Happy Birthday!!!! What a fabulous pressie from Katherine..she'll be waltzing with you in no time! And Happy Paper Anniversary too....I hope your day gets better and better!

pwcbird · 06/07/2008 22:35

I'm exhausted from the tennis. EXHAUSTED! Wasn't it good though. Blimey!
That's all. Going to bed now.
Night night.
x

FloriaTosca · 07/07/2008 08:28

pwcbird....I was right there with you with the tennis last night....utterly amazing match....I was so sad for Roger...though admit to being somewhat biased towards the Swiss because my Dh is part Swiss and looks a bit like Rogers (older, shorter, fatter) cousin (if you squint a bit )..(well a girl is allowed to dream isnt she?)...and I don't care for Nadals semi-permanent sneer but he did work phenominally hard for that win last night and overcame dissappointments that would have crushed other players so I shouldn't begrudge him his victory..

johnworf · 07/07/2008 09:00

Good morning ladies!

Thank you for all of your birthday wishes Most wonderful. And for the rendition of the Cbeebies song (wish I knew the tune!) and for the ruby red slippers. Fantabulous My children did get my just what I requested i.e. garden plant (lovely) and some slippers. However the slippers are leopard print mules so I think they've confused me with Bet Lynch or someone of that ilk. Still, I'll wear them with pride unless we have visitors then I shall stash them behind sofa

Well yesterday was a bit hectic; the children and their OH's landed and we went for a late lunch - not brilliant food but we all had a great laugh - even DSS behaved I visited Katherine, conspicuous by her absence, after the meal in the evening and we had a jolly old time together. She's almost looking like a real baby now..

jeanjeannie how posh are you, going to the Henley Regatta? Is your second name(s) Farquarson-Smythe perchance??! No regatta here just monsoon type rain and weather man told me today it's here to stay for the next 2 days

I've got my fasting blood test this morning so no more chocolates for breakfast today. Also seeing this counsillor this morning so will let you know how it goes.

pwcbird · 07/07/2008 10:51

Good luck johnworf with counsellor - hope it goes well.

We are swimming in all this rain. Apparently it's going to rain all week. Groan.

mrsboogie · 07/07/2008 12:41

afternoon all

Having a day off today - weatherman told me same thing as JW.

Must be nearly time for another photo eh johnworf?

disneystar · 07/07/2008 12:56

mrsboogie · 07/07/2008 13:04

disneystar - no, I don't think Kaz has posted again. I was wondering abut her too.
Well, good luck and I hope it all goes well for you and Samuel. Will be thinking of you brave lady xx Don't forget to let us know how you both are when you get a chance.

hedgepig · 07/07/2008 13:32

Good luck tomorrrow Disneystar I hope it all goes well and you will be home as soon as possible with Samuel.

jeanjeannie · 07/07/2008 13:48

disneystar...fingers crossed for you & Samuel - being calm can only be a good thing for both of you....check back in with us when you can xx

Hope all went well this morning jw and yes...I'm dead posh me...I stink of class...real name is Araminta fortesque-Mountbatten the third...with knobs on. I'm teaching Iris to say, "Daddy, daaddy, I want a pony and I want one NOW!"

floriatosca All I kept thinking of watching the tennis yesterday was that if you squinted it looked like Quentin Tarantino playing a long-haired David Platt !

WET! wet...and thrice WET! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

mrsboogie · 07/07/2008 13:57

I don't mind wet - wet is better than HOT!!

jeanjeannie · 07/07/2008 15:14

Well yes, tis true mrsboogie hot is wrong when you're preggie. But when you've got a double buggy and a 20 mnth shreiking to go out...I'd happily banish the rain in favour of global warming! We were all soaked walking across a car park this morning

mrsboogie · 07/07/2008 15:44

I wouldn't be too impressed meself if I was cycling home from work this evening

pwcbird · 07/07/2008 15:52

Disneystar Good luck for you and LO. Will be thinking of you and looking forward to hearing from you soonest.

jeanjeannie & mrsboogie your discussion of 'hot' v. 'wet' reminds me of my first job when I was a runaround to an Edina/AbFab type and I had to get lunch and she always used to say 'I want something hot and wet' which used to make me smile very much indeed though it went over her head completely (I think she used to mean soup or similar!).

It's stopped raining here and I can't decide whether to chance the washing line. I'm home so can run in and out. Am I mad?? It's so hard to dry this weather. No radiators on, I hate the tumble dryer unless totally necessary. Oh... my life is so exciting with these high-powered decisions I have to make...

jeanjeannie · 07/07/2008 16:08

pwcbird PMSL at 'hot and wet'...did the lady never do 'dry?'.....

My first ever job after college was working for the woman who 'Ab Fab' was based on....!!!! Sad thing is the TV prog was almost toned down. Ah...80s excess and sheer madness. Shame there aren't many characters left like her in business. Although I saw her briefly on 'I'm a Celebrity' and thought...actually, she was quite hard work and annoying!!!

I've gone for the tumble dryer option...it's hail stones and thunder here....sod the 'leccy bill - I've nappies to change, risotto to make, babies to feed.....MN to cruise

johnworf · 07/07/2008 16:42

Yes, I read that the old bird from I'm a Celeb was who Edina was based on. I must say I prefer the charicature rather than the real thing.

Date with counsellor went well. Got a few things off our chest and put a formal complaint in against the nurse who manhandled Katherine last week. Apparently all my mixed up emotions are completely normal (DH didn't look convinced when she said this) for a mum of a premmie. So, I'm normal...finally!!!

disneystar I will be thinking of you tomorrow and sending kisses and hugs to both yourself and Samuel. Looking forward to seeing the snaps of him in his best babygro

Kaz must surely have delivered - or absconded to darkest Peru

I have been wondering if the Indian lady who had her twins last week would be joining our thread just so she can whoop our asses for being the oldest!

Kaz1967 · 07/07/2008 21:46

pwcbird · 07/07/2008 22:41

Wonderful news Kaz. We have been on tenterhooks aching to know. Beautiful name for your lovely girl. Well done no stitches and all that. Top girl!

Fortified · 07/07/2008 23:38

Congratulations Kaz!
Belated Happy Birthday Johnworf, sounds like a good one.
I'm off to see the consultant tomorrow to discuss "mode of delivery". Still haven't made up my mind, so I think I'll probably ask to book a c-sec for about 40 weeks and have a go naturally if anything happens before then.
I found out that one of my NCT friends saw the same consultant last time and really liked him, so that's good news. (My consultant last time was a complete witch who reduced me to tears after every appointment).

johnworf · 08/07/2008 08:52

Wooohoooooo kaz1967 Well done and welcome to little baby Keziah Can't wait to hear all about your birthing experience when you're back on your feet and back home

Hey Fortified. Glad to see you back dear girl. You really need to stand up to these people and not let them push you around. I know it can be hard and that's what we're going through now (albeit it in a different way). Just remember, your baby, your birth, your finger to poke in his eye

hedgepig · 08/07/2008 09:28

Hurrahh KAZ lovely to hear from you and many congratulations on Keziah. Hope you are getting some rest and life is super dooper.
