OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mrsboogie · 04/07/2008 19:46

sorry - last sentence should read - I might stretch it to three glasses one of these days...

hedgepig · 04/07/2008 20:07

all this talk of wine has made me get a craving for a little white wine spritzer. Just popped the wine in the fridge ahhhh.
I have just given my son a bath to the cry of I want daddy all the way through the event, I need drink after that.

pwcbird · 04/07/2008 21:06

Oh yes, don't worry I have allowed myself the odd glass. I tried to stay off completely for the first trimester (though failed at the end). I try to just have a glass a week but think and actually haven't had one since last Saturday so will treat myself tomorrow.
Apparently shellfish is allowed so long as it's 'part of a hot cooked meal' so cold in sarnies apparently not. oh well.

jeanjeannie · 04/07/2008 21:15

Gosh the thread's been busy...got wibbly eyes now from trying to catch up

Well, younger men rock! DP is seven years young....he thinks being 36 next month is traumatic But I'm with disneystar I certainly don't want to look like his mum in a few years I need to lose about 2.5 stone but I won't weigh myself...I just use my clothes as a guide as I think if I knew how much I weighed it would seem an insurmountable target!! I found the Hennes size 10 combats I was wearing when we met 3 years ago.....WAH...they look tiny Back running for me...when I can unhook Verity from my breasts !

hedgepig I've 'facebooked' you back and btw...I found my DP on the internet....made a change from rooting around on ebay!!

Gosh yes, I do hope Kaz is ok...mind you she's also only just moved too...so we're probably the last thing on her mind

JW hope Katherine had a good day.

Ahhhhh, wine, I want wine but breastfeeding means it's a no no....A*se!!

johnworf · 04/07/2008 21:44

Hi ladies,

gosh you lot have been very busy today! Katherine is doing ok today - we're having a good one

My DH is 4 years younger than me but acts like a grumpy old git and he'll freely admit to it!

I don't drink at all (apart from one the other night - it makes me feel crap) and I gave up cigarettes when I found out I was pregnant (apart from the one I had the other night! Meh) I notice that outside the hospital (and prolly other public buildings) there's always loads of people smoking and even as an ex smoker, the smell knocks me sick I don't want to go back to it now...it's a vile habit. I must have used to have stunk of them....yuk.

hedgepig · 04/07/2008 21:51

just finished a Chinese take away and a glass of wine. I feel pretty sleepy now.
JW glad Katherine is having a good day.
night night I must go and extract DS out of my bed back into his own .

mrsboogie · 04/07/2008 23:30

glad to hear all is well johnworf

night all

johnworf · 05/07/2008 08:17

mmmmmm chinese sounds lovely. Not had one in ages - well before I got pregnant. Never too sure if all that MSG is ok or not. On my eldest daughter it was all I could eat, so much so that my mother commented that she'd look chinese when she was born...and bizarrely, she did

It's my birthday tomorrow so we're off out for a splendid lunch with all the children plus their OHs. Nothing I particularly desire this year apart from Katherine getting bigger/better/coming home and a new pair of slippers Oh, and this grey in my hair sorting out....

....which brings me nicely onto having my hair coloured. I've delayed this due to pregnancy/breastfeeding. But now it seems my milk is dwindling (no matter, the freezer has at least a months supply, prolly more) so I'm going to book an appointment in the next 2 weeks when I stop expressing. I soooo cannot wait !!!

pwcbird · 05/07/2008 09:04

morning all,
have been allowed a lie in this morning until 9.00 and feel lovely for it. Have just facebooked you hedgepig hope that's ok.

All this talk of food Funnily enough I don't usually rave much about chinese but since being pregnant have actually wanted to eat it a bit. It's just so weird how your tastes change when preggers.

Glad all ok jw - will be sending you felicitanos tomorrow morning.

kaz - where are you lovely?

hedgepig · 05/07/2008 10:29

morning I go to sleep until 8:30 bliss - before children 8:30 would have been an early start it's amazing how your perspective changes isn't it.
Pwcbird i will check face book out when I get a min.
got to go and play transformers now with ds. have a good day

jeanjeannie · 05/07/2008 11:33

Morning all. Oh bliss, I too got a lie in AND Verity only woke once last night...had a HUGE feed and slept again till 7..hurray.

Pleased Katherine is doing great jw oh, how I'd love my hair done. Trouble is with my red hair I worry that any dye job will render me looking like Rita from Corrie Only just started to go a bit grey and I don't like it one little bit You treat yerself luv....cos yer worth it...

JW Hippo birdies 2 ewes for tomorrow....wishing you many fabulous bejeweled slippers x

kaz please pop in to let us know...xx

pwcbird · 05/07/2008 12:13

Oh jeanjeannie I agree with the grey. I've just started and my hair is dark and I love it and am traumatised a) by the fact that there are nasty grey hairs starting to show and in dark hair are so noticable and b) by the two choices I'm going to have to make in the next year or so: dark rinses that I always think look obvious or mixed highlights and ao go lighter and lose my dark hair. It's a terrible thing

On the Corrie front - my best story is that my mum once bought a dress from M&S which we all thought was very nice and then, horror of horrors, Bet Lynch was wearing it behind the bar of the Rovers one day!

And hedgepig... transformers... robots in disguise transformers? You are a good mum and no mistake. DS is only 22 months so not got quite there yet though I know it's only a matter of time....

mrsboogie · 05/07/2008 13:05

mornin all.

eeeek grey hair - I had a bit at the front on top but its spreading of late all around my hairline. I usually get my hair coloured semi- permanent (preggers or not) but last time I went my hairdresser said that my grey had turned into the horrible old lady grey that won't take the colour any more - so next time its a choice also for me between lighter highlights or permanent colour on the grey

and I keep finding grey eyebrow hairs its al downhill from here

In stark contrast to my rapid decline into old age I can confirm that we are already well equipped with Transformer box sets - as my OH loves them and bought the whole set of dvds a few years back. He keeps saying he hopes the LO gets into Transformers and he can't wait to start buying lego sets to play with.

pwcbird · 05/07/2008 14:40

For me - and I know I'm a saddo here - it's all about the final of Dr Who. I can hardly breathe for excitement over tonight's final episode though mixed with anguish over it probably being David Tennant's last. DH and I are utter fans - geeky though it may be. We're having home made pizza tonight so I can prepare in advance and I have bought some rosé wine for my Saturday night glass and short of the house catching fire I shall be transfixed.

You know - once upon a time I think I went out on a Saturday night.... wasn't that what we did....

mrsboogie · 05/07/2008 15:04

dnncha know pcwbird - watching Dr Who is the new going out

I am looking forward to it also although slightly spoiled this season by my OH whinging on about hating Catherine Tate - I'm not too keen on her in the role myself but I am over it. I know the ending is top secret but I am sure that David Tennant is signed up for the next series in 2009.

pwcbird · 05/07/2008 16:34

Well apparently he's supposed to be doing 4 special episodes in 2009 as Dr Who is taking a year off and there won't be a new full series until 2010 (yikes!)but there's all this speculation that he won't and it's all a plot to divert us from the fact he's leaving. The conspiracy theories are apparently endless and, let's face it, it is only a TV show. Then I hear that he will do a new series - so long as the money is right. Who knows. And yes, this does prove I am a Dr Who sad person Sorry to bore all you who don't like/watch it.

johnworf · 05/07/2008 17:57

Well I can confirm that bums will be glued to new sofas tonight when Dr who is on....DSS has been excited since getting up with me at 6am this morning...chattering on about it over b/fast. And we're Sky + it so he can watch it over and over again. (It's an Aspergers thing).

Spent 4 hours with Katherine today and we had BIG cuddles...ooooh yessy. And she did a great big poo for mummy - good girl Then she slept for the rest of the time. We had a big session today (4 hours) so I'm not going this evening and putting my feet up. Milk is still coming but not in such large quantities so I'm not sweating it and just bottling what I can. I came, I expressed, then I err....dried up??

DSS couldn't wait to tell me how many presents/cards him and daddy have bought me for tomorrow Had to stop him in his tracks when he wanted to tell me what they were and how much they cost. Kids just can't contain themselves can they??! Lord only knows what DH has got me. He always gets it wrong (I think it's a man thing unless you're lucky enough to be married to someone in touch with their feminine side or your OH has a gay friend). One xmas I gave him a list of things I like and don't like, my shoe/dress sizes and he still got it wrong. When I put in the NOT LIKE list 'Elizabeth Duke' jewellery...that didn't give him license to buy up half the stock! Vile stuff it is too

So I've just booked a table for us and my kids and their OH's for lunch tomorrow. If you're on facebook, my eldest daughter is the one with the huge tattoo on her back - or the tramp stamp as I call it. I hate it but what can you do when they get to a certain age? She's too old to sit on the naughty step at 22 My sons are on my friends list too; tom and richard

mrsboogie · 05/07/2008 20:46

well I thought that was very good although I expected Donna to die and I thought leaving the second Doctor with Rose was a bit cheesy

enjoyable tho.

Glad you had a good long session with Katherine jw. Hope u get good pressies tomorrow!

johnworf · 05/07/2008 22:05

mrsboogie I was in and out during dr who but DH said it was one of the most bizarre episodes he's watched. Saw the ending and didn't understand what was going on - naturally

I'm sure I'll love my birthday presents; size 6 thong (one that a prostitute would be proud of) and Whitesnake album. Wouldn't you? Just joking but that's the sort of thing I usually get.

mrsboogie · 05/07/2008 23:33

well it was a struggle to follow it while glued to it so you were on a loser there jw

haha - I trust they are joke pressies? I once got given Jodie Marsh's autobiography by OH for a bday pressie - but it was a joke cos he knows I absolutely hate her.

hedgepig · 06/07/2008 07:36

Happy Birthday to you
HAppy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear Johnworf
Happy Birthday to you

johnworf · 06/07/2008 08:34

Yay! Now I am 42 - meaning of life - I'll blow out my virtual candles and make a wish

Thanks hedgepig you have a lovely voice

Prezzies not as bad as anticipated - 3 books (that I actually like) and a huge box of Thorntons continental (my favourite choccies). I'll post one each out to you all Best not eat too many of them as I have a fasting blood test in the morning Bah!

It's my first wedding anniversary too so it's double celebrations today. I got a lovely soppy card from DH. My, he really has pushed the boat out this year. In his own words and I quote "my life would not have been worth living otherwise". Tee hee.

However, I've saved the best present til last; Katherine has put a storming 86 grams on in the past 3 days so now she's 2lb 4oz I'm thrilled now she's a porker. They're thinking of reducing her down from 1 hour feeds to 2 hourly feeds but doubling them. This is to wean her finally to 4 hourly feeding.

waltzes around sitting room with an upturned mop

hedgepig · 06/07/2008 09:18

HIPPO BIRDIE TWO EWES
HIPPO BIRDIE TWO EWES
I SAW A GORGEOUS LADY
AND SHE LOOKED JUST LIKE YOU....

HOORAH! 42.....wooooooh!!! xxxx

Well, all the pressies in the world can't get you a something as good as Katherine and her stupendous weight gain.....clever girl

AND a wedding anniversary too...plus nothing from Elizabeth Duke....you are indeed one lucky lady. Ta for the choccy...Mmmmm

I've had to skim the posts re Dr Who as I didn't see it last night...and I'd have to kill anyone who told me the end. We went to Henley Regatta. We saw a bit of rowing...but mainly watched posh birds with their bums hanging outta short dresses while holding alcho-pops. And fat-lipped boys with flouncy hair staggering about with their public school ties on!!!

The weather is shocking...like a mad monsoon here in Bucks....it's bonkers
