No chance of not making any excuses or sneaking non-alcoholic?

Nursemommy · 30/01/2026 19:03

Hey all! Found out I am pregnant with my second little babe! I’m around 5 weeks based on my LMP and that I know I ovulate early. Extremely bloated and having cramps and slight nausea at times and food aversion to certain things (chocolate - sad times) but nothing terrible. Slight anxiety too but that’s all the hormones! Last time I had HG so really hoping I don’t get that this time as that kicked in week 6/7 last time. Super excited but it is so weird again to not talk openly about it although I’m an A&E children’s nurse so guess work will find out quicker than friends / family and i reckon it’ll sink in a bit more then xx

We’re going to the in-laws for a weekend in early Feb and they’ll know straight away as I won’t be drinking but I’d really prefer to wait until the 12 week scan

You could say your on antibiotics for a urine infection?

Looopylouu · 30/01/2026 19:56

So got some promising news today, had my second drawn HCG today and it has just more than doubled in just under 48 hours. Still not out of the wood yet and go for a scan on Friday!

HampsterCheese90 · 30/01/2026 22:58

I am so bloated. My jeans already don’t fit comfortably. I could pretty much post a bump picture 😂

But hey 3rd baby I guess it goes with the territory.

fourtunate1 · 30/01/2026 23:28

Tentatively joining, had bfp on Monday, not planned so took a little while to get my head round.
Also had a previous ectopic so will need to have early placement scan.

Baby2iscooking · 31/01/2026 07:46

Had really loose stools again today, 3rd time this week! Never had this with my 2 previous pregnancies, has anyone else had this before?
I have a digital test sitting upstairs, I don’t know whether to take today or tomorrow, today my period should be due

Maybe you’re just a bit ill? Or it’s unrelated to pregnancy? If you haven’t reacted like this to the hormones during your other pregnancies.

I’ve been a bit constipated, already having to put effort into eating more fibre. But I haven’t really heard of pregnancy giving people looser stools.

Baby2iscooking · 31/01/2026 10:35

Took digital test this morning! I think I can be excited now!

Joining the thread for solidarity. Have had a positive (okay like seven positives because I keep retesting). Feeling very emotional today. Don't remember the feels coming this early before.

This is a good idea! I was wondering what antibiotic related infection I could have that wouldn’t lead to too many follow up questions

I would definitely say you have a urine infection which is most commonly caused by dehydration

Nursemommy · 31/01/2026 12:46

@Pinnacles i am also extremely emotional today and had a good cry. I do remember feeling emotional/crying more during my first trimester but not sure when it started.

Sophie3003 · 31/01/2026 12:48

Just make sure they are antibiotics you can’t drink on as most you can 🤣

Hahah I know I’m going to have go deep in the research so there’s no holes in the story 😂

Havanalily1806 · 31/01/2026 14:14

Jumping on this thread.

12dpo and had a positive test this morning. Felt nauseous all week I was so sure before the test confirmed it.

This will be my 2nd, DD just turned 2.
had 4 miscarriages before DD so very cautious and seeing how things go.

Litterally just decided to stop preventing but not trying yet, but if it happened it happened… .. and one night is all it took 🙈 .. ovulated 2 days later and here we are..

glasshalffull0 · 01/02/2026 16:08

Is everyone still testing? I’m 16DPO and still testing every day just to triple check 😂it’s driving me insane comparing lines I should probably stop

I’ve taken my last test today (18DPO) after my first positive on Weds (14DPO) - the line was so dark this morning I don’t think I’ll see any further progression. Now I just need to work on keeping calm and letting the fact I’m actually pregnant sink in - which is easier said than done!

Clks98 · 01/02/2026 17:33

Hello! Congrats all. I got my BFP on 24th Jan. Based on LMP I’m approx 5 weeks and due 3rd Oct.

I had extremely light faint spotting for like 5 days last week but test lines have been darkening and my Clearblue test has changed from 1-2 to 2-3. So fingers crossed everything is okay. 🤞🏻 I had a mc in September so really hoping this one works out. ❤️

Symptoms before testing positive were big sore boobs and peeing more. Since then the aching has been on and off, but they remain large! 🤣 I have also been very tired.

HampsterCheese90 · 01/02/2026 19:14

I’ve stopped testing now. I’ve replaced it with browsing early scan appointments 🤣🤣

Think I’ll book one for around 8 weeks, which for me is the week after half term. I’ll probably leave it another week or two until I actually book.

Sophie3003 · 01/02/2026 19:20

Haha I have an NHS scan tomorrow, actually pleased as there was blood after sex last night an although I understand it can be normal, made me a bit unsettled. Also interested to see if I am matching up on dates. I know the date of my last period but my cycles have been so long due to breastfeeding and I couldn’t get a peak just over a week of high fertility when I was testing.

Mamabear256 · 01/02/2026 19:23

I am still testing and am 5 weeks 1 day! Anyone got any nausea etc? I think mine is coming slowly.

Also is anyone still managing to exercise? I can slowly feel my energy decreasing, I’ve managed to carry on as normal (Pilates twice a week and 2 long walks each week) but I realllllly cba with any of it tomorrow!

Babyno21990 · 01/02/2026 19:49

@Mamabear256 good for you for exercising at all 😂 I can’t be bothered but I’ve long days at work and then getting home to three kids is like exercise so that’s my excuse.

im 5 weeks today and feeling a little pain/cramps and also slightly tinged cm more like a brown/light pink. Can’t remember if I’ve experienced this before. Anyone else anything similar?

Looopylouu · 01/02/2026 19:53

I've booked for a private early scan tomorrow, which outs me at 5+3 because im still PUL.

Boobs still tender but all tummy cramps have gone, with the occasional ache if anything.

fourtunate1 · 01/02/2026 20:00

I’m planning to do a digital with the weeks tomorrow and if it goes up from 1-2 to 2-3 then i will stop testing. The line progression has been slow but steady. Definitely darkening lines but no dye stealer yet.
Will also phone EPU to book in an early scan as had a previous ectopic. Think they like to check between 6-7 weeks.
