Yay ILTS!! She is a lovely cuddly bubby - well done you! . Can't believe I am next on the list!?!?? I reckon someone will beat me to it though - babyrain is bound to be late..

rainrain · 29/08/2008 10:35

Good luck MM, hope it all goes well for you today [hug]

ronshar · 29/08/2008 10:55

ILTS Oh my word what a beautiful little girl. I love Brooke as well. I just read your brief birth story. Sounds like a little bit of a let down but Brooke arrived safe and well and you didnt need any interventions. I think that anything other than a home birth is a let down, IF that is what you had your heart set on. Dont shout at me anyone who isnt having a home birth. I know it isnt for everyone.
I just know that if I dont get one this time I will be heartbroken. Which may not be the best way to approach the whole thing but hey ho!

So Easyrider I take it everything is all back in the right places. If you are back in the saddle again!
Goodluck to MM with your scan later.
Hello to everyone else today.

maz32 · 29/08/2008 12:40

gud luck mm, hope all well? keep in touch.we have our scan on mon but we know its prob bad news as have been bleeding for two weeks and on 1st scan was onky sac no heartbeat at 7 weeks, so who knows.xxxxxx

tsom · 29/08/2008 12:48

ILTS Congratulations,she's beautiful.

MM1509 hope scan today was ok, let us know

Things a bit grim here, started to bleed at work y'day lunchtime, burst into tears and went to epu, waited 2.5 hours only to see bewildered junior dr who sat slack jawed at my pregnancy history, asked me if I "had any children" and then told me to come back in 48 hours for a scan. They were too busy before then! Can't believe it, I've had better care from the same unit in the past, things seem really random.
At least the bleeding has (so far) stopped since then and was more brownish spotting than anything.

Have retreated back to my MILs this morning as no cooker, water or (worse) internet at home due to building work.

Have supplies of choc and magazines.

winemakesmummyclever · 29/08/2008 14:00

Hi everyone,

mm1509 - hope all goes ok for you at your scan.

tsom - I am so sorry about the bleeding. Don't know your history, but at the epu for you. 48 hours is such a long time to wait when things like this happen. Hope that things work out ok for you and that you get the care and support you need right now.

Ronshar - how are things with you? Pains settled down yet?

Ds has decided to have a nap, so I am going to unplug the phone and join him. I am still sleeping v. badly. I am a light sleeper anyway, but I am sure the dog was doing the fandango across the landing in the early hours of this morning!

cricri · 29/08/2008 17:55

MM Hope your scan went OK.
tsom Hope the bleeding has not restarted. Brownish spotting doesn't sound serious, but given your history I'm not surprised you panicked at your experience of the EPU - does this mean you have to go along tomorrow morning to be scanned? Hope you managed to relax today and put your feet up at MIL's.
I can't believe I'm number 9 on the list 31 weeks tomorrow!

mm1509 · 29/08/2008 19:02

Hi Everyone,

Well scan was inconclusive today, bean measured at around 5 1/2 weeks so too early to see a heartbeat. According to my dates I should be closer to 6 1/2 but my cycle has been a bit erratic since my mmc and my last cycle before BFP was 35 days so it is possible that I am not a far on as we initially thought. Got another scan booked in two weeks so we should know by then what's happening.
Feeling a little tender after the scan today as the midwife took quite a while during the scan as apparently I had a lot of "maternal matter" so the picture wasn't too clear. She was pretty confident that she could see a yolk inside the sac so hopefully we are just a little to early.
The waiting would almost drive you insane but fingers crossed it will be worth it in the end, if only you cold wish the next two weeks away.
Thanks for all the messages it does really help to talk to people who know the exact emotions you are going through.
TSOM - hope the bleeding does not restart, take it easy until you get your scan and get plenty TLC.

iliketosleep · 29/08/2008 22:12

Have added a couple more pics

Still haven't had chance to catch up properly but i will!!

daisyj · 30/08/2008 09:19

ILTS - she's gorgeous, and what a lovely name. Well done

mm - god, time really seems to slow down, doesn't it? You wish you could just go to sleep and wake up in two weeks. It does sound promising, though. I really hope it works out for you this time.

Oh, the perils of knicker-checking - had I not also been paper checking too, I wouldn't have even noticed the minuscule spot of brown blood that sent me into meltdown yesterday. Anyway, the midwife and EPAU were great and I ended up having a scan within two hours of my phone call, and all was fine. Baby grown a centimetre since 8-week scan 10 days earlier, and now has proper arms and legs (and toes). [massive relieve emoticon]

wmmc - my cat fandagos too. Maybe we could start a novelty act .

maz32 · 30/08/2008 17:03

hi everyone im going for second scan on mon. and we r sure there is nothing left to see? and so just wundering how long people left it b4 trying again, and what do the medics say? how do I relax if i fall again? xx

maz32 · 30/08/2008 18:01

does any one know how long u get a positive pregnancy test even tho u have miscarried? i know everyone will be different i suppose? xx

NattyThomasAndEllen · 30/08/2008 21:41

maz up to 2 weeks is the norm, i got a negative straight away witin hours tho.
we didnt "start" trying again, but having had my coil removed i werent gonna put it back again! i fell straight away, and we only had sex 4 times.
if it helps you are apparently as fertile after a miscarrige as u are after giving birth.

and there isnt alot u can do to help worry less, you will worry, im one of the worst. its just a case of putting u head down, trying not to get excited too soon, and pray you get past the 12 week mark with no hiccups.

hope u feel better soon, and i will pray for a miracle in ur scan tomorrow, they so happen xx

aquababe · 30/08/2008 22:40

Hey Jules/Easyrider glad to see all went well. Congratulations on the little one!

It's really good to see so many familiars from the mc avenger thread,

Currently putting off seeing doctor/mw for as long as possible trying not to medicalise it for as long as possible

daisyj · 31/08/2008 07:51

maz . I don't think you do relax, but I've found it's helped enormously that my GP and midwife have been really understanding about my panics, etc. This has been hugely important to me for its own sake, and because recurrent mc specialist Lesley Regan talks about the huge importance of TLC in positive pg outcomes, which gives me more faith that this time it will be OK. So I think if possible the best thing to do next time you get pg, if all really is over this time, is to be in touch with your GP and midwife as soon as possible so that they can support you when you need it.

If it helps at all, too, on the subject of how quickly you may fall next time, the first time took us 10 months, and the second time only took one. We were really surprised particularly as I am 36 and DS 41 - really does seem that you are more fertile after a pg, whether it ends in mc or not.

I'm not sure how long I was positive for, as I didn't test again or get hcg levels checked, just waited for next af, which took 5 weeks after beginning of mc (I bled on and off for 10 days)

Good luck. xx

Hi aquababe - can't remember if I said congrats earlier. Good to have you here. x

ladyhelen2 · 31/08/2008 09:17

Daisyj thanks for your little message on the MC Avengers thread! Glad to see you are doing well despite the little wobble. Your EPU sounds fanatastically suuportive. I can't beleive you are nearly 10 weeks. 11 weeks is my worry time too so I can guess how you will be feeling for the next couple of weeks or so. I'll keep everything crossed for you.

So I guess I'll return here - still the same thread as when I was last here too!

So, hello (again) everyone. Just got a BFP yesterday so that makes me a great big 4+3!!! This is my third pg this year and the BFP came only one AF after last mc.

sussexoldspot · 31/08/2008 09:44

Hi there, am arriving from MC Avengers armed with chocolate cake, velcro and a 3 day old BFP. Am very new to posting (although an old hand at reading) MN. Just really happy to know there are so many of us in the same boat.

Swaliswan · 31/08/2008 10:48

Morning Ladies,

I've been lurking but not posting for a little while. I've managed to get past the 5.5 week mark when I had my previous mc's (am now 6+3) without any bleeding. I'm still very anxious about my lack of proper morning sickness. I just feel very sick from time to time, especially if I need to eat. It's driving me insane not knowing if I'm going to get as sick as I did with DD or not. I am continuing to get stronger pg symptoms but don't feel peaceful about the pg yet. My next milestone is thursday when I'm 7 weeks and off to see the GP.

cupcakeandtea · 31/08/2008 16:16

Hi

I think I'm miscarrying.

On wed had a small amount of brown spotting. Went to EPU and preg levels were fine and on the scan they could see a small sac so presumed all was ok. Spotting stopped yesterday but today I'm bleeding again. This time it's not spotting but proper blood with brown stuff mixed in. I know this isn't a good sign so I guess I'll have to wait and see if it gets any worse. I've got no cramps but very minor backache. Trying to be sensible about this but in my heart of hearts I know I'm miscarrying.

perkypopsy · 31/08/2008 16:38

Hi cupcake there have been loads of ladies on here who have had really heavy bleeding over long periods - so I am crossing eveything that it is the same for you and that your little bean is safe and well. Hope you are resting up on the sofa with those cupcakes and tea? Big hugs xxxx

SesHasapinkline · 31/08/2008 16:49

Hi! I had a mmc discovered at 12 week scan in April and then in June a ?2nd miscariage or they hadn't done the ERPC fully the first time (no one could tell me )
On Friday evening I got a v faint line on an inernet cheapie and then a line on a FR yesterday morning and then a "pregnant" on a CB digital. (So I think I'm pg again!)
Am v worried though. I don't have any dc yet and there's nothing I would like more. Didn't think I was going to be checking knickers as I never had any bleeding or spotting but this afternoon have had my first rush to the loo to check as I was getting some cramping pains. According to Fertility Friend I'm only 11dpo today so think I was quite lucky to get a BFP on a CB digital so soon. Just makes me worried about CP too though.

AAaaaggghh! I guess we're all in the same boat though which is why this thread is here!

cupcake - sorry to hear about your bleeding. I know it's v easy for me to say but there have been plenty of women who have bled early on and gone on to have a lovely healthy baby 8 months or so later. I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

Hi to everyone else - let's hope we all have sticky beans

kate2179 · 31/08/2008 22:52
NattyThomasAndEllen · 01/09/2008 00:39

welcome seshas goodluck this time, i hope everything goes well.
i jave 2 children and have suffered 2 MC so it is perfectly possible for you to go on and have plenty of healthy children try not to worry. x

sorry to hear about your bleeding cupcake, do let us know how things go tomorrow, hope EPU will do a scan for you xx

dan39 · 01/09/2008 10:50

Well done ILTS she is gorgeous of course!!

Cupcake and seshas - good luck and fingers crossed. I wish there was a magic formula for getting through this bit but I don't think there is...its a bit of a naff 'one day at a time' I fear (pardon the awful cliche)...sending sticky thoughts to you both though..

Easy/Jules - fantastic news on your 'saddling up' already - I thought that sort of thing was off the table for weeks after a birth, must let my SH know that things are possibly looking up!!

I am 17 weeks (ish - they demoted me re dates last week cos 2 neighbouring trusts have diff protocols) and still anxious, just made appt to see lovely GP on Wed purely to hear hb again - it is, after all, 6 days since I last heard it. Someone above said helpful healthcare is good and makes all the difference - this is true and my (new) GP is LOVELY but of course thins is a bit dependent on luck of the draw.

dan39 · 01/09/2008 10:52

DH not SH - I was distracted byt eh whole subject matter!!
