PS Kitty meant to say that I had no chromosomal tests...(karyotyping?) They said it would be on my next pregnancy - and if the result was bad then the inevitable would happen. I personally took the decision not to have the tests done as what was going to happen would anyway, without all the hospital stress and intervention. Luckily all seems to be going well - final countdown!

kittyDug · 24/08/2008 21:09

rainrain I know I think I am stressing myself out too much, I'm a worrier at the best of times anyway so I'm not doing myself any favours, I'll have to relax and if it's meant to be this time it weill be, thanks for the advice and good luck with the last few weeks

scotlass · 25/08/2008 14:48

Oh my goodness I'm still a knicker checker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it - the scan shows a sac, a bean and a fluttering heart and there's no sign of where the bleed came from so she thinks it may have been the neck of the womb.

I'm in shock, I honestly thought it's happened a 4th time. Why can't the time go quicker this is torture

cricri · 25/08/2008 14:55

Scotlass I am so so pleased for you That is wonderful news!
Welcome to all the newcomers too The early days are very worrying at times but wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies. We're here anytime you need support or reassurance.
ILTS Any news yet?

mm1509 · 25/08/2008 16:08

Scotlass - fantastic news it's just put a very big smile on my face.

The time does go so slow and torture is exactly the right word. I am mentally preparing milestones in my head, see a heartbeat, feel a movement hopefully the first on the list can be ticked off on Friday when I get my scan.

So happy for you and at least for today you can relax and enjoy being pregnant and a fully fledged knicker checker!!!!

scotlass - fantastic news. Sooo pleased for you. No better feeling than seeing that heartbeat, is there?

ScaryHairy · 25/08/2008 18:55

Great news Scotlass. I'm really pleased for you.

Natty you're in the same boat as me and I am also a frantic knicker-checker. I hope you're feeling secure enough to join the anta-natal threads in a few weeks.

tsom · 25/08/2008 19:08

no posting recently as no internet access!

scotlass that is great, so pleased - I was so annoyed on your behalf about the epu clerk - well done for getting through the weekend

welcome to all the newcomers, I find it helps to offload worries here - we've all been there and most of us don't know people in RL in the same situation.

not much change here, nausea still faint, maybe will have scan this week

winemakesmummyclever · 25/08/2008 19:29

Hi to everyone and welcome to new knicker checkers!

scotlass - that is fantastic news!

ilts - hope things get going for you soon.

Have had a mixed weekend. Lovely birthday with dh and ds, but have been a bit up and down tbh. My mmc started exactly a year ago today . Still worried but keep tellng myself that the odds are good. Seeing mw next week, then have full booking-in appt a couple of weeks after that. Hopefully will have had some flutters by then, which will be the most reassuring thing ever. So, I'll keep on obsessively knickerchecking for now .

Off to finish watching Grand Designs, then bath and bed for ds and a wee bit of p&q for me and dh with homemade apple pie (thanks dad!).

Hope everyone has had a good break and the return to normality tomorrow isn't too much of a

Swaliswan · 25/08/2008 19:36

Scotlass so for you! (A bit as well

I'm so glad that I didn't find out that I'm pg before 5 weeks as the last few days have been hell. DH has been away and I could really do with consistent and reassuring pg symptoms. They all seem to come and go just to worry me! I'm also getting a bit fed up with a pain on one side of my tummy. It's not bad, more of a niggly thing that is exactly the same as I had when pg with DD (massive corpus luteum was causing the pain then apparently). DH should be back in the next half hour so maybe he'll be able to take my mind off of things.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/08/2008 20:07

wow scotslass. Feeling very for you and I hope things settle down nicely for you now. My SIL bled a lot with her twins until about 20 weeks; turns out she had a bruise between the placents and the wall of her uterus that settled by itself.

Hi to all the newbies, especially Natty (we are on the June 07 PN thread together in case anone thinks it's favouritism ). Feel free to talk away all of you; it's great to have this thread to talk to when someimes those close to us in RL are struggling to understand why we are so upset and worried. Good Luck all

ilts.........I notice no posts from you today ......I'm really hoping that's for a very good reason .

things fine here, but virgil is still head up. When does the MW start to get concerened about breach babies? I'm nearly 30 weeks, so I know there is time yet (DD was breach until two weeks before my EDD, and it wasn't till she was delivered (by CS) that the obs said she had been breach for a very long time given the way she was curled up that I realised the excruciating pains and thunk noise I'd had when rolling over in bed one night must have been her turning). strangely though I didn't worry about it last time as I didn't know, but this time I do so am worried. Makes no sense huh?

anyhoo am just wittering on. Can't believe I'm 30 weeks this week ; time has just flown by this time around!

Scotlass brilliant news!! been away over the weekend ad came home and logged on to see how you were - its so lovely to get good news!!

You are right the timing is hell - but this lot will help you thru when you get scared again. Just try to get from one milestone to the next...

Sending big hugs. And hello to new people - hang in there, sticky bean thoughts to you all.

NattyThomasAndEllen · 25/08/2008 22:28

gosh today has been hard. finding it hard to accept it and get excited, as last time it didnt cross my mind i would lose the baby because i had two successful pregnancies, granted bleeds in both, but babies were fine.
so naturally when i had a bleed i popped down the hospital expecting everyting to be fine, only to be told my HCG was 11 and should be in the thousands by now, and that it was unlikely the baby would survive.
i never even got a scan because my HCG was so so low.
the whole thing was hell, and im spending most of my day stroking my tummy telling my baby to stay put cos i couldnt handle losing another. how do ppl do this time after time? and how do i get through these few week?

gosh, sorry im going on, just that DH thinks im worrying too much, and what will be will be, im getting very little support.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/08/2008 22:39

natty

no expert on hcg levels though (mive have never been measured in any of my mcs/pregnancies, so not sure what this will/might/might not mean.

someone on here will know though, but {hugs}

I'm sure DH is just trying to reassure you, with maybe a touch of manly not knowing what to say thrown in.

Fingers crossed for you

well go in tomorrow for induction so suppose I know that by tomorrow night I will have my baby. Exciting but im scared!!

Hope you are all well

winemakesmummyclever · 26/08/2008 12:32

ilts - doh! I really hoped that your recent absence was due to you dashing off to hospital.

Good luck with everything tomorrow. Get as much rest and eat as much as you can today . Happy birthday to your ds - hope you all have a lovely day with lots of cake .

However, I do have an image in my mind of you zooming around on your ds's bike in an attempt to get things going early . I really should lay off the cheese and get out more !

rainrain · 26/08/2008 12:49

Good luck ILTS - at least the end is in sight!! Can't wait for the news!

scotlass fantastic news

daisy my m/w said they were not concerned about breech until week 37.... so (if that right) you have a while yet...

Hi to everyone else

perkypopsy · 26/08/2008 13:20

Hi Everyone - sos sorry not been posting have been busy at work and no energy once I get home
rainrain have managed to finish on the 12th - 2.5 weeks before EDD (((((((hot, sweaty, swollen, blubbery whale emoticon))))))...am not sure am gonna make it - but fingers crossed I will and all that wonga will help me get my highlights/lip gloss etc in time for the money shot

Hi to all the newbies - is a shit time in the beginning but as each day/week/month goes by and you start feeling the movements and everything - it gets more and more real and exciting (I still have mild pannicks have spoken too soon and something is gonna go wrong - maybe that is just how it will be til mini-pops arrives?)

perkypopsy · 26/08/2008 13:21

p.s. good luck ILTS soooo exciting
2 of my fellow NCT-ers have just had their babies 3 weeks early ...am crossing my legs...and fingers and eyes I make it to Mat leave!

supersteph · 26/08/2008 13:50

Hi every 1!! Hope all is well with the pregnancys. I am 17 weeks + 2 days today. The past 2 days I have developed a really big tummy. I was so worried I would never show. I am double the size I was last time at this stage!!! Hope baby isnot to big.

My last baby was only 5lb 4oz and was just about right for me.
Only three more weeks to go till we find out the sex. We do not mind what our baby is as long as he/she is healthy.

xx xx

maz32 · 26/08/2008 14:42

so pleased for you scottlass, i have only 6 days to go til our next scan but have passed so much crap and have been bleeding for 10 days now so we know that everything has pretty much gone, althought stupidly i keep thinking theres a million to one chance of something-how mad am i? deep down i know theres no hope, but am feeling loads better thanx to everyones support on here, xxxxxxx

scotlass · 26/08/2008 18:40

Thanks everyone for your support, I don't think I'd have made it through the last week without it. I've been so tired since the scan I'm practically sleeping standing up I think the emotions have worn me out all this rollercoasting. I went to GP and got signed off for 2 weeks today, I can't bear to think about work at the moment, it's really busy, shortstaffed and stressfull so I'm putting me and beanie first.

Oh Maz I so so hope your bean is sticking in and you get a good outcome from the scan, the waiting is awful and you try and prepare yourself but your heart feels as if it's breaking doesn't it. Hopefully the bleed will have an explanation and 'not bothered the baby' as the EPU doc put it.
I'll be thinking about you.
