Am clearly going mad. Thought I was on the Avengers thread for some reason. Err... 'not posting on here much'? that's becuase I'm not pregnant! Sorry! Still wishing you all the best though tsom

diddle · 14/08/2008 18:54

hi ladies, can i join, i am 100% a knicker checker!

i am currently 6+3, very early days know, and its stressing me out. Had 2 miscarriages at 7 and 9 weeks and 2 successful pregnancies since then (2 boys ds1 2 yrs & ds2 10 months). Still can't help worrying though.
I have 5 pregnant friends, 1 who lost their baby at the weekend, another who has started bleeding a little and had scan showing baby very small for dates. So i am surrounded by negativity at the moment. I'm happy i can be a support to my friends of course. But it makes it feel so much more real that anything can happen.

haven't had much of a chance to catch up on whos on here and how everyone is doing so will do that soon.

diddle · 14/08/2008 19:08

twilightsurfer - hope all is going well, i was in early labour for just over a week and it gradually got more and more painful, i didn't get regular, just got close together contractions. has an examination on my due date just to check things, i was there to book my induction date, but i was 4 cm's so they sent me home to get my bags, i had no idea.
fingers crossed for you that all these contractions are a good sign of your body doing it all already. you'll probably have a quick labour now.

squarebear - pains sound normal, i had htem but if you're worried no harm is asking midwife. I felt both my ds's kicking me at 16 weeks, so you can feel it earlier than 20.

tsom - hope you're doing ok, suddenley wanted tea and coffee again in my pregnancies, not necessarily a bad sign. some pains are normal, a friend of mine has excruciating pain during the night at this early stage, strong enough to keep her awake, and she is now 15 weeks and doing fine. there is so much going on in there, pain isn't always a bad thing. Stress won't help your little one and can contribute to miscarriage so stay calm and relax, enjoy your hols and if your pains get worse or you want to come home just do it, you and baby are the only concern!

iliketosleep · 14/08/2008 20:26

Still here, still pregnant

Sick to death of people asking when she's coming....

How longs a fucking piece of string

tsom · 14/08/2008 20:49

thanks for your posts
I would go home but kitchen is currently ripped out so can't even make a bowl of pasta there. Felt a bit queasy again today and really hungry so I think I'll just try to stay positive at present. dh thinks I'm really mad now.
I'm in worthing then london from saturday so I guess there will always be an EPU in reach if needed. Wasn't sure about a private clinic unless heard a recommendation, might try St Richards though, thanks for the advice.

TwilightSurfer · 14/08/2008 22:52

Diddle that's awesome information. Fingers crossed I pop tonight. Would hate for ILTS to beat me to the finish line. LOL

iliketosleep · 14/08/2008 23:00

Aw TS dont say that, If I popped first I wouldnt be able to live with the guilt afterwards!!! I'll keep my legs closed

LackaDAISYcal · 14/08/2008 23:09

so, you not had that baby yet then ilts?

sending positive birthy vibes to you and TS and to Kezza

Hi to all the newbies and hope everything is well and continues to be so for you all. Sending sticky vibes to you all.

I'll catch up soon, but I just wanted to say that I met up with jules and missy today and got to give missy lots of cuddles . Jules is lovelier than I imagined and missy is just gorgeous....and sooooooo tiny. It's got me all broody and wishing virgil's arrival was imminent; I'd forgotten about that newborn baby smell

Have been on my hols. Too much posting to catch up on! My pg brain can't take it all in!

So will just say welcome to all the new ladies and hello and hope you are all well to everyone!

bunny sorry to read about your scare - hope everything has settled down now and good luck for your next scan.

Had my first NHS scan the other day. Was nervous but enjoyed it once the sonographer pointed out the heartbeat. The measurement she took showed the edd on her screen to be 5 days ahead of mine - but they have kept the edd from my earlier scans and dates. I hope this doesn't mean I'm going to have a huge baby!

We took DS and told him for the first time that I'm pg. He is too young to really understand though.

ronshar · 15/08/2008 10:42

Tsom. I am in Worthing. If you go to Worthing A&E then they may refer you straight upstairs to the EPU. Dont hold your breath mind you. They are lovely but unless you are actually bleeding then they may just tell you to relax and see your GP when you get home. There are private places around here. I can get details for you if you want. Although to be honest if you are in London tomorrow you will have a far greater choice. HTH.

Twilight Kezza and ILTS. I have everything wide open for you. Crossing stuff seems counterproductive.

Daisy I love then smell of newborns. I have a friend who isnt allowed round for at least a week after this little one is born. He wont be able to remove his nose from babies head!
Squarebear. I have been able to feel my babies all move from about 13 weeks. And I am not skinny. If it feels like wind or rumbles then it is baby.
Lovely day here in sunny sussex. Beautiful after the rain yesterday. We had hail stones. In August. WTF.

ronshar · 15/08/2008 10:44

Sorry Eli I meant to say brilliant news for you. Dont worry I was told at my 13 week that baby was a good 4 days bigger than my dates. It had all sorted itself out by 21 weeks. No big baby for me.

TwilightSurfer · 15/08/2008 13:48

Thank you Ronshar.

LackaDAISYcal · 15/08/2008 20:48

aw jules, I feel bad for abandoning you, but wow...how friendly people can be .

I just made it home in time as the PILs arrived with DS about 20 minutes after I got in. thankfully I'd started tidying up as soon as I got in the door so she could only half raise her eyebrow at me (she can be a bit judgey).

C'mon babies.....we're waiting

tsom, I hope you are doing OK.

MW shattered my illusions today. I thought I was 29 weeks pregnant, but she said I'm only 28....grr!

scotlass · 15/08/2008 22:09

Hi everyone.

ILTS are you sure your DD's party won't set off your labour, I find them stressfull never mind being 9 months pg.

Knicker checking continues, no bleeding as yet but the pains continue on and off and don't have any pg symptoms apart from feeling shattered but that's not new. Scan is a week today so hopefully will be clearer one way or another. Used my freebie clearblue test today (thanks mumsnet) and it still says pg though slightly out on my date for conception but then it said 92% accurate if you use first urine of the day and I didn't get it till mid morning so it was second (i couldn't resist). tsom we can try and get through this early time together.

iliketosleep · 15/08/2008 22:13

Well scotlass its not so much a kids party as a gathering of family IYSWIM but as its so rare its a party

If you see further down the thread I mention that sods law is that im going to go into labour either tomorrow or monday (DDs actual birthday).....

DAMN YOU SODS LAW!!!

tsom · 16/08/2008 08:12

no further news from here, sickness still seems less
going to london today so will post if can get online
scotlass good luck for scan next week

diddle · 16/08/2008 16:49

scotlass & tsom, thinking of you both and wishing away all your pains, fingers crossed. i think its rubbish that the hospital keeps you waiting for a week before another scan, you could go insaen before then.

ILTS - hope all goes well for your partying weekend.
