Hello

I'm new on here - well, confession, I've been reading away but finally got up the courage to post. I'm nearly 11w, after 2 mmc last year and have been thinking things like 'I won't join anything / believe in actually having a baby / think about it til I'm past 12 weeks'. Rubbish of course, I have been thinking about it all the time

Had a private early scan at 8+5 and saw heartbeat (i nearly deafened the poor sonographer), and have nearly-12 week scan this Fri - i know I should be more relaxed after positive early scan but weirdly the worries have rocketed back this week. Hence posting at 3am! I'll have a glass of milk and get back to sleep soon...

BTW whoever thought of the name Knicker Checkers Anonymous is a genius. Anyway, reading your posts has been a great support so far, it's good to finally join in!

Hi Ladies - well, I had m/c in October, but must have got pg again really soon after, I am now 36 + 2. Was really paranoid until I hit 12 weeks. Now I'm in the home straight I've come over all paranoid again! Good luck to all of you!

no, no baby yet told you the 13th

Although was in alot of pain yesterday, not with contractions with the old 'knitting needle up the fanjo'!!

Hoping when i get to my MW appointment tomorrow she is fully engaged. Might even ask for a sweep!

grinningbee · 05/08/2008 11:58

Teeheelaydee!

How nice to see you here, and yes, very very spooky. Congrats on the BFP!

I'm totally paranoid even though I've told myself not to be, lol. I've got my early reassurance scan on Monday and I can't wait. What date is yours?

I was laying flat on the bed this morning, and can feel (through the layers of chocolate ) that my lower tummy is quite hard, and there is certainly something there that didn't used to be. Is it right to feel that at only around 7 weeks?

perkypopsy · 05/08/2008 13:57

Twilightsurfer yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay and

teeheelaydee · 05/08/2008 19:38

Hi GB - I have to phone the midwife apparently but my doctor said before my BFP that I could have an 8 wk scan. Unfortunately I will be on holiday then so may have to wait until week 9 - which is about 25 days away (not that I'm counting or anything

When I had my mmc, the ladies at the EPAC said I could ring them directly when I got pg again and book in. Can you do that?

I rang them up and they booked me straight in. Not sure if anyone else is around Nottingham, but I think they're really nice. I was offered the choice of going in this Friday, but as dh is working I said I'd wait till Monday.

Hands up those who can guess I wish I hadn't!!!

As for not counting the days I'm not ticking off every day either...

LackaDAISYcal · 06/08/2008 00:33

hey feedmenow

glad you are feeling braver and I hope that things are going well for you. Big strong thoughts with you lovely, and remember we are here if you need to rant

wow, loads of newbies and a few birth announcements too...i need to stop going on holiday.....not! welcome to the newbies and congratulations on all the BFPs and babies. I'm struggling to catch up after my break so not sure who is who or who had what, but I'll get there......pregnant dissolving brain allowing

Had a fab time and got a lovely tan on the costa del east yorkshire. DD loved the beach and the f.f.f.f.freeze factor of the North Sea didn't even slow her down in her quest to crawl headlong into the water.....silly baby we were then in Scotland for a few days to scatter my mum's ashes and have a big family picnic. It was lovely and not at all sad, although we all had a reflective moment. My beautiful, sensitive DS wanted to stay behind after we had all moved away to talk to his nana on his own for a bit....bless him.

i'll catch up tomorrow!

feedmenow · 06/08/2008 09:07

Hi daisy. Bless your DS - how sweet of him.

Anyway, had wanted to let you know that I had an official scan last Friday and am due 4th Feb so 14 weeks today. As much as I would like to hide in a cupboard (or maybe in my nice comfy bed under a soft warm duvet would be better...)the whole time, I know I can't. So I am facing the big world and gradually telling people in RL and generally trying to be like the average pregnant woman (tired, nauseous, stroppy, hungry....you know the sort of things )

teeheelaydee · 06/08/2008 09:47

Daisy - The picnic sounds lovely and your DS so sweet.

Feedmenow - 14 weeks - wow that seems so far away, it must be strange now that you are telling people in RL. Hopefully as the weeks pass you will be able to get the average pd woman thing down to a fine art.

Thanks for the best wishes Jules, I remember you from the m/c thread to and am so delighted your DD is finally here - enjoy those sleepless nights

LackaDAISYcal · 06/08/2008 10:35

great news FMN

on being 14 weeks that is, not the ill, stroppy, hormonal thing!

DD has gone ominously quiet so she is either eating the contents of the spice drawer or dropping the cat nibbles into her water dish and then drinking the resultant soup.

gotta dash

ronshar · 06/08/2008 11:06

That will teach me to post and not read before hand.

Feedmenow. I am so happy that you feel able to relax a little bit. We are all here for you every step of the way. 14 weeks brilliant.

Welcome to all the newly pregnant ladies. We are all alittle bit crazy here. Feel free to say/post whatever is worrying you. Someone with a wise head will eventually amble in and try to help.

Popsy I take exception to that remark. My hide is not like a Rhino. I'll have you know I have far too much skin for it to be tough. More saggy like a deflated balloon.

ILTS, could you find out what the needle in fanjo means please. That will save me asking my midwife when I eventually get to see her again. Thanks love.

eejaykay · 06/08/2008 11:37

Worrying myself sick today - 12-ish week scan on Friday but I am convinced Small has stopped growing. I've got no belly (beyond the usual muffin top) and although I've been feeling sick and my norks are still tender, I had both of that with the 2 previous mmcs and know it doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Only two days to wait but i'm getting myself into a right old state. Trying to concentrate on work but its a struggle today.

Aaaaaarrrrgh. I hate not being in control of Everything!

iliketosleep · 06/08/2008 11:46

Pelvic Gurdle or something, she gave me an information sheet that was supposed to explain but when i got back and had a look it was all about SPD which i know i do not have!

Oh and I am only 3/5 engaged woopppeee I was hoping on at least 2/5 but she isn't back to back so thats a relief!

My next appointment is at 40+3, is that not strange? I thought she would see me again at 39 weeks

Still feeling mighty pissed off but going for a bit of retail therapy with my mum this afternoon if my achey fanjo will let me

ronshar · 06/08/2008 11:59

Eejaykay, it is quite normal to not have anything to show for baby until 16-17 weeks. Nothing I can say will make you feel better but you only have 2 days to go. Have you done another wee stick. I was obsessive until my 12 week scan even though I had one at 8weeks! It will come up fainter as you get further into your prenancy but it may help to get you through the next few days. HTH.

ILTS good news that you are still engaged and not back to back. All positive. Why is it that the more children you have the less you get to see a midwife? Just the waiting game for you now.

eejaykay · 06/08/2008 12:09

Thanks Ronshar - wee stick brilliant idea. And glad to know I'm not a weirdo for obsessing.

Hey, at least I don't have an achey fango . Hope you have a good shopping trip, ILTS
x

iliketosleep · 06/08/2008 13:38

I had no belly with dd1 until about 24ish weeks, dd2 i was about 19 weeks, ds i was about 17 weeks. I was 9 weeks with this one and now i look like a whale thats not including the 2 babies i am carrying in each bum cheek

I dread to think how much i have put on these past few months!

I didnt realise you got less care the more PGs you had! Thats not good, but im hoping that if she would have made me an appointment for next week i wouldnt have needed it anyway

I had a nice boost for the day anyway......she told me i had a nice urine sample

RachAndFamousNot · 06/08/2008 13:48

Hi, another newbie here. Had decided not to post anything (just lurk ) until 12 weeks but it's very hard.

I'm 6+3, so still very early. Had 2 x MCs last year, then this year got to 16 weeks but scans revealed massive problems, so 4th time lucky, fingers crossed.

I've got really bad constant abdominal pain/ cramps, which I had with the last pregnancy but rested a lot more that time than the others, so I'm trying to do that again. Even though I'm lying flat in bed I'm worrying.
Anyone else had similar?
Thank you!

iliketosleep · 06/08/2008 13:51

You get all sorts of aches and pains and cramps early on as little one is burrowing down getting comfy, some people get it some people dont its completly normal and nothing to worry about

Welcome xx

smilesattheweekend · 06/08/2008 13:56

Hi everyone, hope you are all ok. Have been suffering with SPD (Pelvic pain) but physio is getting me better.

JustJules - are you around?? Don't know if you can remember, but I am taking low dose heparin each day (am sure you were too). I am now 26 weeks and have started to worry about coming off it, i think they said at 34 or 36 weeks - can you give me any words of wisdom.

I have updated my profile with my 4D scans of little Miss - can't wait to meet her.

X
