Hi Everyone

Sorry long time since I've posted.
Bunny - I was speaking to someone on another site who passed a huge clot - went for a scan 2 days later at her local EPU & there was a baby doing just fine... sometimes the body just likes to scare us. Hang on in there hun.

Jules - OMG OMG she is JustJules Gorgeous!! I just looked up your photos... I am at work so haven't time for a read through - how was it?? Is she called Missy? (seem to recall something in the depths of my long lost brain).

ILTS - 2 weeks and counting mate!!

I am 17 weeks today - hurray!!!! After 2 mc's, 2 failed attempts at IVF and lots of 'giving up now'... we are slowly getting there.
I am struggling in heat and going to Portugal in 10 days - good how will I cope?

Luv to all
Rosy
xx

littleeyesmum · 29/07/2008 14:08

Hi, can I join you all? I've not posted before but have browsed mumsnet and found you all a great help when I had my miscarriages. Somehow I didn't feel up to posting myself at the time though.

A bit of background: I have a dd 2 yrs who is a delight. 2 mcs since - first last October at 6/40 - just started bleeding and all over very quickly. 2nd in February was much more upsetting; had spotting at 7/40 but normal scan, then had normal dating scan and private nuchal scan at 12/40 - baby looked fine. A bit more bleeding at 12.5 weeks and another normal scan, then 24 hours later just went into effectively extremely early labour and passed everything (almost -still needed an ERPC). Nobody could explain what had gone wrong but did get blood tests done - all normal.

I am now almost 9 weeks pregant and had a scan last week which showed a (so far) healthy bean. As you all know, I felt only slightly relieved by that as I know I've still got a long way to go!

Also I feel guilty, I've got horrible all-day sickness and feel so exhausted but feel I should feel grateful and stop complaining.... Can't get out of my head that something will go wrong again and all this suffering will be pointless....

Anyway, would be good to join you all.

MollieMooma · 29/07/2008 14:46

Bunny I'm keeping everything crossed for you hun x

bunnyinheadlights · 29/07/2008 16:11

thank you all for your kind thoughts and messages. kept me going till my scan. just back now and saw my little bean waving at me feeling very sheepish now for all my worries and crying. i have really turned into a head case since my mc's. they couldnt find the source of the bleed. which is strange. where would the clot have come from??

supersteph i cant wait until i'm at your stage, actually, i cant wait till i at ilts's stage! congrats on passing the first trimester - what a relief. the days seem to be dragging and every day is a new day for worry (though dh says i must start having some faith now that this time things will be all right).

littleeyesmum welcome and you're in good company. dont feel bad about what you feel (just read my old posts!)

ilts - 2 week countdown now!! you sound like you are in full nesting mode...

MollieMooma · 29/07/2008 16:15

Bunny I am so so pleased for you, hurray for Bunny's sticky Bean!

bunnyinheadlights · 29/07/2008 16:22

thanks mollie i am still shaky and teary from the whole trauma of it all. i think the spectre of it all happening again was too much to bear... how is your MS and are you still at work?

kirsty1973 · 29/07/2008 16:49

Hello everyone

I am 16 weeks tomorrow after 2 miscarriages - 1 on the day of the first scan and the other at 4 1/2 weeks.

Does everyone else feel anxious? I feel worried about lying the wrong way, odd bone clicks and twinges. Just keeping everything crossed!

Also seem to have really achey thighs at night. Is this just me? I have started prenatal yoga to combat thigh spread and these aches.

dan39 · 29/07/2008 17:36

Hello all - blimey you lot can talk!! Not getting much chance to check at the mo as no connection at home yet so having to sneak a read at work - I can't keep up!
Well - a week after my ok 12 week scan my fears are less, but still around - like so many of you I can't be positive as I am so frightened of it happening again. I know I am past the 12 weeks but still scared. I feel quite fat which is reassuring - tho I think its too early to be this fat, then again its a funny shape like the pics in the book...Oh I don't know!! I have a friend at work who is 17 weeks and everything has been fine, I would not wish my experience on anyone BUT been a bit upset with her as she is a bit impatient with my fear - says things like 'how much more proof do you need after the scan?' and I know you will all get it that we actually need DAILY proof?! She hasn't experienced the loss so is much more chilled about the process. And that's why reading here is so valuable as you all know what I mean. DH is a techy geek and likes the idea of the video of the scan to keep, I think its a wierd idea but am thinking of agreeing just for the extra scan. Its hard work all this worrying. Not to mention the maternity trousers falling down business...

downbutnotout · 29/07/2008 18:04

Phew - so relieved for you, bunny.

Welcome to littleyes and kirsty. Yes - we are all paranoid too here but we love company! I don't think any of us will have a worry-free pregnancy again, but hopefully you will eventually be able to relax a bit more than now. In my own case, I have a friend going through a very hard time with her pregnancy at the moment which has made me realise how lucky I am by comparison and has made things in some ways a little easier for me.

I still check for blood every time I wipe though and I half expect it to be there. I just keep listening to the lovely reassuring stories here and I can add one more - I have another friend who woke up in a pool (and I do mean a pool) of blood at 14 weeks. She never really got an explanation as to why it happened but she has a healthy eight month ds from that pregnancy!

iliketosleep · 29/07/2008 21:54

Yay bunny so pleased everything is ok Its scary stuff this pg lark!!

Rosy, did you not see my torturehomebirth kit list further down? Why im passing up the option of an epidural i dont know, i must be mad!!

She was 4/5 engaged on wednesday so im hoping shes shifted a bit more now.

Well I've finally tackled the back room come dining room come computer room come general room to put crap in, washed curtains, polished everything, even cleaned the carpet!! im on a roll!!

WorzselMummage · 30/07/2008 15:39

Can i just ask question ?

I am 5 weeks pregnant now, i'd not planned to go to the Drs for a couple of weeks as there seems to be very little point.

Can i ask how your pregnancies were managed by your Drs, were you under the EPU ? how many scans did you have and how much support ?

I have had 2 8 week mc and a mmc at 13 weeks but the baby died at 9 weeks, I know i am going to be a nervous wreck between 8 and 13 or so weeks this time and am kind of hoping to have a few scans for reassurance. Do you think there is any chance of getting weekly scans ?

downbutnotout · 30/07/2008 18:04

Hi worzsel. The consultant who set up my standard tests after three mcs referred me to the EPU this time, but I don't know if every trust has one - we only got one last september. Nonetheless, if you have a sympathetic GP and you are clearly stressed and upset about your pg (as who wouldn't be after 3 mcs), they may refer you for a scan anyway even if there is no EPU. It does have the down side that the waiting room may be full of pg ladies, but will give you the answers you need. My GP was surprisingly sympathetic (despite being a twat of biblical proportions on most other occasions) and referred me for a scan when I started spotting at 10 weeks with what turned out to be my 2nd mc. If need be, lie and tell your GP you are having spotting.

I had scans at 7 and 10 weeks this time and it made a big difference to my well-being.

WorzselMummage · 30/07/2008 18:13

Thats good to hear

Would it be unreasonable to ask for scans at 7, 9 and 12 weeks ?

We do have an EPU, they were great last time but i dont know if i will be under them automaticially or if it'll be my GP i need to ask.

Anxiaty is such a shitter isnt it

downbutnotout · 30/07/2008 18:28

I'd call the EPU, explain your situation and ask. I don't think it's unreasonable at all.

bunnyinheadlights · 30/07/2008 20:03

hi worzel congrats on your BFP - i remember you from the avengers thread. always happy to see people from that thread here! i totally know what you mean about scans - i had one at 6.5, 8.5 and one yesterday at 10 weeks. these were all done privately with a consultant and cost about £100 per time. my gp referred me to this private consultant.

i saw my gp at 5 weeks and she's super nice. however, she said nhs wont scan me before 7 weeks so to come back at 7 weeks and to say that i am spotting (even if i am not) as nhs wont scan me early if i wasnt spotting! anyway, in the end i decided to forego a few meals out and buying clothes for a few mths and pay for the private scans. they give you the scan when you want and the whole experience is great. if that's not for you - you probably will have to say that you a spotting to get a scan. altho with 3 mcs, they may give you priority? it really differs with each trust. good luck and lots of sticky dust to you.

whatawally · 30/07/2008 20:28

Hi all, Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I am 4 weeks pg (af was due today). Had a m/c in January. By a strange turn of events today would have been the exact due date for the little one I lost. I feel that is really significant somehow. Needless to say I may be a little bit anxious for the next 8 weeks.

Hope you are all well in your pgs.

RosyBelle · 30/07/2008 21:30

Whatawally - well welcome to the 'anxious' thread... you are in good company with us paranoid and anxious girls

Worzel - had 2 mc's before this pregancy and you should def go to your EPU. I have the luxury of having 2 EPU's within 8 miles of my house so I had a choice which seems unbelievable when some people have only just got one in their area. They scanned me at 6, 8 and 10 weeks. I saw a hb at all of them . Then I had my 12 wk scan at a 'normal' clinic. Then at 16 weeks the EPU had me back for a review scan (to calm my nerves as I don't bleed when I mc - the only way I find out is at scans. After the 16 wk scan they have signed me off and onto Fetal Medicine who will put the doppler on me anytime I want to listen to the hb.
Reading others experiences it sounds like I am lucky with my care - don't be afraid to ask... if they say NO at least you tried.

Bunny - great news!! The power of the scan is an amazing thing.

ILTS - come to my house to clean please... does your home birthing plan involve sausages? If so they need to be savaloys or Pork & Leek... hhhhmmmmm.

ronshar · 30/07/2008 21:38

ILTS, I cleaned the Hob today and I hoovered the house, Naked! It was too hot to get dressed so I didnt. I think that the flash cooker wipes havent helped the skin on my bump much. Extra oil tonight I think. If you run out of rooms then I have a few that need attention. By the time I am nesting, hopefully not for 6 weeks, they will need to be done again.

Bunny, fantastic news for you love. It goes to show that sometimes we really are mad for no reason. (Thank the lord). Lets hope that is the only scare you have to deal with.

Welcome to the newly pregnant ladies. Prepare for a long time of staring at your pants everytime you go to the loo.

Did anyone know that Alittlebitshy had a baby boy recently. It was on facebook. Not sure if I missed her announcement!

iliketosleep · 30/07/2008 22:18

LMFAO sausages!!! back in the days of the battered sausage, back in the size 12 days

Sure ill come and clean your house as long as you give birth to this baby for me

Ronshar, you cleaned your belly with a flash cooker wipe lol pg brain coming through hope you stayed out of view of the neighbours though!! Talking about oiling bellies i really should do mine as i have a 'y' shaped stretchy mark right above my wierd looking belly button

Well today i have made dp install the washing line (finally) and stripped the covers off buggy and bouncer and emptied my washing basket. House was still quite tidy so not alot needed doing inside. Will be doing all the bed covers tomorrow and may start sorting the girls room, although no amount of nesting makes me WANT to do that room!! For a nearly 7 and 8 year old they are proper slobs!! Now ds who is coming 5 on the other hand keeps his room spick and span bless him so not alot to do there either.
Its all coming together and im officially due in.......18 DAYS!!! doesnt sound long when its said like that but 2 and a half weeks does

How are you all today anyway?

Sorry to the newbies ive missed i can only hold so much in my pea like brain.......

ronshar · 30/07/2008 22:32

Almost the same thing, big old belly kept getting in the way. I dont know why but I keep forgetting its there. Try to lean over stuff and get in a right old mess.

I am waiting for my printer to finish printing off my Mat Allowance forms. Crikey they like to make you waste your own in and time just for a few pounds each month. Oh the fun of self employment!

Also does anybody know about the prescription thing? Do we automatically get free prescriptions as pregnant or do we need to fill in yet another form and get another form back?
It is all too much for my poor brain to cope with
