Oh the best part is when they drag it out of you and slap it on a sheet on the bed to check it. best part of the night that hehe

ronshar · 23/07/2008 22:11

I am not having any one wave a female catheter at me in my own home!!
My word that is a lot of stuff. I shall have to keep it in the shed.
Stop being smug Jules.

iliketosleep · 23/07/2008 22:14

Why do they ask if you want to look at it? Are you supposed to be impressed?

sweetkitty · 23/07/2008 22:22

Forgot about this thread but you didn't forget about me

not had time to read all the posts but glad to see everyone is doing well

My little miracle arrived 8 days ago and we are all completely smitten with her, she is a wee angel.

LackaDAISYcal · 23/07/2008 22:22

amnihook...

that kit sounds frightful ilts!

jules, the love and excitement at having your DD is positively tangible. She sounds lovely. Are you working towards dropping the top ups? Can you squeeze in a few more breastfeeds?

oooh, before I forget; I am starting the NCT diploma in breastfeeding counselling in September. Am very excited

...and, does anyone here remember bouncingturtle (her DS is 7.5months now). I met her on Monday at the Durham BFing picnic. She is sooo lovely and her DS is such a cutie. So nice to meet people you have been talking to for aaaaages

iliketosleep · 23/07/2008 22:29

PMSL they dont make you look at it they have to check it before they throw it away incase its not intact or something, i cant remember that much now to be honest i was still out of it on the gas and air (or i wouldnt let go of the gas and air until i was ready ) But i remember seeing this big piece of steak on the bed lmao

Im sorry ill shoosh now

iliketosleep · 23/07/2008 22:32

It also says......

The first midwife attending the delivery should aim to take the entonox and resuscitation equipment with her.

Yes! she bloody should!!!!!

Im going to be brave this time and NOT get the pethadine eeeek

LackaDAISYcal · 23/07/2008 22:38

are you listening to your hypnobirthing tapes ilts?

did you see that woman on the outlaw births prog on C5? she just lay in her birth pool and breathed this baby out, no pain meds, no yelling, no grunting or puching; it was bloody amazing.

eveil heartburn dictates that I take some gavisin and go to bed. that'll teach me for stealing DDs chocolate buttons

My midwife said I had to have 2 adults in attendance. I asked why and she said it was to get more Entonox if needed. Stupid woman. I had just finished telling her that all of those drugs make me vomit and it was nothing or an epidural.
She also said they dont do peth at home anymore. You are obviously in a better area then me.

Naughty you Daisy. Imagine taking your childrens chocolate. My DD ate her bars this afternoon as she said she couldnt trust me anymore

ronshar · 23/07/2008 22:50

I think that woman was crazy. How do you get a baby out and not seem to notice. Either that or she was so stretched from the first baby, that the baby just fell out

LackaDAISYcal · 23/07/2008 22:52

lol ronnie

jules, i've already had two hairy babies so no argument there. DD had a shock of black hair when she was born, plus a hairy builders bum and tufty ears (hance her nickname of wombat) until about 12 weeks old. DS was like a little blond gorilla with hairy shoulders.

this one will obviously be the same.

right...am off now.

Night all xx

Thats not fair! I have heartburn that bad its burnt my asopha wotsit-the thing you swallow with and have had it all 3 times and all my babies come out bald was up all night with heartburn last night but was too scared to come downstairs in the dark to get my rennies lol brought another pack to keep next to my bed now though!

Yeah i watched that show, it was the one on the bed on the video they were showing that got me, how on earth is it possible to do that and just say "come on baby".....jesus!

My mum was looking after dds downstairs while i was giving birth to ds and said she was trying to read them a story to keep them occupied and had to go-

Once upon a TIME THERE WERE THREE LITTLE PIGS and there was this WOLF WHO KEPT TRYING TO GET THEM they built a house with STRAW AND THE WOLF CAME AND blew it down.

Shes a better story teller than me but you get the jist lol

I havent tried the hypnobirthing cds what do they do? tell you to breath and imagine your on a beach etc? do they work?

iliketosleep · 23/07/2008 23:38

I mentioned about the pethadine to her today and basically said if i get it this time will they give it me, as they didnt last time and i got really angry, but i was too far gone to have it. She said they prefer you not to have it as it could make you too drowsy to continue and you could end up being blue lighted to hospital so i just said i wont get it then. I will cope better if it isnt there full stop than if i know its there and they wont give it me.

LackaDAISYcal · 24/07/2008 07:33

hey MrsMcJr . Was wondering where you had got to, but have seen your name a few times on the boards so assumed all was well.

Congrats on your DS; babies are great aren't they?

oh, well ilts; there is always the exception that proves the rule . My doctor thought the whole heartburn = hairy babies is nonsense anyway.

DBNO - Big Hugs to you & your friend & good luck with your results. 19 years ago my Mum had a very high risk scan with my brother but as they had been waiting 12 years and had a MC in between they decided to wait and see and he's fine. Positive positive positive

All that home birth equipment just freaked me out! At 16 weeks I haven't even thought that far yet - just freaking about the bellybutton at the mo turning from an inny to an outy (I like my deep belly button !)
Am defo going to the hospital - too much of a wimp I think & gone thru' too much to get here. Maybe next time....!

I am thinking of the birthing pool option though as I LOVE water (being a Pisces) and spend hours in the bath when its cold. Lucky that it doesn't have to be booked either, so can decide at the time - anyone done this?
