Wanted to start a thread for anyone expecting after IVF and due next spring/summer

I am finding it quite daunting after infertility for 4 years and then a round of IVF to now be FINALLY expecting in June 2026, can hopefully chat with anyone else in the same boat

sounds like a great idea, and will be so helpful. I’m due May 26th with a 7 year old from previous ivf and it all seems so new, so excited to chat with lots of you mums as you join!

@BacktotheicsiYay I managed to do it right! I haven’t ever started my own thread!

I think my due date will be around the 5th June. Glad we got to share our ivf round and now pregnancy together 🩷

I am still in disbelief, I keep saying to my partner… I can’t believe it worked 😂 x

@pastelheart Aww I completely feel you with that! I feel like im serial testing just because I cant believe it 😂
Feeling some nausea, very full boobs 😶and so so tired. How are you feeling with it?

@pastelheart ahh me too we are so lucky! I feel bloody dreadful I don’t like to say too much on ivf group as it seems ungrateful but I feel so sick!

@Primrose91i was 100% the same, I stopped though once I got 3+ and die stealers so have had a few weeks off now. Yep same as you, but also bloody starving but all I want to eat is crumpets or cereal lol going through two boxes a day of cereal 😂 have you already had a scan with your clinic or are you waiting for one? Mine is next Wednesday x

@Backtotheicsiso lucky! Yeah I felt completely the same, I felt awks talking about the pregnancy in the group, hopefully a few more from the group will join after their frozen transfers. Oh no, are you actually being sick or just feeling sick? I have had some mild nausea, I wasn’t sick at all with my son so I’m hoping that stays the same this time. I’m just super tired and super hungry and super impatient for my scan now lol x

@pastelheart I’ve only been sick twice I wish I could be sick it feels awful just dry heaving all the time. Much worse this time around. But it is reassuring to have some symptoms so I’m just trying to stay positive. If I have my smints in my pocket I can usually stop the worst of it by sucking on one lol

ive been moved in work out of the aln hub it has ruffled many feathers as the girl who was supposed to swap has gone off sick because she’s so angry. And no one knows so I’m not sure if they are guessing at the right reason or assuming I’m a horror but either way I’m choosing to stay away from toxicity and sitting in class for lunch etc. drama not needed here lol

Me 👋🏻. Due early May. I am 12 weeks today and have spent the day in bed with extreme tiredness. The past 6 weeks have been rough with that and also constant nausea and tummy issues. Really hoping the promised 2nd trimester glow-up hits soon!

@Backtotheicsiwell I managed to get stuck in the car today for 4 hours in traffic and I was gagging the whole time, got home and was actually sick so I now feel your pain 🤢 I might grab some smints and try that! How have you been today? Omg what the hell is wrong with that girl? Do they still think you are scared of that 4 year old 😂 that made me laugh so much lol xx

@magpie234 hey! Sorry you have been feeling so rough and I hope second tri treats you better! Have you finally stopped the progesterone now? X

@pastelheart I have! Today! So that was an excellent milestone to hit. TBC if it makes a difference to how am feeling but hopefully…

@magpie234i am jealous! I find the injections fine but the pessaries, its a bloody nightmare remembering to do them 3 times a day lol and doesnt always work with my nap schedule 😂 x

@pastelheart yes the male TA does 😂😂 very funny! He also invented a story about me and the head being in cahoots for months to plan this move out of the hub 😂 I’m like oh would have loved to have the confidence things would work out to have planned ahead lol
aw yes try smints honestly I actually got some similar from Primark today in different flavours I’m going to try.
im only on peasant progesterone and only twice daily, still a pain! Xx

i found some smints at home so next time i feel nauseous i will try and report back to you!

I am still on two injections a day until 12 weeks, my tummy is so sore from them and the pessaries are just annoying but… it’s still worth it. Only 4 more sleeps til my scan! Hope you have had a good weekend so far? We have had our brand new bathroom ripped out so that’s really fun and then we went to look around a castle this afternoon, also actually fun xx

I currently 26 weeks due mid Jan after four rounds.

I get the feeling of being afraid to moan after what we have been through but it’s tougher than I expected!

So much tougher than I expected too! I keep telling myself multiple feelings can and do exist at the same time and that I am actually allowed to be grateful, excited and miserable at once!

it is so hard! So much harder then I remember too, and I feel such guilt for being useless and then for being ungrateful. I feel the guilt of being ungrateful doesn’t impact others who don’t understand infertility as much as we do.

@pastelheart yes report back, my sister is convinced I am obsessed with smints because I’m tryna not eat snacks 😂😂😂
when have you all told people your news ot when will you? Xx

I told my some family / friends the day I found out as they knew what I was going through. Told other close family after my 7 week scan and the rest found out after the 12 week scan

@dubkitten ahh I told 3 friends and my sister the day I found out, I haven’t told anyone else yet, I’ve really wanted to but really feel like it will get back to my daughter. I’m trying to hold out as long as possible before I tell her!

Yea it’s hard keeping it quiet. How far are you now?

@dubkitten i will be 9 week Tuesday. Early doors. I’ve had 2 scans at 7/8 weeks and have booked a private scan for just 2 weeks today so just shy of 11 weeks. Still yet to hear from a midwife apparently they’ve never known so many pregnancies in my area. When I had my little girl they saw me at 7 weeks I haven’t even had a call back to arrange a meet yet. When I chased they just said they’re behind.

I’m based in Ireland so our set up is different, our maternity hospitals do your first appointment at 12 weeks.

welcome @dubkitten and congratulations! Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl? I 100% get what you are saying with the moaning, I felt really nauseous last night and I said to my partner ‘I’m not moaning though’ and he was like you can moan if you like lol

@Backtotheicsiwe have our scan on Wednesday and if everything is okay with that we are planning on telling my son on Friday evening and then our families and close friends over the weekend. I am having to avoid everyone currently as I have a bump already, that can’t be passed as bloat or weight gain as it’s just my tummy and I’m still little everywhere else lol I didn’t show with my son until after 20 weeks so this is very very different! That’s rubbish about your midwife appt, mine came through super quickly. I started it early as I move to a new area last year and haven’t registered with a GP here as I use my private one through work so I was worried I would have to register first GP before I could register with the midwife but apparently I didn’t

hope everyone has had good weekends, I am not in a good way my sleep is crap atm and I feel and look like a zombie 😭 xx

Hello and congrats to all! 👋
I am just over 10 weeks, due 14th May following a FET in late August of our only viable embryo. Still in disbelief really, though the constant nausea makes it more real! I had a reassurance scan at our hospital on Fri and all looking ok so far so allowing myself to feel a little more excited 😊
We’ve told close family and a couple of close friends, but otherwise holding out until the thirteen week scan in a few weeks.
sorry to hear about your sleep @pastelheart, I am waking up more at the moment too. Also can’t wait to stop the pessaries!
have a good day all, am loading up on (mainly healthy!) snacks to keep the nausea at bay

Thanks @pastelheartNo I am not going to find out the gender much to my goddaughter’s disappointment, she has her heart set on a girl 😂 she is 12 and lives with me so will be very involved and is very excited
