@Pennyroses i was on aspirin last time and started taking it from around 12 weeks I think. I know it’s hard but the aspirin really probably wasn’t the cause for your loss.

I completely get it though and it makes you second guess absolutely everything.

I’ll be taking it again this time assuming
im told to at my booking appointment as I didn’t get pre-eclampsia, so I suppose it did the job!

Pennyroses · 01/08/2025 12:14

@Mushroo thanks, I think I'll do the same. There was no cause found for my loss so I literally question everything now! It's such a worrying time, wish I could just fast forward to 24/25 weeks which will probably be when I finally feel a bit safer! Feels so long away though 😞

Mushroo · 01/08/2025 12:33

@Pennyroses I know, I really hate all the uncertainty, although I’ve found even once they arrive, I also don’t stop worrying about everything!

Pennyroses · 01/08/2025 12:41

@Mushroo I know it never ends does it 😭 my eldest is 18 and I still worry about him all the time!

Fallulah · 01/08/2025 13:56

The midwives just phoned to arrange my booking in appointment in August when I’ll be 8 weeks. Feels scarily real now!

🤞 for you @Casper94

Casper94 · 01/08/2025 15:26

All okay! Saw heartbeat and growing as per the measurements from earlier in the week so currently at 7+2 instead of 7+6 which is fine!

Ginnygi · 01/08/2025 16:05

Wondering if I should book a scan for today.
Just can't see how this pregnancy would continue knowing how bad things have been at home 😭 And I know, I know that people go through all sorts of stress and stay pregnant but I think my body isn't that sort of type.

@Ginnygi so sorry you're going through such a rough time - any chance you could explain to hubby how he's making you feel? Anyone you could go and stay with for a few nights to get a break?

Oh I did explain. I'm always quite communicative.
He stormed off God knows where. Can't take any criticism.

No, I don't have anyone where we live.

Great news! Glad all is ok & thanks for the reassurance, always getting kicked and jumped on by DS and it does worry me sometimes 🙈

Mads96 · 01/08/2025 18:11

Hey! Hope everyone is doing well! I’m 6 weeks tomorrow and already got through my 12 and 20 week scans, very organised of the nhs! This will be DC3 and I never had bad sickness my last two pregnancies but feel so sick this time round, today it’s lasted all day 😅

Congratulations!

I think different areas must vary. I only have my first midwife appointment booked and no scans. East Mids

Hello all

hope you don’t mind me joining 🫶. EDD towards the end of March 🩷 I’m 6 weeks found out about 2 weeks ago that I’m pregnant. It all feels like it’ll come round quickly. This will be my first.

Bumblebee1984 · 01/08/2025 20:55

I had my booking appointment today. We get our first appointment and scan dates as soon as we phone up the midwife unit when you find out. I’m Scotland.

lovely to hear more good scan news today. @Casper94glad all was well. I’m always worried about DS kicking me in the stomach.

@Ginnygi so sorry you’re going through such a tough time right now. That’s so unfair of him. Definitely need to talk to him and have you got some friends or family you can talk to

DH came back with fruit and croissants and I'm feeling mentally better because I'm feeling a little sick so taking it as a positive sign 🤞 🤞

LevelOneAgain · 01/08/2025 21:49

I'm way behind but I'm so sorry @Ginnygi- your partner needs to be kind to you of all people and especially at this time, I hope he comes around quickly!!

@Bumblebee1984 also in Scotland but only got my 12 week scan date in the post after my midwife said she'd sorted it during my booking appointment (which was a phone call only). Your board sounds more organised!

I'm another with a toddler playing slightly rough but with the nausea I've also had to explain daily that mummy has a funny tummy so to be gentle and I may need to lie down when usually I run around after him non stop. He's almost 3 so he's understanding to an extent.

Ginnygi · 01/08/2025 21:52

@LevelOneAgain @Bumblebee1984 I think it's down to GP practice where your community midwife is and they set the rules (eg how/when they book your scans or if booking appts are face to face or Via phone) so you could even both belong to the same health board, that would be funny 🤣 😁
P.s. I might be wrong about it being down to the gp practice but it was just what I thought!

Edited

My GP practice wanted nothing to do with me when I phoned and said I'd just found I was pregnant! Said call X number and hung up. No congrats, no nothing. But then my community midwife said they were fully remote post COVID and the hospitals they'd been operating from had kicked them out from having full time bases there, but GPs didn't want them back so they're essentially homeless. Funny how it's so different in different places.

@Mads96 are you first two boys or girls if you mind me asking?
I have zero sickness and am genuinely curious to know if you or anyone else has actually experienced this being linked to baby’s gender or if it’s just completely random!?

It's one thousand percent not linked to baby's sex. It's an old wives tail with zero scientific evidence.

No doubt! Just curious to know about peoples real life experiences with it
