@Hopeloveandkindness @Peanutbutterjelly123 that's lovely news

Mumto3kidsletshavenomore · 31/07/2025 16:08

Well here I am, aged 44 and pregnant after missing the pill for a few days due to a sickness bug. Never ever did i think or expect it would effect me. My eldest is 20. I feel so foolish but coming round slightly to this news. My husband is almost 60 with parkinsons. Welcome everyone to this group xxx

mumtrovert · 31/07/2025 16:23

Great news to everyone who had good scans today 🤍

Oh wow, what a story you got!

How far along are you? Have you had any scans yet? 💕

No scans. I have known for about a week now so 4/5 weeks. I'm even guessing I'm due March. I haven't worked it out. Tbh I can't even think that far ahead. We are both in denial yet I feel bit blamed. I never even thought there would be an issue. Baby no. 7!

mumtrovert · 31/07/2025 17:26

So I had fetal malperfusion with my DS and a small (less than 10th percentile), obstructed placenta. I’ve just mentioned this to my IVF clinic as ChatGPT says aspirin can help early placenta formation for cases like mine, as it’s likely to occur again and I’ll need more monitoring this time. I mentioned my DS was small when he was born but they didn’t seem concerned so didn’t think to go into detail with my placenta histology report.

Anyway I sent it to them this morning & the Consultant said aspirin is less likely to prevent it but I could start taking 150mg every evening because ‘it wouldn’t cause any harm’. Those on aspirin, is this the dose you take? I thought it was usually less but can’t remember for sure.

Part of me is hoping this wouldn’t cause my chemical & growth issue this time around .. but I don’t think it would. I’ll try anything though to turn this situation around.

Baby #7!
Wow!
How did you find raising 6 kids? I always think of how lovely it seems to me... Big families, houses full of love. I'll never be one of them though due to various reasons such as recurrent losses and not having enough energy.

Fallulah · 31/07/2025 18:37

@Mumto3kidsletshavenomore You’re the same age as me and I’m due around March 30 👋 First pregnancy ever here.

@mumtrovert I don’t know enough but if the consultant says it can’t do any harm, it’s worth taking their advice? It must be so worrying for you.

I have bitten the bullet and confirmed my private scan for just before 7 weeks. They have been in touch and said it will have to be an internal and there may not be a heartbeat at that stage, but after so many surgeries and gynae issues over the years I just want to know it’s there and in the right place!

Saw the GP this morning and she didn’t think we were high risk particularly (age, fat and history) but said that the midwives will make the final call at booking in at 9 weeks. Still can’t believe they leave you that long.

We made it home through the flight carnage yesterday and OH has tested positive for covid today! I am officially avoiding him! 🫣

Mushroo · 31/07/2025 19:58

@mumtrovert i was on aspirin last time because of family history of pre-eclampsia. I’ve just looked back and it was the same dose :)

Peanutbutterjelly123 · 31/07/2025 19:59

@mumtrovert I take aspirin after we lost our son due to placenta issues. I take 150mg a day alongside blood thinners and will continue this to the end of the pregnancy x

mumtrovert · 31/07/2025 20:22

Thanks girls. Will mention it all at my booking appointment if I get that far 🤞🏼

Had our scan today and saw little jellybean's heart beating away 😍 DH softer than me and was rather choked up! Measuring bang on at 7+6, so thoroughly cheered up and excited now 😊

Mummysparrow · 31/07/2025 21:15

I had a scan today and measured at 6 weeks and I am 6+1 so I am happy with that. Also saw babies heartbeat 💓 hubby had to check there was just one baby and not twins 🤣

Mummysparrow · 31/07/2025 21:18

@mumtrovertibhave to start aspirin at 12 weeks as I got high blood pressure at 40 weeks with my daughter 🤦 I still have some Asprin left from last pregnancy as I got a couple months supply before loosing my baby at 15 weeks.
Not looking forward to having another tablet to remember every day 🤣🤣

Ginnygi · 31/07/2025 21:26

@Mummysparrow @Peanutbutterjelly123 so sorry for your losses 💔

Ginnygi · 31/07/2025 21:32

I'm just wondering how supportive/caring everyone's husbands are during this time?

TheFutureIs · 31/07/2025 21:36

Mine has been amazing, but he always has been. This is second time round for me, wish I’d met him years ago.

Mummysparrow · 31/07/2025 21:36

@Ginnygithank you. My anxiety is definitely higher this pregnancy but thankfully I see a therapist so hoping to keep it in check.
My husband has been amazing. He knows first trimester is taxing for me and although I am a bitch during this time, he is just getting on with it. His meeting at work got cancelled today so he made time to come to the scan with me 🥺

DobryWieczor · 31/07/2025 22:54

@Ginnygi my husband has been fab! Very supportive and happy to help in any way I need. We’re newlyweds and weren’t expecting to conceive so quickly but he’s taken it in his stride.

Peanutbutterjelly123 · 31/07/2025 22:56

@Ginnygi in all honesty mine is useless 😂 but they said if I tell him I need something or can’t go something he does it right away & is helping with our toddler a lot more xx

Casper94 · 31/07/2025 22:58

I thought it was a super quiet day until I realised there was a new thread 🤣 lovely to hear about everyone's positive scans ❤️

It has sunk in for any of us yet. A mixture of shock, denial, anger from hubby.

Bumblebee1984 · 01/08/2025 06:16

@IHaveItPrintedOutthat’s great news.

@Ginnygimine has been great. This is his second time although I’m definitely feeling it worse this time round. He’s been doing some extra toddler duties and went out to pick us up a great Thai takeaway the other night as nothing seems to taste right at the moment so needed some spicy food. Anyone else have this? My tastebuds have gone weird. So much tastes bland and just not enjoyable to eat.

@Mumto3kidsletshavenomoreim sorry your hubby is angry. That’s not fair

peanutForever · 01/08/2025 06:47

Just checking in to the new thread
