I had a good NHS scan at 12+4, measuring ahead at 12+6 and NT reading was 2.1mm.

I’d had the NIPT done privately a few days previously (I’m 40 and have had four miscarriages) and heard today from the clinic that the result had come back as invalid owing to failing quality control.

The lab is apparently going to retest the same sample and I should know the results by Friday, although there’s a 10% chance the retest will fail and I’ll need to provide another sample.

I’m now 13+3, starting to show and freaking out that the test failure means something is wrong. I’ve gone from feeling really positive to being convinced there’s an issue :(

@Casper94 mine is on Friday too!! I can’t wait now!!

@gregleti had an nhs NIPT test last Thursday and the lady doing it explained to me that sometimes they might fail to get a result and might have to get another sample but explicitly said it doesn’t mean anything about the results and not to worry if it happens. They will just retest. I totally get how you feel but right now just try to forget about it a bit. That’s what I’m doing. No point worrying until I get the results back. I’m 14 + 2 and very much showing

I was weighed again today at my 13 week scan and I've put on 2 kg since the booking appointment 3 weeks ago!! I am showing quite a bit already but I'm worried that's a bit excessive? I have been surviving basically off cheese due to sickness 🙈 Anyone else the same?

@Bumblebee1984 Thanks for replying - I’m hoping it was just a procedural error and the results will be okay, but it’s super frustrating to have to spend even longer in limbo!

Yeah the limbo is tough. Exactly how I feel. Struggling to feel excited about it all right now

Sorry! I somehow removed my username & locked myself out trying to find messages on the app 😰 (is it obvious I don’t use this much? 🤣) I think I’ve worked it out now but had to tweak my username 🙈

@TheFutureIsit doesn’t seem to work on the App for me, I had to log in via the web to access messages.
but I did also have a name & password change in the process 🤣🤣

@Bumblebee1984the limbo is horrible hope you get your results soon. I have to wait 10 days for my combined screening result as my hospital send it off if high risk they do the NIPt with the bloods they took. Just hoping they come back soon for both of us.

@peanutForeveri also have a raised bmi just over 30 and will need to do a fasting sugar test at 28 weeks to rule out gestational diabetes. Apart from that I haven’t been told to control my weight and won’t be weighing myself in the pregnancy. The first trimester was hard with nausea and mostly I could only eat carbs but will try and be healthier now.

Im on metformin 4 pcos
And they want me off metformin for 2 weeks whilst i do the test

My bmi was 29.5 before ivf

But ive put on weight..

High risk pregnancy 4 so many reasons

Just had our NIPT results back, thankfully all good and found out we are having a girl, which is super exciting
