7weeks today, has anyone had brown discharge? Woke up this morning and there was maybe less than a teaspoon of brown discharge managed to get a phone appointment with GP who didn't seem too concerned. I've not had anymore since which I guess is a good sign, and still have nausea.

Mielbee · 07/01/2025 15:23

I had brown spotting at 9 weeks last pregnancy and all was well. It's good that it's brown (old) and stopped now. It's pretty common and extremely likely that all is well but I do remember the panic of seeing that so I feel for you.

CraftyBugger · 07/01/2025 15:32

@Mielbee that's reassuring, this first trimester is rather scary. GP said just to monitor but there's always this niggle in the back of my mind.

NEMamato5 · 07/01/2025 16:59

Hi all,
I hope you’re well,
I started bleeding on Sunday, so TMI but we dtd on Saturday and then in the evening I had cramps that were radiating around my pelvis and back. I noticed brown spotting on Sunday and on Monday as I stood up I felt something leaking i checked and there was around a tablespoon of bright red blood and a tiny clot, this then resolved and went back to minimal brown spotting. I booked a scan with WTWW this afternoon and I was so shocked to see a little embryo with a heartbeat, they said there was no clear evidence of why I had the bleed. I will just have to see how things go but I still have pregnancy symptoms so fingers crossed. They dated me as 5+5 I wasn’t sure of my LMP and as baby was so tiny it was difficult. I will still be due in August as I will be Induced/Elva at around 39/40. The sonographer said they were happy with the scan so it’s just a waiting game now but I said to the sonographer that I knew it wasn’t good news so it was a lovely surprise.

Is anyone / has anyone gone through this fairly symptomless and things be ok? My last two pregnancies (15 and 13 years ago) I was so sick I couldn’t stand by 6 weeks and it was horrendous.
This time aside from achy period type feelings in my legs, sore (and bigger) boobs and being a bit tired there’s been nothing. No sickness, no nausea, no aversion to smells.. at times I don’t even feel pregnant and it’s so disconcerting. 6+6 today so a fair wait for our scan!

I just texted my husband saying this! I did have very sore boobs (I was sleeping in a bra, usually have lovely little boobs!) and even that’s stopped. I find it so disconcerting! I have what feels like period pains today so I’m thinking maybe my second scan this weekend isn’t going to go so well 😞

Had the first scan at what we thought was 7 weeks two weeks ago and measured at 5+6 and think about 7 weeks again now. Will just have to wait and see!

DragonflyRuby · 07/01/2025 18:27

I hope everyone is getting on OK. Has anyone had a date for their 12w scan yet? I’m 10+4 today with an EDD of 1st August. Had my booking appointment with the midwife yesterday which helped make it all feel a bit more real. And she was really nice and I came back low risk which I was really pleased about. Just waiting impatiently for the date for my scan now!

Still feeling nauseous and gross most days so also hoping this hurries up and passes soon.

DragonflyRuby · 07/01/2025 18:30

@Toppstileslover Sorry you’re worried, it’s such an anxious time. Just to say I’ve had a couple of days where my boob/nausea symptoms have dropped off. At 8 weeks they went for about 3 days and I was really worried but they came back. There’s lots to say that lack of symptoms is no indication to the health of the pregnancy but I know it’s so worrying. I hope your scan goes well.

Lollylei · 07/01/2025 19:07

@DragonflyRuby I’m 10+3 and received my 12 week scan for 20th Jan! It was initially booked for next Wednesday but when I went for my private scan the sonographer said I’d be 11+4 and that would be too early.

@Toppstileslover @NatMarshalll i was worried too because my symptoms have pretty much disappeared, bar big boobs and some light tiredness - but I had a private scan and all was good at the time. The sonographer said as time passes and the baby starts to rely on the placenta, it can sometimes mean peoples symptoms start to ease up a bit. Hope it all goes well for you both, it’s just such an awfully anxious time. Keeping my fingers crossed for us all!

DragonflyRuby · 07/01/2025 19:31

@Lollylei How exciting! I hope I get my date soon. When did you have your last private scan? I had one at 7 + 5 and saw the heartbeat and it looked like a little turtle but I’m so hopeful at getting so see it look like an actual baby!!

Tryingfor3rd · 07/01/2025 20:01

Hiya all, may I join please? Due date is 3rd August. Had my supposed 12 week scan but baby is 10+3, which I expected as I didn't track ovulation but had signs that I had ovulated late. This will be my 3rd baby, have 4 year old DS and 20 month old DD. I haven't caught up with the thread yet but hope everyone is well x

Lollylei · 07/01/2025 20:01

@DragonflyRuby my letter came pretty soon after my booking appointment so hopefully you will be given a date soon! I had one on Saturday just gone so was exactly 10 weeks. Oh I’m so excited for you - you will see their little movements in your next scan too which is so lovely. Is this your first pregnancy?

Scarftown · 08/01/2025 15:33

Can I join? I think I'm technically due 1st of September but I had a late loss last year and I'm 40 so I'm unlikely to be allowed to get to Sept. I'm 6 weeks. The nausea and exhaustion has kicked in and all I want to do is sleep but I am having such vivid dreams it's creeping me out. I have a 3.5 year old who will literally start school as I give birth if all goes to plan and that's causing me some anxiety already.

DragonflyRuby · 08/01/2025 18:48

Welcome & congratulations @Scarftown ❤️

@Lollylei My scan date came today! 24th so I’ll be 13 weeks exactly according to LMP. Hoping the next 2.5 weeks go quickly! Yes it’s my first so very excited, and very nervous!

I hope your pregnancy goes smoothly this time 🤞🏼.
My daughter also starts school this September and my due date is 21st August and I’m so worried about how she’ll cope. She’s a real mummy’s girl too, I feel so guilty 😥.

Tryingfor3rd · 08/01/2025 21:21

@scarftown @fam23 My son is also starting reception in sept, worried about all the changes that he will have to face in short amount of time but really hoping he adapts. I'm really glad that I'll be on maternity when he starts though so taking that as a huge positive.

Tryingfor3rd · 08/01/2025 21:23

Anyone else having evening nausea or sickness? It seems to kick in late afternoon and gets worse as the evening progresses. Didn't have this in my previous 2 pregnancies.

PregnantAtLast · 08/01/2025 21:31

@Tryingfor3rd Yes, my nausea definitely gets worse in the evenings also. I have it when I first wake up until I've eaten something, then it eases for most of the day, then returns with a vengeance about 5.30/6pm!

I've taken to eating very little in the evening and trying to get most of my calories in snacks/ small meals through the day.

Tryingfor3rd · 08/01/2025 21:37

@pregnantatlast yes I know exactly what you mean about that vengeance! I'm usually an absolute foodie but I've had a real lack of appetite since the start of this pregnancy. I was off of steak before I even tested which is really weird as I wouldn't have thought hormones would have caused such an effect so early on. I hope your nausea eases soon!

We moved house and she started a new creche in the space of a few weeks. Apart from a little bit of unsettled sleep she took it all in her stride. I'd say they'll all adapt really well!

Toppstileslover · 09/01/2025 04:19

I don’t get the nausea but I do realise I have one symptom: waking up in the night! I don’t think I’ve slept past 3am since before I found out. I wake up 3-6 am (actually usually with a start from not very nice dreams) then go back to sleep for an hour.

im very active, walk a lot, do reformer 3-5 a week and always slept before so it literally must be the hormones! 😴

That's reassuring. I'm taking it as a huge positive that I can be on Mat Leave while at school so she will have more time with me etc. but maybe I'm naive and it will be hell doing the school run with a newborn

strawberrylaces12 · 09/01/2025 09:59

Does anyone have any tips for a very increased appetite? Any healthier snacks people find satisfying? I'm 8 and a half weeks pregnant.

I feel like I'm eating quite a lot more and I'm trying to keep healthy but often craving things like crisps and some chocolate. I've been trying to keep an eye on my weight just to make sure I'm not suddenly piling it on in an unhealthy weight but I weighed myself this morning for the first time in about a week and I've actually lost a little bit of weight?? So much for not needing extra calories until the 3rd trimester 😂

Row23 · 09/01/2025 10:10

@strawberrylaces12 same! I’m really enjoying cheap white bread. I’ve definitely put on more weight than I’d like.
I think it’s just a case of eating what you can and trying to sneak little healthy bits in. Carrots and hummus are good.
I made some blueberry muffins yesterday which I guess isn’t totally healthy but at least has a bit of fruit in!

Glad to hear I'm not alone with this 😂 so I tend to eat wholemeal bread anyway but definitely more so now due to constipation 😅 ooh yeah carrots and hummus sounds good! I love blueberry muffins, yum! I was convinced I'd put some weight on but turns out it's just quite a lot of bloating (for now anyway!).

I think the thing is I love basically all food and just want to eat it all, even more than I would normally 😂 I have been craving samosas on and off since new years because a party I went to had them at the buffet. No 'weird' cravings yet, just cravings for all food! Have you had any odd cravings or is it more just for food in general? 😊
