Hi all! Didn’t see an August thread yet so here we go.

I got my BFP today and my EDD is 2nd of August next year.

I’m 37 and this is my second baby, I have a son who’ll be 2 next month.

Evening ladies, I’m only 4 weeks close to 5. Have been having quite a painful sharp pain that lasts for a second or two repeatedly for the last hour just below my belly button maybe slightly to the left. Has anyone had anything like this? My first pregnancy and obviously as soon as I’ve googled it’s said ectopic so worrying now, although I’m hoping the pain is abit too high..

Moosey898 · 06/12/2024 19:00

@KT199 congratulations! Little pains are totally normal don't worry 😊 give it a few days and see if it settles down a bit x

OneGladTiger · 06/12/2024 19:13

There’s going to be so many August babies 😍 I told my first person in real life today. I was on a training course so I sort of had to disclose it just in case but that was really exciting. I think I’ll be 6 weeks on Sunday and scan booked for the 22nd 🤞🏻

I had something similar two days ago but on my right side. It’s gone now. I think these little niggles and pains are normal. I’ve seen so many posts so it looks like it’s fairly common.

So reassuring to hear, thank you so much! I’ve had a bath (albeit a tepid one 😂 which makes me kinda sad I love a hot bath) and it seems to have gone 😊🤞

KT199 · 06/12/2024 19:36

Ohhh @Parks17 hello!!! 🥹 I was nervous to come over with it still being so early 🤣

Tepid 😭 I like my bath water as hot as lava. No baths for me for the foreseeable future 🥲 unless it’s really painful, don’t stress about it! And lol some of us have been in this group at barely 4 weeks!! 🤣

MakingLemonadealways · 06/12/2024 20:38

Hi all!

Sooo excited to be here! I am 5 weeks 3 days from our first cycle so I’m very much in shock right now. Would love to join a WhatsApp group, would be great to have the support since not many people know in real life. Feel like I’m entering a whole new world…

Mummyto5XXXXX · 06/12/2024 21:16

hi ladies 👋 was not going to join as it is still early days for me & im feeling rather 😬 at the minute! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Chie1999 · 06/12/2024 22:58

I stayed away from the bath today just I case. I would love to be on the WhatsApp group as well. Has anyone been getting severe headaches?

Yes pretty bad but not ever day. Got some more painful cramps today also. Ready to sleep it all off.

Can anyone recommend any herbal teas, all my favs seem to be off limit?

I spoke to a gp and they recommended paracetamol, so I will start taking that.

I have found one cause roibos tea which is caffeine free, I'm going to try it and see if it works in giving me a bit of energy

MyUniqueDeer · 07/12/2024 00:20

Hi all, I tested positive on Monday! First pregnancy and i’m incredibly anxious, I’m 4weeks +5.
I have pcos and carry a gene for blood clots so miscarriage is a little more likely (so I got told years ago)
I’ve booked a private scan in just after Xmas to put my mind at ease, but I’m just imagining my period coming any moment. Is bizarre that I want to tell people for reassurance but don’t incase anything happens. Really is an odd feeling!

Autumn245 · 07/12/2024 06:08

@MakingLemonadealways I use Bird & Blend teas which do lots of different flavours and can get decaf 😊

ttcbabyno2x · 07/12/2024 07:05

@KT199 hey, I have had a previous ectopic where I lost my tube from a rupture. I got unbearable pain (but only 2 or 3 times) across my lower stomach and in my bowel. It only appeared a few times but it was that bad I couldn’t sleep/get out of bed. Little sharpe pains are completely normal and is usually your uterus starting to stretch. For peace of mind you could call epu and they would give you an early scan to make sure the pregnancy is in the right place xx

ttcbabyno2x · 07/12/2024 07:07

im still so early 🙈 af is due Monday but I tested 8DPO 🤣 I’m a little worried as I ovulated really late on cd28 (usually cd17) and online it says egg quality can be negatively impacted if you ovulate after day 21. Has anyone else ovulated late? Or ovulated later in a previous successful pregnancy? Xx

Attheyard · 07/12/2024 07:37

@MakingLemonadealways I’m still drinking one coffee first thing in the mornings before switching to decaf, but have you tried hot water and lemon? Or hot water and orange juice? I know it sounds not very exciting but somehow they really hit the spot for me when I want something warm and “tea” like without having an actual tea.

Morning! Thank you I guess I was worried as it was in the exact same spot on and off over the course of an hour or two in the end. I had another few twinges there later in the night too and the pain also seemed so high to be uterus related as it was just below my belly button!

Thank you though it’s reassuring what you have said. I think I am a little too early for EPU to see me, I think they would only check from 6 weeks onwards and I’m just coming upto 5 but will bare it in mind if it continues and maybe just call and see what they say!

Peanut91 · 07/12/2024 07:55

Hi All

Hope it's ok to join. I got my BFP on Thursday and it was rather unexpected. I only tested because DH asked if I could because he was getting a bit twitchy as AF hadn't arrived. I wasn't concerned as my cycles are very long and irregular plus I was very ill back in October (and in hospital) so assumed that had just put my periods out of whack even more 🙈

We already have 2 wonderful boys but had said that we're very much done at 2.... apparently not! Based on my LMP I would be 10 weeks but I know for certain that's not possible as that would have meant DTD whilst I was very sick in hospital! So based on my own calculations I think I am 5 weeks exactly today. I did a self referral to the midwife on Thursday and have already received a booking appointment for 12th Dec. I assume that's because they have based my EDD on my LMP despite me saying on my referral that I'm definitely only 5 weeks along.

As far as symptoms I have a bit of fatigue, my appetite has gone through the roof, except first thing when I can't stomach breakfast and my boobs are sore. I'm just waiting for the nausea to hit as I had terrible nausea with both previous pregnancies all the way to giving birth. I also had two extremely complicated pregnancies and was on and out of hospital with both so praying that this time around it can be more straightforward

DragonflyRuby · 07/12/2024 09:13

I hope you’re ok @KT199 I’m 6 + 1 and have had quite a lot of cramps/twinges and it’s really hard not to worry. Have you had any bleeding? I’m just trying to tell myself it’s just the baby burrowing in and everything stretching. I’ve heard it’s normal to have more pains from the side you ovulated from because of the corpus luteum.

Congratulations @Peanut91 @MyUniqueDeer @Mummyto5XXXXX @ttcbabyno2x ❤️

@Chie1999 I’m having a lot more headaches than normal and a couple have turned to migraines which I never normally get. Apparently really common in pregnancy (and menopause I’m told!) because of the hormone shift. I’m going to get some of those cooling strips & forehead balm, but I have taken paracetamol a few times when it’s bad.

@MakingLemonadealways I love Teapigs herbal teas, they’re so good. And at the moment I’m loving Pukka triple Ginger! I am having one coffee a day through!

KT199 · 07/12/2024 09:38

@DragonflyRuby I think today would be 2 weeks from conception, but 4+4 in terms of LMP for me.

I haven’t had any bleeding no, just trying to remind myself everything is out of my control now and nature will take its course. That seems to be helping (slightly). If the pains continue in exact same spot then I will look to book an early viability scan at 6 weeks for a bit of reassurance in terms of position! Interesting the comment about side I ovulated from, as I had a scan to confirm ovulation this month and it was the left which is where I am getting this pain!

This anxiety is a whole new ball game isn’t it 😂 wow I was naive to think once I saw them two lines I would just be elated and at peace!

DragonflyRuby · 07/12/2024 10:21

@KT199 Yes so much anxiety! I agree though we just have to ride it out. The thought “Today I’m Pregnant” is really helping me and it’s definitely good sign there’s no bleeding with the pain. I’ve got a scan booked on 18th when I’ll be 7+5 so just counting down the days to that and telling myself that then I’ll feel more relaxed but I think I’m kidding myself! 😂

MakingLemonadealways · 07/12/2024 14:53

Thanks for all the hot drink recommendations peeps!!

I know, I have been trying to track progression between tests too and that’s also stressing me out so think I may just need to stop. I’m either 14-16 DPO depending on ovu and havent got lines equal to control line as such yet, especially on my cheapie wondfo strips.

Ahhh good luck for your scan, you’ll have to keep us all updated!!

I didn't get a dye stealer until around 23dpo on a FRER (wasn't testing every day, but was after 20 dpo).

Attached photo is my 28dpo test (this afternoon) without doing much of a hold! I'm 6 weeks today (or 7+2 based on LMP which will be wrong 😂)

So your 14-16 dpo is still really early for wanting your dye stealer!
