Hi all! Didn’t see an August thread yet so here we go.

I got my BFP today and my EDD is 2nd of August next year.

I’m 37 and this is my second baby, I have a son who’ll be 2 next month.

Welcome to all other August mums-to-be and please introduce yourselves! ♥️

@Ssazmum most of my symptoms were at peak from 4 to 9 weeks last time so you’re really not too early! It took until week 14 for some of the first trimester stuff to fully lift and then you’re onto the next set of weird things, like starting to show/feel movements/insane heartburn/hip pain 🤣

Tbh I found that the anxiety never really leaves. At this point you think it’ll get better after an early scan, then after that you think it’ll get better after your 12 week scan, then after that you think it’ll get better after your anatomy scan, and after that you think you’ll feel better once you’ve past “viability”, and then after you’ve hit term, and then once you’ve given birth, and then once they’ve gotten rid of their jaundice and gained some weight, and then it goes on forever because you’re a mother and the worry about these little beings never stops. Maybe that’s just me 🤣 what I would say is that the anxiety is understandable but all you can do is look after yourself and try to manage your feelings about the other elements which are outside your control ♥️ talking it out often helps!

@Parks17 glad it’s not just me. I am not a fan! Starting to think it’s my most obvious symptom, I’m busting out of my bras.

@TinkRose that's great news!

@Ssazmum Same! 5 weeks tomorrow, and wondering if it's a sticky one this time. Still struggling to feel like it's real, despite all the symptoms.

Is anyone up for a WhatsApp group?

Parks17 · 05/12/2024 21:25

@LolaJ87 me too hardly any of my bras fit and I don't wanna spend a fortune on more cos I have no idea when this growth spurt is gonna stop!

I think tonight is the first night they've not constantly hurt!

Workingmammabear · 05/12/2024 22:19

@Parks17 I bought soooo many bras last time. In the end the best ones were these Calvin klein maternity bras. I found i didn't grow out of them as the band and cup sizes seem to accommodate me as I grew. My boobs got enormous! https://www.calvinklein.co.uk/maternity-bra-modern-cotton-000qf6218e001

LolaJ87 · 05/12/2024 22:30

@sabretoothtigger I’m definitely up for a WhatsApp group! We had one in my last due date group and it was fab support. Maybe we should wait a little longer til we have all the August due dates in the thread and then we can get get it going for anyone interested?

So game for a WhatsApp group, desperate to talk to someone about this, it’s killing me not telling people but also nervous to before 12 weeks !

DragonflyRuby · 06/12/2024 06:39

Morning all, I hope everyone is doing OK? I’m 6 weeks today and the nausea is definitely starting to ramp up. At the moment it’s worst first and last thing and laying in bed seems to make it worse which is annoying!

@LolaJ87 I have sore boobs but not the burning! My nipple feel itchy/irritated and my boobs feel really swollen already. I hope it’s not too uncomfortable for you!

I’d love to join a WhatsApp group but I’ll hold off for a while longer as there are people we haven’t told in real life and it would be funny but awkward if we actually know anyone in this group!

Ssazmum · 06/12/2024 07:23

@LolaJ87 even though you say it doesn’t leave this actually makes me feel so much better! It’s just knowing you’re not alone in these feelings!

officially 5 weeks today which feels like a mini milestone - I’m going to hold off on testing again until at least the weekend.

A part of me feels like AF is just going to rock up, I’m day 36 of my cycle which is usually around 30/31 days so it should be fine but last month it was 37 so I really want to get past then (but last month all tests were negative so that’s a big difference this time!)

Lulu89x · 06/12/2024 09:11

I’m up for a WhatsApp group!

Had my first wave of bad nausea last night. Ran to the bathroom a few times but couldn’t throw up.. kept me up until almost 2AM! Finally fell asleep but woke up at 6 with insane heartburn. What natural remedies can help with this?! 😩

Is anyone else having the most insane dreams or is it just me?

Tadpolecat · 06/12/2024 09:28

I would join a WhatsApp group too! The January 2022 group died out on here after all bubs were born and we lost contact, so I missed that with my son! It would be nice to keep in touch.

I've had no nausea still, but i didn't with my son, so I'm hoping this time will be the same! I just gagged a bit more when brushing my teeth.

ttcbabyno2x · 06/12/2024 09:45

Morning ladies! Can I join?

Got my bfp on Tuesday morning from a faint line, Wednesday the line got so much darker and today the line isn’t much different from Wednesday so I am over analysing and worrying the line has stopped getting darker.

from my dates I think I’m due around 17th August ❤️

adding my postive tests
first pic 8DPO, second pic 10DPO, third pic 11 DPO

congratulations to you all! Xxx

Hey Ladies, hope it’s okay if I join! I got my BFP a few days ago, still don’t think it’s sunk in and still VERY cautious and unsure but keeping everything crossed 🤞. I don’t seem to have very many symptoms at the moment, I thought AF was gonna show, My boobs are quite sore and I’ve had a few pains in my stomach. My sense of smell seems to be very keen too!

Congratulations everyone 🥹🫶🏻 hope we all get happy, healthy babies!!!

Lulu89x · 06/12/2024 11:19

@ttcbabyno2x @KT199 Welcome and congrats! :)

MrsLRT · 06/12/2024 11:24

Hi all,
Lovely to see lots of new mamas joining! Totally get the anxiety, I was the same in my last pregnancy and I don't think it ever fully goes away! I'm just trying to go with the "today I am pregnant" and focusing on that. My nausea has really ramped up the past few days and I've been stuck in bed, not really keeping any food down but managing to stay hydrated. Back to GP this morning who's prescribed prochlorperazine and signed me off work for a few weeks. The exhaustion has hit a new level, napping for 2-3 hours each afternoon and I haven't napped since my daughter was born 2 and a half years ago! Trying to stay positive, it will all be worth it in the end. Counting down the days to my scan a week tomorrow!

Moosey898 · 06/12/2024 11:43

Booked an early scan in through the EPU for next Friday when I will be 7 weeks. Keeling everything crossed it shows things progressing as they should. Last 2 times I've had a slow heartbeat at the 7 week scan so I knew it wasn't going to work out from then.

Ssazmum · 06/12/2024 11:55

Welcome to the thread & congrats on your BPF ladies!

So glad to have everyone here as a source of support. I've had some light nausea but half of me is convinced it's just me making it up haha!

Attheyard · 06/12/2024 13:33

@Ssazmum same here. Extremely light nausea my only real symptom at the moment. I’m somewhere between 4-5 weeks and it’s really hard not to overthink my lack of symptoms. But then judging by some of you ladies who are a bit further ahead, maybe mine will kick in more in the next few weeks.

@Moosey898 crossing my fingers for you. Hope the EPU are on it and wishing you a good outcome!

Emelene · 06/12/2024 13:41

Hi ladies! Would love a WhatsApp group at some point. In my previous pregnancy we ended up with a Facebook mumsnet group too which could be an idea if people would use it? It’s a nice place to post baby photos. 😊

Similar symptoms here, boobs have grown loads and my nipples are often really pointy. 😅 Also just started with some nausea and just not feeling too hungry. So grateful to be still in the group after my EPU scan though. 😊 I’ve been a bit breathless too. Super tired this week but I put it down to the worry of waiting for my EPU scan. Of course I’ve gone straight back to work with loads of extra work to do as I missed a few days. Taking it a bit easier today though as I’m so tired!

Moosey898 · 06/12/2024 14:32

@Attheyard thank you! I'm lucky that my EPU are brilliant, I know all the nurses by name (and they know me by name 😂) - not for happy reasons lol but always nice to have a good relationship with them.

SkylarHBS · 06/12/2024 14:58

Hi, only recently found out I’m pregnant so joined this website to find out more. I’m just coming up to 5 weeks and also due in the beginning on august.
I have endometriosis and one of my tubes is swollen so the doctors had warned me there is a higher chance of an ectopic pregnancy which is slightly worrying but I’m hoping for the best.
I’d be very keen to join a WhatsApp group too if that’s okay.

Autumn245 · 06/12/2024 16:06

I'd be keen to join a WhatsApp group too whenever it's set up. My first scan is booked for 23rd December, should be 7 weeks then. Hoping to tell family on Xmas day although I've told a few closer members already.
So far no nausea, which kicked in at 5 weeks with my DD and no other symptoms, but been fighting off a cold/flu the last few days, so have a splitting sore head.

Is anyone going for early scans or is most waiting for the 12 week scan?

Lulu89x · 06/12/2024 16:11

@Autumn245 I think quite a few have booked early scans for the 23rd December. I have a scan booked for the 24th. I should be 8+ weeks by then so hoping to see more 🤞🏻

Thank God it’s Friday. I’m really struggling to stay awake during the day! I’m just so tired all the time!

I also have endometriosis and tried to speak to my GP about my worries regarding that and pregnancy - I didn't get much back other then 'early pregnancy is risky for everyone so fingers crossed!!' Which didn't help my anxiety!

Hoping for the best for you ❤️❤️

ThatLivelyLurker · 06/12/2024 18:32

Hi all! Can I join? Got a positive a few days ago and I should be 5 weeks 3 days with a 05 August due date (although I am irregular so that could be off!). I’m 32 and this would be my first baby. So far I have had sore boobs, headaches, fatigue and low-level nausea. Have also had bursts of insatiable hunger - you should have seen my Wetherspoons order yesterday, ha!

Comforting to read about the anxieties others have about navigating the xmas period in first trimester. Tonight is the first social event I’ve turned down because of the pregnancy. Sober karaoke did not seem enticing compared to relaxing at home but I feel a little guilty for letting down my friends, especially as I can’t tell them my very good excuse!
