I feel like I had a big hormone surge yesterday. Exhausted, headache, ramped up waves of nausea, boobs hurting more and I was very moody. Feeling much the same today too.

Does anyone wear a Fitbit or smartwatch? My RHR has jumped up a huge amount.

Yes my RHR has gone crazy the past two weeks. It’s usually about 63 and it’s now consistently 75+. Some nights I struggle to sleep because I just feel like my heart is pounding away!

LolaJ87 · 05/12/2024 09:23

@OneGladTiger glad it's not just me! Mine had jumped from low-mid 70's to low-mid 80's and now as of today it's 87! Our bodies must be very busy.

I got really breathless on a dog walk the other day, and noticed my RHR is around late 70s or 80s which is a little alarming.

I also read about not overheating and freaked out because I’ve been really hot every night recently, and my heart rate got up to 178 on my run on Saturday (before I found out about the baby). I’m sure logically it is all fine but how do I turn off this constant worry alarm in my head?!

Not too many symptoms here, just a little bit of very mild nausea and a headache. It’s hard having a long cycle and not being too sure on dates. I can’t understand if I’m 4 weeks or 5 weeks as calculators keep giving me different answers. Is it the dating scan which will give us the definitive answer or does anyone know if my early scan or booking appointment, or even 12 week scan might give us a clear idea?

Autumn245 · 05/12/2024 09:57

Hi everyone, hoping to join in on this thread. I have a 2 year old daughter conceived through IVF and did an embryo transfer 2 weeks ago for a sibling which was successful! Due date 10th August. Currently don't have any symptoms but a horrid cold/flu which won't budge.

LolaJ87 · 05/12/2024 10:00

@Attheyard your 12 week scan is your dating scan, so that's the definitive answer. Until then, I would go off LMP as that's what will be used officially up until your dating scan, but then don't worry if you measure a few days behind on your early scan.

When I was pregnant with my son I measured 5 days behind at an early scan and 4 days behind at my 12 week dating scan. They changed my due date based on that. I tracked ovulation this time so even though my cycles aren't long, I know I don't ovulate until CD17 or 18, so it's likely I'll measure 3 or 4 days behind again. I hope this makes sense!

Also on the overheating, it's more like saunas, jacuzzis and fevers they're worried about, things that raise your core temperature. Keeping up your normal exercise shouldn't be a problem, especially in winter, just make sure you're listening to your body and keeping well hydrated.

Someone else said they would miss hot baths - there's no need! Just get a bath thermometer, you'll want one for the baby anyway. 37 degrees is pretty hot and that's safe to bathe in.

@Autumn245 huge congratulations and welcome! My little boy is 2 this week so we will have similar age gaps.

@LolaJ87 I’ve not been tracking my HR but I could literally feel it pumping so fast when I was in bed last night!

@Emelene sooo glad it’s good news for you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I made it through my work trip without too many alcohol questions! The German non alcoholic beer is amazing!!

My RHR used to be in the 60s. Sitting here at my desk having a relatively chilled afternoon, it is sitting at 76! I constantly feel out of breath. Is this normal for 5 weeks? My sleep is also absolutely horrendous at the moment! Cannot stay asleep longer than four hours!

LolaJ87 · 05/12/2024 14:11

@Lulu89x @Boymum3722 @OneGladTiger I vaguely remember this happening last time and then just going back to normal, but I can't remember when! Just wanted to mention that in case it settles overnight for someone, that's normal too.

@Lulu89x I would speak to someone about feeling out of breath through, I've not heard of that this early and it's worth getting checked out.

I'm 6 weeks and I'm constantly out of breathe even from just walking up the stairs - it's awful!

Parks17 · 05/12/2024 15:13

I got an email from the hospital with a code for Badgernotes, then a second email saying to download the app and register.

when I try to register it says the details aren't correct?! Has anyone else had this????

I then got a seperate text message from an unknown number stating a date and time for an appointment at my local GP surgery on New Year's Eve - I can only imagine this is my booking appointment?

It's such a shock to me. I generally train (weight lifting) 4-5 days a week. I have not been since Saturday because I can barely even get dressed without feeling like I'm out of breath! That paired with the fatigue.

What is badgernotes? I've never even heard of it! All I did was created an account with my hospital and I have access to my letters and appointments online. I'm based in London.

It's really terrible - as soon as I log off from work I'm laying down on the sofa because I need a rest!!

It's an app that I had to self refer through, but you can't make an account without the 'code' and the code that they're emailed me doesn't work!

Apparently this app isn't good at the best of times, from what I've heard this is where all of the appointments and tests ect are stored

sabretoothtigger · 05/12/2024 16:47

I'm really out of breath too. I don't remember it being as bad in previous pregnancies.

And @Lulu89x I hadn't been staying asleep for more than 3 or 4 hours the last couple of weeks, but now the fatigue has got worse, I finally sleep through a full night last night. Long may that continue!

sabretoothtigger · 05/12/2024 16:56

Oh and @Parks17 I did have trouble logging in to Badgernotes last time, but it's months ago now and I can't remember how I got it sorted in the end. Sorry, not much help, but it's not just you. It was either glitchy and I reinstalled and rebooted, or i was entering something in the wrong place (but it's just the email you registered with and passcode, isn't it?)

Yeah it's so frustrating.

I've deleted and reinstalled, and used the email that they sent me to code to, as well as the code. And nothing!

I might have to give the number a call and try to speak to someone, seems like it should be so straight forward lol

Workingmammabear · 05/12/2024 17:56

@Lulu89x I had awful fatigue and breathlessness with my first, it's not been so bad this time around. My first is a super healthy 2 year old now so I think it's normal :)

LolaJ87 · 05/12/2024 18:45

My boobs have been tender up until now…. But today they feel a bit like they’re burning intermittently. Anyone else experiencing this?

OP posts:
TinkRose · 05/12/2024 18:51

Blood results are back - my HCG levels have more than doubled so good news! I’m thinking of booking an early scan but I think I’ll be 8 weeks on Boxing Day, can’t decide whether to book for before or after Christmas. I don’t want to feel like Christmas is ruined if I have the scan before and it’s not good news.

I’ve found myself feeling breathless today too - not through exercise, more when I couldn’t sing as much in the car! 😂

No, mine aren’t even tender really!

Yes I've found a reoccurring burning sensation and sometimes if I stand up fast it feels like I've pulled something!

Ssazmum · 05/12/2024 21:11

I’m definitely so breathless too! I went to the gym tonight and my watch said I burnt 100more cals than normal which is crazy! My RHR is always around 80 which feels so high.

I should be 5 weeks tomorrow so it feels way too early for all this. Hoping it’s a good sign as honestly I’m feeling so anxious about whether this pregnancy is ‘real’ & if it’ll stick. Is anyone else struggling with this?

Chie1999 · 05/12/2024 21:17

Hey I feel the same too, I'm over calculating and constantly thinking is this actually real. I need to start going back to the gym but I have been every demotivated recently

Not burning but the pain is on and off! I forget where I’m at sometimes and my male colleague caught me prodding the side of my boob today 🫣😂

@Workingmammabear I do hope this gets better. I cannot function at work like this!
