Hi all, just wanted to start a new thread to use once the old one fills up. I'm due 03/06/2025 and currently 11 weeks exactly. Looking forward to first trimester being over! Has everyone booked in their booking appointments yet/got dates for the 12 week scan?

Here's a link to the old thread for book keeping: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5171110-due-june-2025

@BertLiv good to hear crisis averted, hopefully they arrive tomorrow!

@codemytea oh no! Plead pregnancy brain?

@38startingagain great pic! Not very prawn like at all!

I've had my dating scan appointment through today. It's for the 4th, so I'll be 12+1. I've chosen combined screening and will get the NIPT if anything comes back high risk.

HystericalDinosaur · 19/11/2024 09:07

How's everyone doing?
Can't remember who asked but it was just one vial for the NIPT for me.
I'm 11+4 and haven't been sick today which is making me anxious (recurrent miscarriages). How's everyone else feeling? My NHS scan isn't until 12+6.

BertLiv · 19/11/2024 12:54

@YorkshirePeridot They haven't arrived yet, but I'm still holding out hope. Otherwise, the drive to the clinic isn't too bad, just not ideal!

@HystericalDinosaur From what I've read on here, symptoms coming and going is normal and so hopefully you not being sick is nothing to worry about. Have you asked your midwife? I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and my nausea seems to be getting worse, and lasting all day, but I've still only actually been sick once. Try to stay positive!

brisses · 19/11/2024 14:35

I'm having trouble joining the Facebook page by that link could anybody please invite me? My name is alysha boot profile pic is me and my partner on holiday with sea in background

All my symptoms disappeared between 8-9 weeks, was so worried but turns out all was fine it was just my placenta starting to take over.

Ive felt a little nauseas after eating certain foods again, but everything is subsiding now I’m hitting 11w3d.

I had a scan at 11w1d before NIPT and baby was moving around just fine :)

ThisElatedMintDreamer · 19/11/2024 16:00

Hi all,
hope you’re all doing well. Just wondering who do I contact about scans? Would it be my midwife or the hospital? I’m 10 weeks on Thursday and I’m yet to receive my 12 week scan appointment.

Also, has anyone been told they may not be able to deliver at their chosen hospital? I cannot deliver at my closest hospital as I need to be under a consultant (local is midwife only) my second closest hospital have closed their birthing unit and have no guarantees as to when it will reopen!

xMrsxHx87x · 19/11/2024 16:03

@ThisElatedMintDreamer I'm in the same boat. I'll be 11 weeks on Friday and still haven't had a 12 week scan through. I asked my midwife at my booking appointment last week (the day I hit 10 weeks) and she said I just have to wait for the appointment letter. I think I'm going to wait until Monday and call the maternity services phone line if nothing has come through. Booked a private scan in the meantime for this Friday.

Snap! Mine is also on the 4th and I’ll be 12+4. I’m beginning to get anxious about it. Almost two weeks to go 😬

BertLiv · 19/11/2024 18:30

So, my prontogest has still not arrived and I’ll have to get some from the clinic tomorrow if it doesn’t arrive then either. The clinic said it is fine to not take it tonight, as I’m about to go to alternating days anyway, but it feels really wrong and I feel like I’m endangering little olive.😕

MittensForKittens123 · 19/11/2024 20:19

@HystericalDinosaur my sickness was at its worst last week, I’m 11 weeks tomorrow, and I’ve been feeling ok the last 2 days. So hopefully it’s all normal.

EmotionalSleeper · 19/11/2024 21:53

I'm going to be 12 weeks tomorrow.

I'm feel like my symptoms are getting worse, I'm constantly tired but struggle to fall asleep, and my emotions are at an all-time high!! I cry a lot!

I'm really struggling with my body changing, I know it's going to change, and it's a good thing, but with clothes not fitting, it's making me sad.

Is anyone feeling the same? X

Bb542 · 20/11/2024 06:33

Forgot to update the thread but I had my 12 week scan last week and all looks good. Also got my NIPT results and they came back "very low probability" 🥰 so happy

CAM8891 · 20/11/2024 06:55

@ThisElatedMintDreamer my notes have a list of contacts on, one is the scan department and the midwife said if I haven't had my appointment by 10 weeks to call them direct, do you have any contact number for yours?

I’m 10 weeks today and only have my booking appointment today as I referred myself quite late. So I also don’t know when my 12 week scan will be. I’m going to ask today and will let you know later - in case it helps.

BertLiv · 20/11/2024 18:16

I had my booking appointment today, which was interesting - it’s starting to feel real now! My dating scan is booked for 4/12 when I’ll be exactly 12 weeks. Apparently, I’m considered at a slight risk due to my age and it being an IVF pregnancy, but she wasn’t worried. She said that I should arrange a flu jab and decide whether I want a Covid jab. Is anyone getting a Covid jab?

@ThisElatedMintDreamer if you haven’t heard yet, I’d contact your midwife to see if she can book your dating scan. Hopefully she’ll be able to book it easily!

YorkshirePeridot · 20/11/2024 18:31

@BertLiv I got a covid jab. I originally wasn't bothered either way but when I arrived at the flu clinic I was asked if I wanted both at the same time. No negative effects bar a slightly sore arm.

I think that's 3 of us now having our dating scan on the 4th!

Stef92 · 20/11/2024 18:55

I opted against the covid jab, I didn't react well to it when I had it previously plus likely had covid in September as my son was coughing badly and my dad (who does childcare after nursery school) tested positive before he was due his jab.

My dating scan is 02/12 and I'll either be 12+2 (lmp) or 12 weeks exactly (epu scan)

Hrf1503 · 20/11/2024 20:14

I had my 12 week scan today and they’ve brought my DD forward to 31 May… they did the same with my daughter though and she was 10 days late so I’m going to stay in this group ☺️

After a MMC in July it was such a relief to see baby girl wriggling around in there ❤️

MittensForKittens123 · 20/11/2024 21:19

My scan was supposed to be the 4th, but I’ve moved it to the 5th so my husband can come with me. I’m starting to feel a bit worried about the fact that I’m nearly 40, and what that could mean.

Had my booking in appointment at the weekend. All seemed pretty smooth - I’ll have to be under shared care as I’ve had a previous emergency c-section.

I’ve applied for a TfL baby on board badge, and I’m really looking forward to it arriving as so tired on the tube commuting now!

@Hrf1503 I've been moved to 30th May as well! In my case, first pregnancies apparently on average progress to 40+5 so I'm expecting a June baby still too

MittensForKittens123 · 20/11/2024 21:26

@codemytea my first pregnancy went to 42+5, which I really wouldn’t recommend!!

dmb91 · 20/11/2024 22:57

Oh my goodness @MittensForKittens123!
My first was born at 40+4 and that was bad enough 😂

MittensForKittens123 · 21/11/2024 04:14

@dmb91 the last 2 weeks felt like a year!

BertLiv · 21/11/2024 09:07

@YorkshirePeridot I still don't know what to do, so I may just book the flu jab for now and keep thinking about the covid jab. I had my three jabs before, but half my family are serious antivaxxers and, I haven't spoken to them about it, but I can hear in my mind what they'd say. I wish my midwife had recommended yes or no, instead of saying it was our decision!

Exciting that three of us all have the same dating scan date - hopefully it'll be a wonderful day for us all!

@Stef92 I also didn't react well to it after the first jab either, and when I got actual covid I felt awful for about 10 days. But I don't really go many places as I work from home - so it's only really food shopping (which I could start ordering in) and the very occasional meal out somewhere, so we initially figured it wouldn't be worth it. I really don't know though.

I've asked my clinic as well but figure everywhere will refrain from giving a definite recommendation.

Haha I got a baby on board badge in my pack yesterday when I met my midwife, I thought it was a really nice touch as I've been getting really tired travelling back home on the bus - obviously it's always packed, and I've been finding my balance a bit thrown off recently.
