Hi all, just wanted to start a new thread to use once the old one fills up. I'm due 03/06/2025 and currently 11 weeks exactly. Looking forward to first trimester being over! Has everyone booked in their booking appointments yet/got dates for the 12 week scan?

Here's a link to the old thread for book keeping: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5171110-due-june-2025

We have to pay £5 per picture at our hospital, same when I had scan with my son in 2022

Needcoffee24 · 15/11/2024 13:01

Unfortunately I've had a missed miscarriage. No heartbeat and Baby was measuring 7+5 I'm currently 9+5. Have booked to have a d&c.
It's been a massive emotional rollercoaster getting pregnant with a iud and lots of scares on the way from ectopic/ threatened miscarriage to seeing a strong healthy heartbeat at 7+2.
Hope you all go on to have wonderful pregnancies.

@Needcoffee24 im so sorry to hear this! Take care of yourself xx

Thank you ladies who replied to my previous post. I’ve been to the doctors today for further bloods and an appointment for iron. I’m a bit peed if I’m honest. I explained to the doctor that I do not tolerate iron tablets and never have (awful migraines and constipation). I asked about the transfusion as suggested by the midwife and the doctor said he would not be jumping to a transfusion as it requires being in hospital and would ‘pull me from my other important duties’?? I was a bit gobsmacked to be honest by his response, especially when the midwife advised it. He has put me on iron tablets and I have to take 1 every other day, but if I cannot tolerate them then he will ‘reluctantly’ look into transfusion. Annoys me to no end that he wouldn’t listen when I’ve never tolerated iron tablets since I was 12 y/o

Oh I’m so so sorry! The biggest fear :( I hope you can find time to heal and I wish you the best for your recovery ❤️‍🩹

xMrsxHx87x · 15/11/2024 18:11

So sorry to hear that @Needcoffee24. Wishing you all the best and I hope you have plenty of support.

xMrsxHx87x · 15/11/2024 18:19

I've finally had my booking appointment, currently 10 weeks today. It was a bit of a a mess though. The midwife didn't tell me the location of the appointment had changed, so I went to the wrong place and sat for 15 minutes waiting: I only found out it had moved when I contacted the midwife to ask if she was coming. So that got my back up! But the appointment otherwise was fine. Just hope I get my 12 week scan appointment through sooner rather than later. I have a big weekend away with family and friends starting the day I hit 12 weeks. I'm really hoping to share the news then, but I don't want to make any announcements until we have the reassurance things are progressing.

Hi everyone, I just realised I had a 4 week old DM sitting with someone asking for the facebook link, so sorry again!! Posted it here for any other takers.

I am struggling a bit with engaging on this forum because there's so much chat, understandably!!, so I think I will just keep away from here just now.

If the link expires after someone wants to join, do tag or DM me though xx

Anyone still cramping? I'm 10 weeks(ish) tomorrow and I've just felt lousy all day and the cramps are endless atm. Makes me worry as didn't feel like this before with my first. I get more nauseous in the evening but the cramps are back since getting in from work

MittensForKittens123 · 16/11/2024 07:23

@Stef92 I’m not cramping, but I’m finding this pregnancy so different from my first- still spotting every day, and feeling so sick. I’m 10 weeks as well. I can see now why they say not to compare pregnancies.

xMrsxHx87x · 16/11/2024 11:32

@Stef92 I was very crampy at first, constantly felt like I was due on my period. That feeling stopped about 2 weeks or so ago, around the time I stopped progesterone pessaries. I do however keep getting really sharp twinges just above my pubic bone. They last a few seconds then stop, and it's not all the time. It happens maybe 3 times a day, and it's been going on since earlier this week. Thankfully I think the nausea is settling. What was different about your first experience of pregnancy?

YorkshirePeridot · 16/11/2024 12:40

@Needcoffee24 sending you all the love ❤️

YorkshirePeridot · 16/11/2024 12:43

@Stef92 I'm still cramping, but it's on and off and has eased off a but in the last couple of weeks. The midwife said at my booking appointment that it's very normal as the uterus stretches and things settle - it is my first pregnancy if that's relevant.

My nausea has calmed right down in the last couple of days, but I had yesterday off work and had a super lazy day, and it seems that walking around a lot seems to be my main nausea trigger.

Stef92 · 16/11/2024 18:47

@xMrsxHx87x it's different in the way I'm feeling, especially at night with the nausea. I have a boy already and the pregnancy was straightforward until the induction so my other half reckons that we are having a girl this time

@YorkshirePeridot my community midwife didn't seem overly bothered about my symptoms but I just want to try to rest as much at night before June 🫢

BertLiv · 17/11/2024 08:38

Joanna0x · 17/11/2024 11:16

Hey I've just requested to join the Facebook group, I've been getting positive tests for over a week now. I got 1-2 on clear blue last week so I would say I'm roughly 5 weeks now? But my lmp was 23/9 (I'm very irregular) so I'm sure the NHS dating puts me a few weeks ahead of that 🙈

Joanna0x · 17/11/2024 11:36

I left the Facebook group because for some reason I assumed I was on the July thread but apparently I accidentally went onto June... haha! Hope you all have a lovely pregnancy with a healthy baby at the end 😊

38startingagain · 17/11/2024 15:19

Had my booking in appointment today , midwife said I’ll probably need aspirin as my mum had preeclampsia but I never had it with my other Children and they always knew my mums history. Had a private scan Friday as my dates were off when I had an early scan at EPU , they have caught up now I’m 10 weeks today due 15th June but I’ll be nearly 14 weeks when i have my 12 week scan now ! Midwife said ring to bring it forward. Booked in for Nipt on Friday. Here’s a pic of prawny who looks a lot less prawn like now 🤣 hope everyone is doing ok x

Due June 2025 pt2!
CAM8891 · 17/11/2024 20:20

@38startingagain lovely scan pic.

I have to have aspirin from 12 weeks until 36 weeks. Apparently because my first born was low birth weight (2nd centile), it's a new thing though apparently and is supposed to help blood flow through the placenta. I'm 9 weeks tomorrow. X

BertLiv · 17/11/2024 21:10

@38startingagain Congratulations - prawny is looking wonderful! Confusing re the dates but at least your 12 week will be sooner!

My final prescription for prontogest arrived on Friday and NOWHERE had it and so I had a complete panic and was almost in tears as I run out today. I finally ordered it from Asda and have a 50% chance of it arriving on time or I have a 1hr 30min + drive tomorrow to get it for the evening. Don’t really need added stress!

Hope everyone’s had a good weekend!

codemytea · 18/11/2024 11:16

@38startingagain What a gorgeous picture! Good luck for the NIPT. Does anyone know how much blood they take?

@BertLiv Oh you poor thing that sounds awful - good luck.

I'm dealing with mortification, had my early blood test booked last tuesday and completely forgot and didn't go, despite all my reminders. I'm now bracing myself to give them a call and apologies profusely and ask for a new one :(

I had my NIPT done on Saturday. I’m not too sure how much exactly, but I know they took just one vial. It was a little bigger than the 3 smaller ones when I had my routine bloods at my booking appointment.

Didn’t take long at all which was good.

BertLiv · 18/11/2024 18:00

@codemytea Luckily, it is hopefully sorted as they said I could use leftover pessaries for today so, assuming my drugs do actually arrive tomorrow, all is good.

Did you manage to rearrange your blood test? I am having a blood test at my booking appointment on Wed, but assume it’s not a NIPT…

codemytea · 18/11/2024 18:36

@BertLiv The blood test I missed was just the early bloods one, I've got my NIPT on Wednesday this week, and the person doing it is coming over to our house so unlikely to miss the NIPT thankfully!

Still not rearranged, I'm going to see if I can go to a pharmacy close to work instead of home.
