Hi all, just wanted to start a new thread to use once the old one fills up. I'm due 03/06/2025 and currently 11 weeks exactly. Looking forward to first trimester being over! Has everyone booked in their booking appointments yet/got dates for the 12 week scan?

Here's a link to the old thread for book keeping: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5171110-due-june-2025

I have checked badgernotes tonight and I have had my blood test results come through fine and I have appointments listed:

02/12 12 week scan
31/12 16 week midwife appointment
09/01 phone call with a consultant - this pregnancy is consultant led due to how the birth of my first happened, I won't tell the story on here in case I scare any FTM. Basically consultant needs to decide whether I need a csection this time

EDD - 14/06/25 (LMP) or 17/06/25 (EPU scan)

CAM8891 · 12/11/2024 21:07

Im 8+2 right now. Have my booking apt tomorrow and got a private scan booked for Friday coz I'm getting itchy feet waiting.

I have to say I took for granted my first pregnancy where I had pretty much zero first trimester symptoms to this one where i feel like I've been hit by a bus. Maybe because I'm nearly 10 yrs older 🥴

MittensForKittens123 · 12/11/2024 21:17

I’ll be 10 weeks tomorrow, I have my booking appointment on Saturday, and the scan when I’m 13 weeks. I’ve had both pink spotting and a big bleed so far, but had a positive EPU scan on Thursday.

Wondering about whether to do NIPT testing, or to wait and see what percentages the scan gives - anybody else thinking about this?

I’ve been feeling pretty constant nausea, especially when I’m hungry. I definitely didn’t appreciate how easy my pregnancy was with my first, feel like this time round it’s been constant stress and feeling sick Confused

xMrsxHx87x · 13/11/2024 06:18

@MittensForKittens123 we're really close together - I'll be 10 weeks on Friday. I also have my booking appointment on Friday - glad it's not just me who's had quite a late one! Still don't have a date for my 12 week scan though. We use my pregnancy notes in my area (West Yorkshire), never heard of badger notes but it seems to be largely the same idea.

MittensForKittens123 · 13/11/2024 06:49

@xMrsxHx87x on one of my EPU scans they put me 2 days behind what my cycle would suggest (and on the next only a day behind) so we may end up being due date buddies Smile

Hello new thread!

Im 9+6 today and wondering when the nausea will stop. I’ve got my NIPT on Friday. Personally wanted to have it asap as it’s more accurate than the NHS tests and if there is a problem I’d like to know asap. Im 37 so guess there’s (1) a higher risk of issues and (2) my default/background risk will be higher which will skew the NHS results.

I’m with you on the nausea! Im 9+4 and I’m still being sick and feel terrible today. When will it end 😫😫😫😫
I had such a bad episode of vomiting my dinner up last night that I had the shakes and wobbly legs for an hour after 🙈 This baby is causing a storm.

PlanABC · 13/11/2024 10:59

Just replying so it shows up on my app haha will read properly later! Hope everyone is reasonably well x

LS888 · 13/11/2024 12:08

I was supposed to have my booking appointment on Saturday morning but it’s been moved to Wednesday now. I’m currently 7+3 (8+1 based on LMP). I’m thinking of booking a reassurance scan in 2 weeks time. Does anyone know if an internal scan will be done at this point? I had to have a few internal ones with my mmc in July so would rather an abdominal scan.

dmb91 · 13/11/2024 13:34

@LS888 I had my first NHS scan last week when I was 9+2 (12 weeks by LMP but long irregular cycles) it was abdominal. When I had my son I had a scan at around 8+4 which also was abdominal and my BMI was about 31 then so I wouldn't of thought you'd need an internal scan in 2 weeks time

DramaticFridge · 13/11/2024 14:50

I am 9+4 and having a scan this evening (second scan for the pregnancy) and they have said that will need to be internal as it is before 10 weeks x

BertLiv · 13/11/2024 15:01

I have just arranged my booking appointment for next Wednesday. Other than them taking my blood, I have no idea what to expect! But, I'm glad it's booked and hoping that, all being well, my 12 week scan will be on time.

I'm 9 weeks today and was actually sick for the first time this morning...I'm hoping this doesn't become a daily thing - I'd just mastered dealing with the nausea! But, again, not complaining - all worth it.

YorkshirePeridot · 13/11/2024 16:37

I'm 9+1 today, had my booking appointment last week and hoping my dating scan appointment will come through soon!

Main symptom is nausea, I haven't been sick but getting several bouts of dry heaving a day. Very interesting to navigate working as a teacher! I was in a year group photo this morning and sat in the front row trying not to look like I was gipping with 200 teenagers stood behind me, interesting to see how that photo turns out 😅

@xMrsxHx87x I'm also West Yorkshire, hi neighbour 👋

Angelselevenx · 13/11/2024 17:19

Joining from other thread. 9+4 today and scans so far are showing EDD 14/06/25 🤞🏼

CAM8891 · 13/11/2024 17:56

@BertLiv it's basically a full life history class. They will ask you everything about family, past pregnancies, fathers health etc. Mine took about an hour from start to finish. They do a CO test for carbon monoxide, urine sample and bloods... for me they asked about how I wanted to birth, as it is my second child and first was an ECS.

BertLiv · 13/11/2024 18:31

@CAM8891 thank you! They’ve said to me it may take 2 hours - which seems like ages! She mentioned that they’d take bloods, but no other tests. Talking of the CO test, does anyone else get concerned sitting in front of an open fire? We’ve just moved and are loving our fire but I keep getting paranoid I’m inhaling smoke - and most of the time my husband can barely smell it. I don’t know if I’m just being over sensitive to it…

xMrsxHx87x · 13/11/2024 19:18

Hi @YorkshirePeridot, nice to know I have a neighbour on the thread (and another teacher at that!).

Thanks to everyone who's shared information about the booking appointment too. I have no clue what to expect with it being my first pregnancy so it's helpful to have an idea of what to expect. I'm feeling quite excited about it though. After being discharged from the IVF clinic 3 weeks ago, there's not been anything else going on to make the pregnancy feel real, so it'll be good to get a reminder that it's happening and to start planning the next steps!

iridescentbloom · 14/11/2024 07:47

Hi everyone - new thread already!

I'm 11 weeks today, went for a private scan this week as my NHS scan is still a couple of weeks away and got to see baby wiggling away 🥹 best feeling ever. Symptoms have really started to ease now and I am so so ready to start to get some energy back!

Bewildened · 14/11/2024 09:05

I’ve got a work event today and had an absolute nightmare getting dressed this morning - cried in front of the mirror!

I’m 10 weeks today and have put on so much weight everywhere. It’s not even mainly my tummy - my boobs are absolutely massive so all my blouses are straining at the buttons and my bum and legs are also bigger. I have to dress really smartly for work (normally a suit and silk blouse) but I looked so awful in everything today I’ve had to wear a dress. I hardly ever wear dresses at work so I feel like people are definitely going to notice. I’ve got my appraisal next week and really don’t want to tell anyone before then 😭😭😭

DramaticFridge · 14/11/2024 09:11

Hiya

I am 9+5 today - I have been for two early scans due to major anxiety as I was told that it was very unlikely that I would be able to have kids due to PCOS.

I am 42 and this is my first baby. My Boyfriend is absolutely over the moon as we had resigned ourselves to having to look at adoption and other routes to become parents. He is now wanting to do lots of work on the house to make it perfect while I just want to sleep!

I feel like I am the size of a boat already even though I know that I'm not and main symptoms have been really sore boobs, exhaustion like I have never experienced before and just so unbelievably weepy all the time! Oh - and I feel like I constantly stink - I don't think I do - but I just feel like I do if that makes sense.

Either way it is all very exciting and counting down the days to my 12 week scan now!

codemytea · 14/11/2024 10:10

Hiya all,

I've been busy with work, thought I'd reply to everyone while I can.

@Stef92 Glad your glood results came back good! Only a few weeks left till your 12 week scan. Have you told anyone yet or waiting till you pass teh 12 week mark?

@CAM8891 Good luck for the scan tomorrow! How was your booking appt? My CO levels were at the threshold, but all our windows open to a busy street so I'm not suprised, not much I can do.

@MittensForKittens123 I'm doing NIPT on the 19th (next week tues - with Illumina). We decided to do it because it's a lot more accurate than the NHS combined one (something like 98% vs 80%), and I'd rather know and be prepared than not know and be surprised. It can also test for more than just T21 (our one does stuff like Turners as well), and it can let you know the gender! Which I'm really excited about, I keep flitting between being sure it's a girl, and then being certain it's a boy :D

@Bewildened My nausea has pretty much stopped now. Good luck for your NIPT tomorrow - do you know how long you'll need to wait for results? I don't fit into any of my non-stretch clothes anymore, I'm in work with tights that have already given up in the upper half due to new chaffing... also put on one of my husbands shirts this morning that was fine on me a month ago but my upper arms barely went through and it's stretched over everything :( I've taken out my sowing machine and I plan to make myself some nice sack-like dresses to last me till the end :D I've resolved myself to looking like a potato for the forseeable future. Good luck with work :)

@LacedBouquet You poor thing, that really doesn't sound too nice :( hope the placenta starts to take over soon for you and brings you some relief x

@LS888 Like others have said, I was told internal till 10 weeks is the policy around where I live

@BertLiv Good luck for your booking appt next Wed. Like others have said it's just a full family history. Other posters are lucky they had their urine and bloods done - my community midwives were 30min away by bike (no public transport and I don't own a car), and we were told I needed to do my urine then but drop it off at my GP for testing which was in a completely different direction, an another 15 mins. For bloods I needed to then get to my pharmacy only to be told that their walk in bloods had just closed and I needed to book an appt for next week :'( Hope yours goes a bit smoother! No idea about the smoke from the fire, hopefully someone else can shed light on it.

@YorkshirePeridot I'm sure you look amazing in the photo :D I hope the nausea starts to pass for you soon!

@xMrsxHx87x Honestly don't think it's going to feel real to me until I have a baby in my arms (fingers crossed) :D

@iridescentbloom Someone else at 11 weeks! Can you still see the heartbeat in ultrasounds? I had my last one at 7 weeks, and the entire baby was doubling in size every time the heart beat, poor thing. Just really excited for my dating scan tonight and wondering what I'll get to see :)

@DramaticFridge I'm so happy for you! Congratulations, and fingers really crossed that everything goes smoothly. I'm glad that at least your stinking is in your head - mine is definitely not :D I'm really put off artificial smells at the moment so can't put on any deodorants or perfumes

Is anyone else getting a weird tickling in their lower torso from time to time - got two 'tickles' when I had some spicy food over the weekend, and I'm just sat at work and got it again. It's the strangest feeling. It's definitely not trapped wind, and doesn't feel like growing pains, those feel more like cramps to me, I just feel like I'm going mad!

OP posts:
DramaticFridge · 14/11/2024 10:15

I can feel what seems like food moving through my bowels more - gurgling and bubbling which I think is me digesting!

Can't wait for the day when I feel the actual baby so just clutching at every feeling at the moment 😂

codemytea · 14/11/2024 10:21

@DramaticFridge Maybe it's that :D I know that I shouldn't be able to feel actual baby at the moment given it's my first and I'm only 11 weeks :( Wish one could see what is going on in there! Would make life a lot less stressful

CAM8891 · 14/11/2024 10:43

@codemytea my CO was 1, not sure if that's good or not! Booking was ok, I'm considered medically high risk due to my last birth but still under midwife AND consultant which is reassuring. How are you feeling?
