Hi all, just wanted to start a new thread to use once the old one fills up. I'm due 03/06/2025 and currently 11 weeks exactly. Looking forward to first trimester being over! Has everyone booked in their booking appointments yet/got dates for the 12 week scan?

Here's a link to the old thread for book keeping: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5171110-due-june-2025

@StrawberrySunflower no it’s my second. First was 6 days late. But I’m measuring big so there are talks of induction at my next appointment which is on Thursday.

I’m a SAHM so I’ve just been chasing after my toddler and wish I could give that up for a while!

@LS888

ah bless you, running around after a toddler doesn’t sound easy at all. Hats off to you, and I hope you manage to get some rest at least.
as for the measuring big if you don’t mind me asking is that just from your bump size?
I’ve had a few people mention that kind of thing to me, but my bump
is like 95% percentile and they haven’t said anything about worries baby is going to be too big.

LS888 · 01/06/2025 12:58

@StrawberrySunflower At my first bump measurement it was measuring small - 9th centile. So I was referred for a growth scan. The growth scan showed I was 99th centile. And a second scan 3 weeks later also showed 99th! I have another scan on Thursday so will see what that one suggests. The latest study shows that 60% of suspected larger babies aren’t actually that large. So I’m taking it with a pinch of salt! But I’m probably going to opt for an earlier induction if offered to me.

LS888 · 01/06/2025 12:58

Here you are referred for growth scans if you are below 10th centile or above 90th I think. But it might be different at your hospital. Is it your first? @StrawberrySunflower

@LS888

I feel like every single woman I know who has been told baby is too big has gone on to have a completely normal sized baby so I agree with you I’m sure it will be fine :)

yes it’s my first. That’s why I’m puzzled that the bump size being like 95% hasn’t flagged up that they will want to do a growth scan? Still I’m not sure it’s that accurate anyway. I know women who have had tiny babies and big placentas and consequently huge bumps !
I also think position has a lot to do with it. My baby has been head down and spine out along my tummy every single appointment I’ve had. I’ve got a bump that is all in the front if you see what I mean. I’m also fairly tall!

Baby Brody was born on 5th June , 10 days early after a very long few days of induction due to multiple reduced movements and a scan. Was a very tough labour which I’m still trying to process but he’s safe and well 💙

Anyone due 20th June? I’m getting closer and closer to the due date and struggling. Baby is showing no signs of wanting to come out. Midwife appointment next week where they’re going to offer a membrane sweep. I don’t know whether to go for it. Anyone had any experience with membrane sweeps? I’ve heard they can be really uncomfortable and may not actually work
