Hi all, just wanted to start a new thread to use once the old one fills up. I'm due 03/06/2025 and currently 11 weeks exactly. Looking forward to first trimester being over! Has everyone booked in their booking appointments yet/got dates for the 12 week scan?

Here's a link to the old thread for book keeping: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5171110-due-june-2025

@DramaticFridge I think this is completely normal.. hormones are still raging and it is a horrible stage because no one really knows you're pregnant and you're just riding the wave by yourself really, hugs xx

DramaticFridge · 22/11/2024 09:45

Thanks - just feel a bit crappy and sorry for myself - I know I need to snap out of it!

BertLiv · 22/11/2024 09:59

@DramaticFridge I was feeling teary, grumpy and very negative last night as I was getting cramps and my husband was reading that it is all completely normal. But, it is easier to tell yourself to snap out of it then to actually do it. Maybe watch something funny on your phone or something which might take your mind off it briefly at least? Take care and stay positive!

DramaticFridge · 22/11/2024 10:04

Thankyou - I'm so grateful to be in my position and I'm not wishing it away or anything I just seem to have lost that buzz!
Hopefully it is just the hormones and I will be back bouncing about in a few days/weeks!

ready to hit the second trimester "glow" and stop feeling like an absolute gremlin!

SaturnSpark · 22/11/2024 12:29

I’ve been feeling down about my body too. I feel like I’ve put on loads of weight.

I know most is bloating but I went from working out 4/5 times a week to becoming a couch potato for the first 10 weeks!! I’m finally getting my strength back and went the gym this week. 😂 Just trying to learn to be patient with myself.

teampacey · 22/11/2024 15:57

I have my dating scan on 6/12 when I will be 12+2. We had a private scan last weekend and saw this little one waving at us! We already know that he is a boy and he will be called Otis 💙

We are announcing on Christmas Eve! So excited!

If you're starting to look at maternity clothes, there's 25% off on TU clothing atm, might get some bargains

xMrsxHx87x · 22/11/2024 20:04

Had my private scan today - such a relief to see our little wriggler on screen moving and shaking around. Gave me a good kick at one point! Makes the wait for the official dating scan much more bearable.

HealthyPumpkin · 22/11/2024 20:26

My NIPT came back clear, having a boy. Really nervous for 12 week scan next week when I’ll be 12+4/12+5. I had a scan at 11 weeks but convinced something will have gone wrong

mumofone1111 · 23/11/2024 08:42

Hi everyone looks like I've missed loads as my Mumsnet logged me out and been feeling so rough I didn't have the energy to sort it 🙈

How is everyone?

Has anyone taken metoclopramide?

RichTeaCheddars · 23/11/2024 10:06

@mumofone1111 yes, I'm taking metoclopramide

mumofone1111 · 23/11/2024 10:07

RichTeaCheddars · 23/11/2024 10:06

@mumofone1111 yes, I'm taking metoclopramide

How are you finding it?

RichTeaCheddars · 23/11/2024 10:18

@mumofone1111 I find it really good. Stopped most of the vomiting. Still nauseous and feel pants and lots of good aversions but generally doing better than I was in my last pregnancy. 13 weeks now.
How are you getting on?

BertLiv · 23/11/2024 10:27

@DramaticFridge I’m sure it is just hormones - you’ll be excited after you’ve had your dating scan and then your bump starts appearing!

@teampacey Wonderful pic - congratulations! And great name! Your dating scan is 2 days after ours so it’s nice to see what (I hope) our little one is looking like now!

@Stef92 I don’t dare before our dating scan - but hopefully there will still be some sales around.

@HealthyPumpkin Congratulations!

We ended up telling our families last night, which was exciting and terrifying at the same time. Then didn’t get much sleep, but not sure if it was because of that or the storm! I kind of wish we had a scan booked before our dating scan, but hopefully the week and a half will fly by and then the scan will show that all is well 🤞🏻

Stef92 · 23/11/2024 11:32

@BertLiv I know what you mean about not wanting to jinx it but I got a dress for under £6 😂 my dating scan is a week on Monday - it'll be the longest week!

My 3 year old keeps asking for a sibling to cuddle and share his toys with 💙 well he's actually asked for 2 brothers and 1 sister 😂😭 when are people with a young child planning on telling them? I am undecided between after the tests are done for Edwards etc or when we know everything is fine at 20 weeks

CAM8891 · 23/11/2024 11:47

@Stef92 I'm telling my daughter either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day .. only because I know she's going to be so excited so no chance of ruining Christmas for her. I'll be about 15/16 weeks then. X

MittensForKittens123 · 23/11/2024 11:59

My son is only 2, he’ll be 3 next August, so we’ll probably leave it until more like 30 weeks, as it will be a long wait for him otherwise. We might start reading books about siblings before that if that makes sense.

Stef92 · 23/11/2024 15:57

@CAM8891 we must have a similar due date as I have my 16 week appointment on NYE

CAM8891 · 23/11/2024 16:24

@Stef92 🙈 I meant 14 weeks 🤣

My 16 week apt is 7th Jan x

SaturnSpark · 23/11/2024 16:36

I’ve been feeling a little anxious today. I’m 12+2.

12 week scan went well yesterday (seen baby kicking and waving haha) and NIPT results all fine (we’re having a boy!). However me & DP had sex last night and I had light red bleeding when I went the bathroom after. Only some streaks/spotting on the toilet paper and disappeared after a few wipes. There was very light brownish colour next time I went the toilet and had nothing since, all clear since 4am this morning.

Ive had very mild cramping today and tried to call EPU for advice but can’t get through!

The light spotting straight after sex has happened a couple of times over the last 3 months, I’m just wondering if anyone has experienced the same?

SaturnSpark · 23/11/2024 17:05

Just got through - they said it’s normal as everything “softens” in pregnancy so quite common to lightly bleed after intercourse.

They said I’d only need to come in if it was heavy bleeding which doesn’t stop accompanied by pain.

MittensForKittens123 · 23/11/2024 17:49

@SaturnSpark when I had my bad bleed they asked if I’d had sex as apparently it’s a common cause of bleeding.

SaturnSpark · 23/11/2024 19:14

MittensForKittens123 · 23/11/2024 17:49

Hope all is ok. Glad to know it’s actually quite common. I feel like I’m learning new things each day this being my first haha

MittensForKittens123 · 23/11/2024 19:52

@SaturnSpark i had a positive scan a few days after the bleed. Just waiting for my 12 week scan now (at 13 weeks!) hopefully all will still be well.

codemytea · 23/11/2024 22:23

Evening all,

Feeling awful today! It's been building up for the last few days, but headaches, dizziness, can barely manage a few bites as I get full so quickly and I can't last more than 30 minutes before I need to pop to the loo.

Feel like I've swung straight from first trimester symptoms to the depths of second trimester symptoms! And I thought the second trimester would be better :(

I've also been cramping which I know is a normal part of things settling in and expanding but it worries me every time. Can't believe I'll need to wait another 2 months to see baby again on an ultrasound. But my midwife said that they'll try listen in to babys heartbeat at my 16 week appointment and if they manage to get it I'll be able to hear it as well, so only 3 weeks left...

Is anyone considering getting a 16 week scan as a go between, or a 4d one later on?
