Hi all, just wanted to start a new thread to use once the old one fills up. I'm due 03/06/2025 and currently 11 weeks exactly. Looking forward to first trimester being over! Has everyone booked in their booking appointments yet/got dates for the 12 week scan?

Here's a link to the old thread for book keeping: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5171110-due-june-2025

Evening everyone, I've had some terrible back pain if I over do it but still feeling alright - strangely enough, I've been sleeping like the dead! I'll take what I can get :D

Can't believe I'm 30 weeks tomorrow, where the time flies! Babies newest achievement is hiccuping, which it seems to enjoy doing every morning, was very strange till DH and I figured out what was going on.

Babies movements are also starting to get a little uncomfortable at this point, but reminding myself that the poor thing is really starting to run out of space now helps put it in perspective that I've got it much better really!

Thank you @jlverity for the Whatsapp! Would everyone be alright if I joined via my DHs account? We share a smartphone (I just use a brick) and so anything like whatsapp has to go through there - no worries if not though, I can understand that it might be a little uncomfortable to have a male name in there!

Hey everyone, loved reading though everyone’s journeys so far in this threat. So reassuring to read other peoples experiences.

Im 29+2 and had my 28 week midwife appointment yesterday my bump hasn’t grown since my last appointment 2 weeks ago so they have referred me for a scan. Midwife thinks it’s because baby is laying across my tummy. I’m a first time mum so a little nervous, has anyone else had this before?

Fine with me!

Sorry you’ve been having back pain - but glad you’re sleeping well! I’m generally sleeping better too, which is a relief!

Hi! Haven’t experienced that as only 27+5, but if the midwife doesn’t seem too worried, try not to worry I’d say. Hopefully the scan will show all is well!

jlverity · 21/03/2025 09:05

@codemytea of course that’s fine! I don’t think we’d know if you didn’t tell us hahaha. Have you been to France yet? Or is that later this month?

@Jessgaugh Im so sure you’ll be fine - this tape measure stuff is all nonsense! Do you feel like the baby is lying across you? Mine was for most of second trimester and was so uncomfortable/ had to walk slowly / was getting a stitch all the time, but at 28 week appointment he’d move to head down and I’m so much more comfortable!

Okay all, erm does this work? I apparently set up a ‘community’ no clue how that’s different to a group haha, but didn’t want to have to ask all your numbers!

i'm in!!

DramaticFridge · 21/03/2025 09:09

Doesnt bother me about the Male name :-)

Im pretty sure mine is still head up cause im still feeling the kicks and movements in the same place as I had been.

No idea about the size of my bump cause I already had a rather rotund belly before I got pregnant so they dont actually measure it when I see the midwife!

Hi, I had my bump measured at 26 weeks and it was measuring under 3rd centile so I got sent for a growth scan the same day. Baby was measuring at above 10th centile on the scan so no concerns.

I have a tiny bump and everyone keeps telling me it's probably just a tiny baby - but me and my DH are over 6 foot 🙈

I actually have another growth scan booked after some concerning measurements at a private scan. Fingers crossed for both of us!

and @codemytea how are you doing? We’re missing you over on WhatsApp!

codemytea · 01/05/2025 21:31

Heya @jlverity - apologies, it's been a stressful few weeks - turns out baby is in breech and I'm struggling to find a hospital near me that performs ECV's (I've read the risks) - unfortunately living out in the sticks isn't all it's cracked up to be!

I've now turned into someone that can be found hanging upside-down over sofa arms and doing handstands in the swimming pool, never thought I'd get to this but hey-ho :D

How is everyone doing? Has anyone else had a growth/presentation scan recently?

Also welcome @Gosi, lovely to see some new names!

my baby is breech. Found out at a growth scan. And she’s still breech now at 34 weeks. Trying everything to encourage her to turn lol! Will see again tomorrow if she’s decided to turn but from her movements I don’t think she has! X

codemytea · 02/05/2025 18:12

Aww @Chaz693 glad to have some company! I guess there's swings and roundabout to everything, I think this may be the first time in my life where I'm actually sitting with proper posture just in an attempt to make baby turn!

What have you been attempting? Willing to give anything a go at this point :D

so far I’ve spent most of my days on the ball. I’ve tried being upside down a lot lol! I thought we had got somewhere this morning as she had gone transverse so heading the right way. Only to go to my Doppler scan this afternoon and she had turned back breech. I did get the turning babies thing but I don’t have anyone to do some of the things with me as my partners works most days. So can only do part of it. Next week I’m going to try going swimming as apparently that helps. I’m willing to try anything. But she needs to go head down by next Friday at my growth scan!

what have you been trying? X

codemytea · 02/05/2025 20:45

I've done mostly the same - got myself a ball and have been sitting on that instead of a chair, and I've also been going swimming and doing handstands in the pool! I'm following along with the spinning babies 6-day 'flip a breech' program and my midwife suggested moxibustion and at this point why not so I've got myself a couple of moxa sticks and my husband has been using those on me while I hang upside down :D I've also tried the cold pack and my husband talking down low etc but baby seems quite content where it is :D

The only time baby went transverse was a few weeks ago before I had my scan and it was back when I was sitting with terrible posture all day and not doing anything fancy - I just got into a bath and suddenly my stomach changed shape and it was 'empty' at the top. Turned back as soon as I got out though :D

Sorry to hear you've been struggling to do some of the things - I've found having various raised levels of support around me (stools, pots of varying sizes etc) helpful to go into some of the upside down positions by myself but not sure if that applies to you!

OP posts:
Chaz693 · 02/05/2025 20:50

@codemyteayeah I’m trying my best to be upside down several times a day. And spend as much time on my ball as possible. But my back always ends up being in agony by the end of the day and then I struggle to motivate myself the next day out of not wanting the back pain. But my plan this next week is to just go for it. And actually follow the program as much as possible with what I have. Just want her head down so I have some hope of not having a c-section. X

codemytea · 04/05/2025 14:52

@Chaz693 the back pain is awful, I agree, I just keep thinking that I don't want to regret not trying something even if it hurts a little right now. Although I must confess to often shortening things by 2-3 minutes and calling it a day!

I'm lucky enough to be able to give birth in a hospital with a dedicated breech team and they've suggested that vaginal breech is just as safe for me/baby as a c-section - have you had a chance to talk about options with your midwife?

OP posts:
Chaz693 · 04/05/2025 18:22

@codemyteai haven’t yet as there giving me till my scan on Friday to see if she turns as I’ll be 35+4 so almost 36 weeks. Then I assume they’ll want to discuss it. From what I know of the hospital I doubt they’ll allow me to attempt a breech birth but it is something I will ask about. I know they offer the whole manually turning the baby so that’s an option but I know there’s a massive risk of it causing the baby to become distressed and lead to an emergencies c-section so I guess it’s something I’ve got to weigh up.

honestly at this point I’m so over being pregnant today lol! I’m exhausted and just uncomfortable. My 5 year old doesn’t have a pause button and is just on the go all day and I’m struggling to keep up with him. Probably doesn’t help that I know he’s off again tomorrow from school as it’s the bank holiday. Luckily my partner is home tomorrow so I’m leaving him to deal with him so I can just get out the house and try and get a break! I’m hoping I’m just having a bad day today and tomorrow I’ll feel better tomorrow as today I’m ready to go to the hospital and beg them to do something to help with the discomfort. X

jlverity · 25/05/2025 07:02

Hey ladies, how’s it all going? @codemytea thinking of you as I think your due date was moved back to May! Eek!

StrawberrySunflower · 31/05/2025 21:19

Anyone else struggling with the waiting game for when baby is going to arrive. Just feel I’m never going to go into labour actual due date is today !

LS888 · 01/06/2025 08:01

@StrawberrySunflower it feels so close but the unknown is killing me!

Hopefully not long for you to wait. My Due date isn’t until 29th. My family keep predicting July guesses. I’m not having a July baby!! It needs to be June for my mental health 🤣🤣🤣

I’m the same! The last month has been so hard, so close yet so far sort of thing. When do you finish work? I finished at 37 weeks and actually wish I’d done another week at work! Just because sitting in the house is so hard mentally- like obviously it’s lovely to rest but I can’t think about anything other than when I go into labour! A lot of babies in my family have been prem over the years so I think a lot of family members thought baby might come early. Is this your first ?
