I have just found out I am expecting baby number 2 and my due date is 1st May.

Has anyone else found out they are expecting and looking for some company?

@Kimlpool - combined results were really low risk!! 1:3000! But I got a private NIPT anyway as I am generally an anxious person and the results for those came back 2 days after my combined screening test as high risk T21!
I am devastated!

Aww you should stay positive you know 💕🤞🙏 1:3000 is amazing i truly wouldnt worry to much! 🩷 . My bloods from combined were 1:2 downs 1:125 edwards/patau 😔
Please try and stay positive and think positive thoughts id be sonso happy with those numbers right now lovely. I 100% get how hard it is when you think theres a risk 💕 sending love 🥰 xx

fingerscrossedmumma · 13/11/2024 15:30

@Kimlpool yeah I know the NHS odds were amazing

But my private NIPT test (the one which is 99% accurate) came back as 99% chance of baby having Down syndrome...

So I am in shock that I am the "1" :(

TheBeesKnee · 13/11/2024 19:33

Has anyone else's appetite suddenly reared it's head? I feel ravenous all the time. It's tricky to manage with GDM as well. Such a contrast to weeks 6-8 where I didn't eat anything and lost 4kg 😬

Has anyone started showing yet?

I’ve noticed a bump for about 2 weeks now even though I didn’t show anything until about 18W with my first. Annoyingly not just the lower tummy where the baby is but the upper tummy where my stomach is are poking out as well, so I just looked severely bloated 😆

I am! Although it's probably not enough for someone else to know for sure unless I was dressed in a certain way. Second baby and first is 18 months so it isn't that long since I was last pregnant x

Yep, I am 15 weeks and look how I did with my first at 20 weeks 🫣

I absolutely can feel my uterus has got bigger but no bump yet. I'm plus sized so will be while before it shows 😭

@TheBeesKnee I wish my appetite would come back!
I has a really good roughly 5 days where my energy came back sickness stopped now I'm back to throwing up and feeling exhausted. Has this happened to anyone else in week 13? I had my covid jab today so not sure if that is contributing to me feeling terrible? hope everyone is doing OK . X

I didn’t start to feel myself until around 14 1/2 weeks. Still had a couple of episodes of nausea and vomiting since then and I’m 16w5d now.

I can finally eat vegetables again though and I have more energy. I’m still tired but I can get things done. So hopefully you are on the up!

BrightGoose · 16/11/2024 19:02

I’m only 12 weeks and I have very little appetite everything I make I eat a small amount still on anti sickness medication still being sick intimately even when I take them. Went back to work but did a 10 hour shift and felt awful the next day so I had to ring in sick and spent all day in bed. I’m hoping to feel better by week 14. Most days I feel ok until I try to do something outside of sitting around or plodding around and then I’m tired still. I have my scan Monday

codemytea · 16/11/2024 20:33

Hi all,

I'm on the due June 2025 thread but I had my ultrasound this Thursday which put me a whole week ahead, pushing my due date to 30th of May. Just wanted to say hi! I've been a long time lurker so I wanted to say that my heart goes out to those that have had bad news with their combined/nipt tests.

Toothfairy0113 · 17/11/2024 13:19

I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and still feeling pretty rough especially in the evening/when i'm tired. Smells aren't bothering me as much some of the time bow though thankfully so hoping i'm starting to get on the right side.

Has anyone had multiple episodes of spotting? I've been at EPU twice this week after 3 episodes (plus 1 at 11 weeks). They can't find where it's coming from and after going lastnight they've prescribed vaginal progesterone but from what i've read they don't actually have any effect after 12 weeks..? Anyone have any experience of what they're like to use?

Zeeha · 17/11/2024 15:50

Hi @Toothfairy0113 I had bleeding which ranged from spotting to very heavy earlier in this pregnancy. After multiple scans they found I had a SCH. I was already on progesterone pessaries due to IVF but the NHS extended this from 12 weeks to 16 weeks, so I just have one week left now. Have you been prescibed two pessaries, twice a day? They can be quite messy. I tend to insert them, put some tissue in my underwear and lie down for a minimum of 20 minutes to allow them to absorb.

Yes, 2 a day.
Sorry, I should have said, no effect after 12 weeks for ladies who haven't had IVF and/or multiple losses.
That's good to know, thank you! Looks like i'll be waking up earlier on work days for the time being then 😫😂
I never had anything like this with my other 2 so i've felt like a bit of a pain for keep ringing them, especially twice in a week. They weren't very nice to me on the phone either initially yesterday after I told them i'd just had my dating scan on Friday too, I felt quite silly ringing them having just had a scan 🙈

BrightGoose · 18/11/2024 13:39

Hi all hope we are all feeling better.

I had my twelve week scan today put my due date at the 27th of may but section so will be a week earlier at minimum. I also had my screening done and flu jab which I anticipate I’ll feel the affects later today. Puts me at 13 weeks tomorrow.

LeBonBon · 18/11/2024 15:55

Hope everyone is doing well?

My bad cold from a few weeks ago turned into a nasty bout of sinusitis that needed antibiotics - finally coming out of the other side after nearly three weeks. I'll be 16 weeks on Wednesday, just waiting for the lovely second trimester to finally kick in so I can start feeling better. It's so different having a toddler and being in early pregnancy with all the viruses knocking about, with my 1st I was well into the third trimester by this point in the year with all my jabs done and feeling fantastic.

I've also got my quadruple test on Friday as they couldn't do the NT screening during the scan. Is it just a standard blood test? Does anyone know how long the results take via the NHS?

narns · 18/11/2024 16:55

@LeBonBon for me it was just a standard blood test and the results were posted within about a week I think (although they said it could take up to two weeks- although if it's a high risk result they aim to call within 5 working days).

With my DD (18 months) I got a result of something like 1 in 33,000 however I was told that it's changed now and they don't go beyond 5,000.

Hey I've been in progesterone since week 4! My tip is to lie down a bit after wards to prevent it from leaking everywhere. Doing a "scoop" when you're showering also helps to clear out the remnants 🙈 I've been prescribed it until 16 weeks.

I did have spotting throughout first trimester and found out the progesterone was causing cervix irritation! I found wetting it under the tap before inserting very helpful in preventing this

Jess2826 · 18/11/2024 19:41

I had my 12 week scan last week and have a phone call appointment booked for tomorrow. Was told I would get my screening results in 3 weeks so it's not to discuss that. Did anyone else have a follow up call a week later and know what it's to discuss? I can't remember if the midwife told me what it was for or not 🤦🏻‍♀️🙈

BrightGoose · 18/11/2024 19:57

@Jess2826 is this your first baby do you know if you are consultant lead ? It might be a consultant appointment or to discuss something else maybe?

Jess2826 · 18/11/2024 20:04

@brightgoose it's my 4th pregnancy (3 previous losses) so possibly a consultant appointment, though I've never met one!

BrightGoose · 18/11/2024 20:13

It’s either telephone or face to face consultant appointments are but it might be something else but worth a thought normally the midwife would advise if you’ll be consultant lead on your booking appointment.

Beccaa123 · 19/11/2024 11:12

Has anyone used a fetal doppler to hear the heartbeat?
Have you been successful with it? I'm unsure whether to buy one
