I have just found out I am expecting baby number 2 and my due date is 1st May.

Has anyone else found out they are expecting and looking for some company?

Has anyone felt movement yet? I'm only 12+5 but swear I just felt a little movement. I don't think I felt anything until 17/18 weeks last time!

Hope all goes well @LeBonBon x

Beccaa123 · 06/11/2024 10:27

Just wondering if anyone has lost weight? I am 2/3kg down and 12 weeks today but I don't look like I've lost anything, if anything my stomach is definitely bigger, I'm pretty sure it's my bump starting. It feels a lot harder in my lower abdomen.
I'm not sure why I'm loosing weight as opposed to putting it on, I haven't had any sickness and as of the last couple of weeks I am pretty symptom free.

narns · 06/11/2024 11:12

@Beccaa123 I'm down half a stone from my booking appointment (5 weeks ago) but that's definitely due to the sickness and food aversions!

Beccaa123 · 06/11/2024 11:20

@narns ok, that's roughly the same as me, at least you can find a reason behind it.
I have seen my doctor for a few check ups and she hasn't mentioned my weight, I get weighed each time I go.
Baby was looking healthy at my last scan at 10+4 and my 12 week is on Friday.
I think I just need to try and stop worrying, although easier said than done lol

BrightGoose · 06/11/2024 11:22

The weight will be down to the increased matabalism it increases to like 2.2 times you’re normal especially in early pregnancy. I lost some weight but slowly putting it back on. Luckily when I’m sick it’s only in the morning so I’m not sick anything I’ve eaten yet, I’m still on antisickness but still being sick but it’s help so much with the nausea.

im going back to work today after 5 weeks off, I’m both dreading it and looking forward at the same time.

im sorry so many of you guys are struggling with anxiety and I’m limbo, I haven’t got my scan yet til next Monday

Beccaa123 · 06/11/2024 11:29

Thanks @BrightGoose I didn't realise our metabolism increased!
I hope work goes well for you today!

california22 · 06/11/2024 12:57

@LeBonBon I'm 11 weeks today and have a 2yo that goes to nursery. She gave me covid at around 6 weeks and also a cold/virus thing just now... my OH also got it both times so I guess it's almost unavoidable but definitely hitting me harder in pregnancy, I'm exhausted and tired of hearing myself say I feel so unwell. Keep thinking we are almost turning into the second trimester, with my first I felt better after 12w or so, so holding on to that. Hope everyone is ok, @BrightGoose I'm back next week after 4 weeks off as well, it's nerve wracking but I think that getting out and being distracted will help me. Good luck!

Herewegoagain8 · 06/11/2024 13:31

@LeBonBon I’ve got 2 DC already, DS4 and DD1, and a husband who barely lifts a finger! I’ve had back to back illnesses for a few weeks now and the way I’ve coped is going to bed at 8pm every night I’m afraid! It’s awful feeling getting virus after virus and running after kids but not much we can do but take our vitamins and try to rest as much as possible. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

ThatGladSwan · 06/11/2024 15:04

Hi everyone, I'm 14w2d and I have just had pink discharge, not enough to cover a pad or anything and also no pain... Has anyone else had this as I am really panicking?

BrightGoose · 06/11/2024 16:21

Maybe contact the doctor lots of us have had bleeding and spotting but the epu told me that any spotting or bleeding in the second trimester should be reported

Jess2826 · 06/11/2024 16:26

Thank you all, I've contacted my Midwife this morning and she's given me the EPAU phone number to call (couldn't find it anywhere online) so have just given them a call and left a message so hopefully they get back to me and I can get it all sorted!

Yes I think I've been feeling things, it's wonderful isn't it? Apparently you feel things sooner with second+ babies because you know that you're looking for!

BoldLemur · 08/11/2024 11:42

Anyone else still feeling terrible in week 12? I thought I would be getting better by now 😭

narns · 08/11/2024 12:47

@BoldLemur I'm 13 weeks and still feeling pretty shit but have noticed some improvement over the last couple of days. The consultant didn't seem too interested because I can keep water down! They just said the symptoms will likely improve by 14 weeks like 95% of the female population 🙄

@Kimlpool @fingerscrossedmumma @LeBonBon how are you all getting on? X

rosecbrm · 08/11/2024 15:31

@BoldLemur @narns I was the same, actually felt worst from 11-12 weeks than I had at all before.

13+4 today and feeling more normal!

Hope everyone's ok xx

Poster57 · 08/11/2024 16:55

@fingerscrossedmumma @Kimlpool hope you’re both doing ok. I know I didn’t comment earlier but I meant to and I keep thinking about you both every time I load this thread up

fingerscrossedmumma · 08/11/2024 17:17

Thanks all - saw the fetal medicine unit today and just absolutely broke down. They ask people to not bring babies in due to the sensitive nature of the clinic and obviously someone did. I just got so upset that this may not happen for us. Have scheduled an amniocentesis for 3 weeks time - it's going to be the longest 3 weeks of my life.
If anyone has good tv shows/ game recommendations do let me know!

rosecbrm · 08/11/2024 17:47

I've just read down and wanted to say so sorry you're going through this @fingerscrossedmumma @Kimlpool

Hope you're both doing ok as can be, hopefully time goes quick for your amniocentesis

So sorry lovely, just found out today I need to have an amnio as well. Got a hospital appointment next week but not sure if they would do it then, or if I’d need to go back later.

LeBonBon · 08/11/2024 20:36

@narns thank you for asking. I've been referred for the Quad blood test at 16 weeks because baby would not co-operate for the 2nd scan at all and the picture was very blurry - apparently I hadn't drank enough. Baby had grown exactly as expected to 14w though so I've got the same due date as our private scan back at 8w4d. I think I'm going to worry until the 20 week scan but I've got my date for that - 20th December. It's my last day at work before Christmas so hopefully we can relax and enjoy the festive period with a healthy growing baby.

@Kimlpool @fingerscrossedmumma @MrsKurz hope everything goes OK for you all xx

narns · 08/11/2024 20:52

@LeBonBon that's good! They couldn't get measurements for my daughter because she was too wriggly, I had the quad test and then they checked for "soft markers" at the 20 week scan - all was absolutely fine sometimes babies just don't get the memo to cooperate! X

LeBonBon · 08/11/2024 21:00

@narns Thank you - always good to hear similar stories!

Hope your sickness and aversions clear up soon - with my daughter I didn't have HG but I was sick on/off well into the 2nd trimester. Usually coincided with a big baby development phase and my own response to the hormone surges. Hope you start to feel better soon x

Zeeha · 08/11/2024 21:06

Does anyone know much about what the Papp-a results mean? With my 14m old daughter my level was 1.5 mom. I've just had my results back for this baby and it's 0.71. That seems so much lower!

Yep still not great here. Overall it’s improved like yesterday I felt terrible around lunch but then had a few hours in the afternoon where I could get a few bits done. But I’ve woken up today now and feel terrible. It’s so up and down and unpredictable!

24CRZZNKKA · 10/11/2024 09:49

Week 11 and I've had a terrible couple of days with the constant nausea and weakness. Pretty much been in my bed for 48 hours and feeling so down about it.
