I have just found out I am expecting baby number 2 and my due date is 1st May.

Has anyone else found out they are expecting and looking for some company?

I am 11 weeks today, and feel like my symptoms have eased significantly, there are days where I don't feel pregnant at all!
I was finding lying on my back to be uncomfortable, like something was pushing, however I woke up this morning on my back and was perfectly fine, I don't know if I should be concerned?

BoldLemur · 30/10/2024 07:10

@Beccaa123 I think that's normal for this stage. My symptoms have been very up and down. We are coming to end of 1st trimester so it's normal for symptoms to be stopping. X

Beccaa123 · 30/10/2024 07:19

@BoldLemur thanks.
I definitely think I am overthinking everything.
I had a scan on Monday and baby was measuring 10+4 and doing well. Just a day behind where we thought I was.
I thought having heard the heartbeat at this stage, it would calm me down a bit, but no luck ☹️

My scan was fine today measuring as was at around 9+2 was very serreal seeing what looks like a proper baby this time. They saw a bruise which is very close to my cervix and said that’s likely what’s causing the bleeding so nice to have the answer.

I'm so glad to hear it went well!

BoldLemur · 30/10/2024 07:45

@Beccaa123 ahh that's good a healthy scan at 10 +4 is really positive.

Beccaa123 · 30/10/2024 07:51

@BoldLemur I logically know that. But I still can't shift the feeling of nerves that something will go wrong.
I'm 35, have pcos and was always told it was unlikely I'd get pregnant naturally. Now that's happened, it almost feels too good to be true. It's like I'm waiting on the punch line...

Aw I get this, this stage in pregnancy is the absolute worst. I have definitely been way more anxious this time around.

I can't wait to get to the stage where I can feel movement so then won't be in constant worry that something has went wrong.

I'm 9+3 today and so far not feeling as bad as I normally do, also had a dream that I started bleeding, thankfully I'm not! The worry is terrible.

I went to a pregnancy massage / guided meditation thing yesterday (because I'm like you - I am waiting to something to go wrong as it has so many times before) which really helped me be more in tune with my body.... they reminded me that we have to trust that our bodies know how to do the right thing and trust that things will go how they are meant to and nothing we can do or not do will change that.
This helped me personally as it reminded myself to try and make peace that I can't control anything but my body is made to protect this baby and to grow it. There is no point worrying about things until we are told to worry. I'm trying to remind myself of that more!

Beccaa123 · 30/10/2024 11:03

Thanks everyone.
It's so hard when the most beautiful thing is the most difficult thing.
It's nice to know I'm not alone in my feelings, but I definitely need to trust that it will work out. I've seen the baby, I've heard the heartbeat at over 10 weeks, the odds are in my favour

There's some very good first trimester mindfulness videos on YouTube - I'm usually not a meditation / mindfulness person at all - but they were actually really helpful (even just taking time out just for yourself!)

BoldLemur · 30/10/2024 14:09

@Beccaa123 I completely get it. I had a missed miscarriage in February and didn't find out until my 12 week scan it was completely heartbreaking. I also feel like I haven't had my body back for a year now. It took me a long time to recover from the miscarriage physically and emotionally I just feel like if something goes wrong in this pregnancy I just couldn't put my body through all this sickness and tiredness again. @fingerscrossedmumma the meditation sound good all we can do it live in the moment right.

fingerscrossedmumma · 30/10/2024 18:13

We just had our 12 week scan!!!! Super exciting!

Just a quick question - I had a scan at the EPU 6 days ago and it was measuring 11+6, now they have officially dated me as 12+1. Should I be worried that there's only 2 days of growth in 6 days?

Does anyone know if food aversions go away at all or whether I am doomed this whole pregnancy? I have very severe aversion to certain foods (usually my favourites which makes it harder!) and even the smell of it can put me off all food the rest of the day. Hoping this is one of those things that gets a bit better soon?

In my last pregnancy, I had aversion to coffee, and I have the same aversion this pregnancy too.. the smell even annoys me. Didn't drink coffee the whole of last pregnancy, and it looks like it could be the same with this pregnancy.

dies,
Not sure why in posting but im wondering if anyone has been through similar and can offer any advice or anything 🙏
Felling so numb and scared.
Im 40 yrs old with 2 young girls 7 & 5. We recently found out we were pregnant which was a huge shock. After getting to 13 wks, we had our 1st nhs scan tuesday, and we were shocked when they found high level of fluid on babies neck.
We got my bloods done immediately for the combined test.
I got a call that night to go see the consultant the nxt day.
We were at hospital for 4hrs getting a scan and trans v scan. Which confirmed fluis and possible issue with the nasal bone... they wanted me to do a cvs test where i had the needle through my stomach which i had and we should have results in a few days.
Its all been so emotionally draining and im so scared.
Since getting home that evening i got a call with the original blood tests. This shows a high risk of a genetic condition. They explained the numbers and its come back as 1 in 2 of down syndrome, and 1 in 125 edwards/patau syndrome.

Im in such a state of shock i feel numb, every emotion is running through my body and i can hardly sleep.
Just wondering if anyone has been or going through similar? 💔😢 xxx

Has anyone got a bump yet?
When is normal to start showing? Although I assume there isn't such a thing!
I'm 11 weeks, I can definitely feel trousers getting tighter but I don't have a bump.
When I'm lying down, the bottom of my abdomen feels different, which I assume is my womb starting to move and grow.

I've definitely got a noticeable bump at 11wk3 it's my 2nd pregnancy. With my first pregnancy I didn't show until around 14wks.

It also depends on your body type and how tall you're etc.

24CRZZNKKA · 31/10/2024 09:20

@kimlpool

I'm so sorry. I don't have any experience of this, all I can say is take some time to look into everything and speak with the professionals.

Take care x

littlestrawberryhat · 31/10/2024 09:56

@Kimlpool I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I wish I could help, hope you’re getting all the support you need x

BrightGoose · 31/10/2024 14:10

I defo have a bump especially when lying down I no it’s a bump cuz I’ve lost weight and the only play that looks remotely bigger is the lower abdomen but I think some is bloating too

Toothfairy0113 · 31/10/2024 18:24

Yep, feel like i'm starting with a bit of a bump now too (11+5).. Realised today I can't suck it in anymore 🤣 It's my 3rd though so think my body's a bit like "ooooh, we're doing this again are we?? No problem!" 🤣

GraySweatpants · 31/10/2024 20:34

@Kimlpool Sorry you’re going through this.

I posted a few days ago with similar problem but it was my hormones that indicate a high chance for Down and my NT measurement was normal. Had the CVS and everything came back clear for Down, Patau, and Edward so that was a relief! It was pretty quick too about 48 hours after the test.

I understand what you’re going through. Just want to wish all the best of luck to you with the pregnancy x

BoldLemur · 01/11/2024 09:09

I've got a bump although don't think it's noticeable to other people yet. @Kimlpool sorry your going through that. Must be so hard for you right now you could ring tommys helpline if you need someone to talk things through maybe would help with the stress

BrodieKD · 01/11/2024 20:44

Hello everyone - sorry I've been MIA! I'm 14+2 now and feeling good. How are you all?

I'm so sorry you are going through this @Kimlpool I'm thinking of you and here if you need to chat x

I have been floored with some sort of cold/virus for a week. I am always someone who just gets on with stuff but I’ve been completely out of it with this, just absolutely no energy, feeling really weak and horrible. Feel so guilty because my 3 year old keeps asking if I’m still not well. I’m sure it’ll pass, I just haven’t ever been in a situation where I literally just have to lie down and rest all the time for so long. Praying that I’ll start feeling better soon!
