I have just found out I am expecting baby number 2 and my due date is 1st May.

Has anyone else found out they are expecting and looking for some company?

Yes! Having to force myself to eat because I know I need to but my diet is very beige and boring at the moment. The only time of day I'm managing to eat properly is lunch time so I'm trying to fill myself up then.

Hello everyone. For those of you that have had early scans what does number does the MI number at the top read? I'm thinking of making a complaint to the scan clinic i went too as I think the MI reading is too high but wanted to find out other people's MI reading on here for a comparison. Thanks. X

BoldLemur · 21/10/2024 12:58

Sorry typo in the last message i'm angry typing. I just don't want anything to put my baby at risk.

From my NHS 12 week scan it says 0.9 (didn’t even know what this was until I googled it just now) how high is yours?

BoldLemur · 21/10/2024 13:13

Mine is 1.3. Everything I'm reading says it shouldn't be above 1

BoldLemur · 21/10/2024 13:14

Probably everything it fine but after my miscarage I'm just anxious about everything

BrightGoose · 21/10/2024 15:19

Mine was 1.1 I don’t know anything about what the numbers mean.

think my hormones are winning the sick battle again, been sick again today I might have to add another antiemetic into my mixture but no idea what I could have.

Zeeha · 21/10/2024 17:58

Hi @BoldLemur I've had a scan today as I have a SCH so I'm having scans every two weeks for monitoring. Baby measures 11+2 and MI reads 0.9. What does it mean?

BoldLemur · 21/10/2024 18:43

So I did some research. The MI is basically the strength of the ultrasound. Guidelines are that the MI should not read above 1 for pregnancy related ultrasounds. Its not a law its just medical Guidelines. So I read that and freaked out as I went to a private scan clinic for my scan. I actually ended up ringing the British medical ultrasound society and spoke to a lovely women that confirmed ultrasound in pregnancy shouldn't be an MI of above 1 however she said I shouldn't be concerned atall and the baby will be fine but she did suggest I contact the scan clinic to let them know that is the medical guildnes. I'm just being paranoid and am so sick most of the time and off work so thinking too much😅

BrightGoose · 21/10/2024 20:00

That makes sense as my sonographer said that we like to be as quick as possible because the equipment heats up. That must have been what she meant which is reassuring even tho mine was higher than 1 it was only 1.1.

Hey!
Has anyone been lucky enough to lose their first trimester symptoms? If so when did they start going away?
I am 10 weeks tomorrow and I feel like over the last couple of days I've started to perk up a bit.

I'm 12 weeks and mine went for a bit at around 9-10 weeks then came back, however for the last few days I have started to feel better.

I perked up slightly then got his with nausea all over again at 11 weeks!

I've had a bit of spotting today (been spotting on an off since 5 weeks) and I am terrified as we had a missed miscarriage previously. I am trying to remind myself that there really is nothing I can do at this stage except try to trust my body.

Oh, it must be an anxious time for you, I hope all is well!
I had a scan yesterday and baby was measuring 9+3, strong heartbeat. But that doesn't seem to take away the worrying thoughts, especially now I've had a few days in a row where I don't feel pregnant

Quickdraw23 · 22/10/2024 11:47

I feel the same @Beccaa123, in fact have had quite mild symptoms since week 9, and been worrying it means something is up, but everything I have read said symptoms not indicative of the state if the pregnancy. Did have a scan at 7w5d as this is IVF pregnancy, which showed everything fine. Am now 10w3d and trying to fight the anxiety! I contemplated another private scan but decided against as not much I can do if it’s a negative outcome, and thought it might offer me half a day of reassurance and then I would be back to worrying! NHS scan is in just over two weeks and I’m going to be very glad to get past that milestone i think.

Hope you can distract from the worry! Best wishes!

rosecbrm · 22/10/2024 11:52

@Beccaa123 I'm 11 weeks now and from I'd say around 8 weeks until 10 I barely felt pregnant other than sore boobs and needing to pee a lot! The past few days the nausea has come back slightly every now and then but other than that I'm just tired and have sore boobs! Even the needing to pee has eased slightly in the past couple of days! X

rosecbrm · 22/10/2024 11:53

I should add that I also had a scan at what I thought was 9w but messing 9w 3d and all was fine, next scan is 12wk scan on Tuesday next week which I'm so anxious for!

I feel your pain x

BoldLemur · 22/10/2024 12:12

I was literally about to type a message about the same things. So yesterday I was so sick threw up three times and felt terrible. Today I feel so much more normal. I've actually done cleaning and some gardening and feel fine so I'm obviously now worrying that something is wrong. I'm 9 weeks 4 days today so looking at the othe posts this seems to be about the time that morning sickness can tend to ease which is reasuring

Poster57 · 22/10/2024 12:42

@ThatGladSwan I'm so glad you said this. I got a bit better around 10 weeks and now around 12 I’m feeling worse again. Hoping it goes soon and I can feel a bit more normal!

Beccaa123 · 22/10/2024 12:49

Thanks everyone!
It makes me feel better knowing it's not just me and that it sounds perfectly normal

I thought it would have stopped a couple weeks ago but no! Hoping it completely goes soon though😅

Margaretschlege · 22/10/2024 14:05

Could I possibly have the link to the Facebook group please? I left after a week of bleeding which was getting worse, but it looks like everything is fine. I would love to rejoin the community : Thank you so much!

I'm also feeling quite unwell and having a very rubbish diet like several other people in the thread . I got excited when I saw that there was a group, because that means that we are well on our way now!

TheBeesKnee · 22/10/2024 14:39

I thought I was dying from HG between 8-10 weeks. Then it all stopped.

Today I am 12 weeks and feel really emotional, but that might be because of the atrocious night's sleep I got, I was up 4-6:30am. Not sure how I'm going to make it through the day.

rosielu · 22/10/2024 15:11

Hey ladies
Hope you are well. I haven't posted in here for a while. I'm 12 weeks today and the nausea is still going strong 😭 I did have a bit of a break from it a few weeks ago, my tiredness is extreme today too I can barely stay awake!! Really hoping I start to feel more normal in a few weeks, I have my 12 week scan on Thursday. Keep pushing through ladies 💗💗

Loute02 · 22/10/2024 16:35

Got my 12w scan on Thursday as well! I'll be exactly 12w on that day. Been feeling pretty rubbish (so so tired, sore boobs, crying for no reason and nausea). I've been sick a couple of times between 9-11weeks but noticed that it was made worse if I took my multivitamin without eating. If I take it with my breakfast I still feel nauseous but not throwing up.
Been for a scan + NIPT last week and got the results on Sunday. Low risk for everything and apparently this will be another boy!
Waiting for my scan on Thursday and NHS results before sharing the news with our family next week 🥰
