I have just found out I am expecting baby number 2 and my due date is 1st May.

Has anyone else found out they are expecting and looking for some company?

Hi,
I am 9 weeks pregnant and since last night I've had a heavy feeling in my lower stomach. At first I thought it was bloating or constipation but I'm not sure that it is.
Has anyone else had this sort of feeling? I wouldn't say it's painful but definitely uncomfortable

I had that probably around the same time. Was such a weird feeling but I’m now just over 12 weeks and it’s gone away and all was fine with my 12 week scan ☺️

Thank you!
It's strange, it's almost like I'm full, but I'm also hungry.
My only symptom really is my breasts are sore, so everything is panicking me!
I actually have a scan on Monday, I'll be 9+5 so fingers crossed all is still ok

I think symptoms really do vary. I’ve had nausea and some vomiting which has made me feel like I’ve had no energy to do anything other than lie on the sofa but I’ve not had sore breasts at all which really worried me as that seems to be everyone’s main symptom. It’s hard not to worry but we are all different. Some people don’t have any symptoms at all! I’m sure all will be fine at your scan ☺️

I hope so, my husband won't be there as he's travelling for work, so I'm going with the assumption all will be good. We've already heard the heartbeat 💓
I forgot to say as well, I'm glad your 12 week went well!

california22 · 17/10/2024 13:12

@Dojo13 It's the same for me this time - I am sick and have nausea, bloating, etc, but breasts are only a little bit sore - I remember last pregnancy they were very sore! It seems like all pregnancies are different in terms of symptoms..

Had my booking in appointment yesterday and due on May 18th, seems so far away!!!

24CRZZNKKA · 18/10/2024 13:40

Hi Kim, I'm 40 too with two DC 7 and 5 😀

For those who are off sick, what have you told me your work? Or got written on your sick line. For various reasons I was hoping to keep it from my work until a good bit later ( they'll change my role when I tell them ) but Im not sure I can handle another week like this one and think I'm going to need couple weeks off to hopefully get past the worst of it!

Blossomofhope · 18/10/2024 15:38

@24CRZZNKKA I got a med cert from the doctor today and they just stated medical condition. She also said to email in a week if I need it extended. I had holidays to take this week which worked out well. I’m hoping the sickness will peak this week.

BrightGoose · 19/10/2024 13:27

I had to tell work because my occupation I cannot do certain things when pregnant so have to have a risk assessment so I didn’t care what they put on my sick note but u can ask them do not state pregnancy but being pregnant really protects you in terms of absence, dismissal and a host of other things so it’s not always a bad thing for work to know.

Jess2826 · 19/10/2024 20:01

Hello ladies,
I'm currently 9 weeks 2 days. This is my 4th pregnancy after 3 losses. I had an early scan on Monday at the epau and everything looked good and measuring 4 days ahead. Currently feeling nauseas but especially so after sleeping or lying down which doesn't help when I feel so tired! Also super hungry all the time but don't want to eat anything 😫

Hey! I am the same! Starving but nauseous - and have the worst food aversions to my favourite foods!! I'm also pregnant after a few losses so I am super anxious but everything looked ok a few weeks ago at 9 weeks so I'm staying positive!

SweetpeaMcD · 19/10/2024 22:02

Hi everyone, hope we’re all doing well.

Joining you all at 11+6, 12 week scan is Monday and I’m so nervous. We paid for an early private scan and all was okay, but just overwhelmed with anxiety over it after a miscarriage earlier this year 😞 only now really allowing myself to believe it’s all real.

We have a little girl, 3, and the plan is to tell her about the baby after the scan, does anyone have any ideas on how to break the news? She has conveniently been asking for a baby sister the last few days so I think she’ll be happy, but just no idea how to tell her 🤯

Thats crazy 🤪🩷 litrelly in same position 💕 was this little one planned for you?
Was a total shock for me and ive worried so much for my other 2. Would be so nice to chat with someone in similar position if youd like? 💕 xx

BrightGoose · 20/10/2024 06:57

I also have a 7 year old and a 4 year old I can’t wait to tell my 4 year old she’s going to be super happy. Mine was very much planned. the food adversities are horrific arnt they just walking around the supermarket is horrible. Having been pregnant twice before I am craving the same stuff as the last two times so I have some familiar go toos. The prochlorazapine is working a treat for me now I can actually function I am still nauseas but it’s like a 3or4 out of 10 rather than 10 and I haven’t been sick since starting them.

24CRZZNKKA · 20/10/2024 07:27

@kim Sort of planned sort of not. Aw had always wanted and planned to have 3, but after my second I struggled to get pregnant and the two times that I did ended in MC. We kind of gave up last year, stopped talking about a third and I made my peace with it .....then this happened 😁

I've woken up this morning not feeling too bad, so now I'm worried as to why I'm not feeling as ill! Never ending rollercoaster eh?

Have decided to book a private scan for some point next week, stuck between wanting to know all is ok and not wanting to know that it's not.

24CRZZNKKA · 20/10/2024 07:30

@brightgoose

I'm looking forward to telling the 7yr old, she's always going on about a third, even last night she said to me 'mummy when you have a boy can we call him Luca' 😂

I like her optimism of 'when' not 'if'!

I'm glad to hear that your meds are working, such a relief just to be able to function

Iv also found that iv been going to similar foods as last times too, unfortunately it's chips with lots of salt 🙈

BrightGoose · 20/10/2024 09:52

Mine tends to be food brought from outside like a cheese baguette or egg McMuffin or chips 😂 which is now costing a fortune 😂 ham sandwich seems ok but only expensive ham 🤦‍♀️

some days my symptoms are less then other days I wouldn’t worry too much about one better day ( I no easier said than done).

This has been me this week but this weekend my body said "enough!" and I've forced down some salad and vegetables and fresh food 😆

My problem is that I've finally stopped being sick, but everything smells so bad/more potent and lots of things I used to enjoy taste so different. Is this normal? I didn't have it with my first. Even cheese and onion crisps (which I love) are now repulsive!

winning2024 · 20/10/2024 10:28

@Kimlpool no not told him yet, but he has been telling everyone we are having a baby and mummy has a baby in her tummy for months so he will be over the moon!!!
Not in any facebooks groups no - I did try to access the one on one of these chats but keeps saying page not found 🤷🏼‍♀️
Had my booking in appointment on Thursday so just waiting on my 12 week scan now.
Anyone else just constantly hungry but feel ill as soon as you eat 😭

BrightGoose · 20/10/2024 10:45

The smell and taste thing is completely normal it’s so strange I told my friend who was pregnant this time last year that it’s like being a whole different person for 9months it’s like I remember you feel different but I defo didn’t remember just how different you feel. I’m really sensitive to smells anyway so that’s my big trigger

I have my booking appointment on Thursday I don’t even know where to begin I know I’ll be consultant led again I had something call obstetric choleostasis in my first pregnancy and I was so unwell by the end so they will keep an eye out for that.
