I have just found out I am expecting baby number 2 and my due date is 1st May.

Has anyone else found out they are expecting and looking for some company?

Things not looking good here. Woke up to grainy brown discharge and now it turned to watery brown discharge. This is how all my previous MC have started.

Absolutely gutted, had stupidly allowed myself to get excited about this one.
Still feeling very sick as well which is just a head f*ck

Read this and it sounded very similar to me depending on where you are weeks wise.

I had a miscarriage earlier this year just for reference at 6 weeks - very painful cramping (worse than menstrual) and bright red bleeding. Knew it was over instantly.

This time I had brown spotting and watery brown between weeks 7-8. Thought it was over. Had a private scan and all looked good - saw my 2cm blob and the little heartbeat going.

I hope its the same for you. Will keep my fingers crossed x

LeBonBon · 13/10/2024 13:13

@24CRZZNKKA should also say it was grainy and strange.

I was throwing up loads by then too. Hopefully that is a good sign!

BrightGoose · 13/10/2024 14:34

Hey I’ve had pink and brown discharge for over two weeks now and everything is ok with me I also bleed with both my other pregnancies I know it’s easy to say try not to panic cuz I did always but take care!

even with antiemetics I was sick this morning and this afternoon. I just cannot shake it

24CRZZNKKA · 13/10/2024 15:52

Thanks ladies, I think it's just because of my history. Never had any bleeding in my two successful pregnancies, but started with brown blood on my MC.

I've decided not to go for a scan, i'll wait for a couple of days and see what happens with the bleeding and symptoms.

Oh love, I'm thinking of you and hoping it turns out ok!

Ahhh I'm sorry, it's so hard isn't it because bleeding CAN be nothing, but with a history it must be so scary. How are things today?

Margaretschlege · 14/10/2024 11:21

I was worried for the same reason, no bleeding in my successful pregnancies, always bleeding in my unsuccessful pregnancies.

But this time I have bleeding and so wrote it off (left the facebook group) but an eight-week scan showed everything was fine. I'm now trying to think about why it would be different this time, including worrying about whether bleeding links to chromosomal abnormalities, but I don't think there's much evidence for it. Fingers crossed for you x

TheBeesKnee · 15/10/2024 10:29

I had bleeding with my first pregnancy around 12 weeks and thought it was all over but they scanned me and couldn't explain the bleed and it was okay in the end. I don't know how normal or common that is though, my SIL had a miscarriage at 11 weeks, it really seems like an absolute lottery.

I'm also going to have a planned CS. I was induced with my first then had an EMCS because he flipped at some point and was a footling presentation. I was secretly relieved after 2 days on the induction ward and about 3 hours' sleep in that time. I only got to 1cm, felt trapped by the pain, was very tired and fed up and don't know how I'd have coped with labour on so little sleep. I also had gestational diabetes and the food provided wasn't very GD friendly.

I was kept in for 5 days because DS had a suspected infection and had trouble feeding. I'm hoping I will be out quicker this time!

BrightGoose · 15/10/2024 13:59

I had to stay in a week with my first cuz of complications with him and me and then 4 days with my daughter due to covid she needed a scan ( due to sons issues) but it could only be done while we was in hospital no visitors no nothing it was awful I’m really hoping for a level of normality this time.

24CRZZNKKA · 15/10/2024 15:34

Thanks for everyone's messages.

Bleeding/discharge has pretty much stopped (only had it on the Sunday) and I still feel absolutely awful with sickness and lack of energy.

I haven't phoned epu yet, not sure what to do, currently nightshift this week so might see if I can book a private scan or maybe contact epu next week

BrightGoose · 15/10/2024 20:03

I’m not able to even work at the min I have only been out of bed for about three hours today I was sick three times but everytime I move I’m heaving feel sick constantly even with anti sickness and I’m absolutely shattered headaches and everything I have an appointment tomorrow with EPU to get some IV fluids and look at my antiemetics

BrightGoose · 15/10/2024 20:04

Glad to hear your bleeding has settled

RichTeaCheddars · 15/10/2024 20:26

@BrightGoose sorry to hear you are so bad with it. What antiemetics are you on already?
I'm on cyclizine, Xonvea and metoclopramide. The metoclopramide seems to have really helped compared to the other 2.
Really good you have an appointment tomorrow

BrightGoose · 15/10/2024 20:41

I’m on metoclopramide only I tried cyclizine in my last pregnancy n I fainted after taking it but I only tried it once so I might have to try it again or what ever else they can give me. I’m heaving hourly it’s just so painful.

how sick were you @RichTeaCheddars

RichTeaCheddars · 15/10/2024 20:46

It is so painful isn't it! Hopefully they can prescribe something else. Have you tried prochlorperazine? That's a 1st line treatment. Often people need to be on multiple medications to steady them.

Have you looked at pregnancy sickness support website?

In my first pregnancy I was really sick. I lost 1.5 stone in the first trimester. This time I'm 7 weeks and I've asked for more meds for each of the last 3 weeks. Hopefully the addition of metoclopramide will see me through. I had a violent vomiting episode on Friday where nothing stayed down. This was before I got the metoclopramide.
Are you on the full dose?

BrightGoose · 15/10/2024 21:02

i normally only manage two a day because I was told to take them 8 hourly. Yes I will have a look I’m just praying for after 10/12 weeks so I can have the ondansatron. I normally vomit the first dose up aswell so now I’m just sick then I take it which I don’t mind. Food adversons themself are making me heave just the look of food on the tv can set me off.

RichTeaCheddars · 15/10/2024 21:04

I think the booklet inside my packet said the usual dose is 10mg 3 X a day, at least 6 hours a part. I'm on 5mg 3 x a day ATM. And I'll likely go up at 8.5/9 weeks to 10mg as that is when I peaked last time.

Definitely check you are on the max dose you can be so you get the full effect

24CRZZNKKA · 16/10/2024 14:11

Sorry to see everyone is so unwell. I didn't realise you could get prescribed more than one medication at a time. Iv stopped taking the cyclizine as I felt it was making me feel even worse.

I vomitted in my work car park last night, thankfully no one saw me!

It's terrible how women are just expected to get on with normal life in this state, early pregnancy should be an automatic reason for time off and complete bed rest!

Absolutely. It’s nuts isn’t it how the expectation is that you just carry on and it’s not treated like another illness

BrightGoose · 16/10/2024 17:04

Carry on as normal and don’t tell anyone. Yeah right I look like Halloweens come early!

feeling so much better today start prochlorperazine stopped the metoclopromide as it was having me palpitations and I also have finished antibiotics which I think we’re making me feel more sick (renowned for it).

my blood sugar was only 4.4 this morning after food so they’ve told me try and get something surgery first thing as I know it’s been so low.
I’ve got some nights in novemeber I’m don’t know how I’m going to get on. I hope you’re feeling better today. @24CRZZNKKA

california22 · 16/10/2024 17:24

Sorry to hear a few of you are also feeling unwell. It has now hit me like a ton of bricks. I started prochlorperazine today and it seems to be helping we shall see. But it is also the incredible exhaustion and the feeling of just being unwell, I am feeling cold most of the time, sweating... last time it was also worse at 8-9 weeks - today I am 8 weeks - so I am hoping this is the worst of it. I've been off work this week and asked for a sick note for the first time in my life, but my work is very busy and physical and there is no way I would be able to go.

Margaretschlege · 16/10/2024 20:12

I'm feeling terrible - tried five different drugs which don't work and it's very upsetting

Margaretschlege · 16/10/2024 20:13

Hoping it eases for everyone

Blossomofhope · 16/10/2024 22:15

Hi ladies
Im 9 weeks tomorrow and also been feeling terrible. I had this week off work but thinking I’ll ask the gp for a med cert Friday as it’s just all encompassing. Some days are a little better but feel generally awful and the bloating is something else. I’m not on any meds but after doing ivf in the past I’m just very against taking anything now. Next scan on Friday, I really hope the little heartbeat is still there.
I hope you’re all doing ok, it’s a tough time but will be so worth it in the end!
