Just curious if anyone had experienced anything more painful than labour and if so what?

Tooth abcess reaching the nerve. That was proper agonising, I have no words to describe it and all I hot after that many hours of suffering was a mahoosive hole where my molar used to be, which took forever and ever to heal.
I had gas and air for my labour. It was a long long one. But I got a healthy baby after this one! Much better 😁

Gallstones were definitely more painful.

In part because there was no end in sight. Labour was painful but also purposeful, I knew that every contraction was one pain closer to the end. Gallstones pain was agony (morphine level agony and I managed Labour on a bit of gas n air) and there was no way of knowing when or if it would ever end.

Migraines, root canals. There are lots of pains worse than childbirth.

Rocknrollstar · 20/08/2024 07:54

My right hip had crumbled and I was trying to walk on it, Much much worse than childbirth. I used to wake up in the night crying.

Gallstones at the weekend, i honestly thought it was a heart attack. Six hour in excellent accident and emergency, some tablets and I was releat. Cannot fault the hospital staff, they were brilliant

Tooth ache, standing on a plug, shoulder impingement

Avie29 · 20/08/2024 10:39

Tooth abscess, Costochondritis, but to be honest i don’t think they are more painful, just more constant and longer and no happy little surprise at the end lol labour is definitely the most intense pain ive ever felt but its over with quickly by the time it get to the real pain your pretty much pushing lol xx

Dry socket. Way worse.

My ectopic pregnancy was pretty brutal and worse than the labour contractions I had (didn’t make it to the end though, had emergency CS so not sure if I qualify!)

Amniocentesis

I had a miscarriage but even after an operation it hadn't come away properly, I had twenty four hours of sheer agony, until I eventually passed it and had to take it to the hospital for examination.
The worst pain I have ever experienced, I couldn't even move, much worse than labour.

Pantaloons99 · 21/08/2024 03:13

My intestine perforated. It literally tore open after it became blocked. It's pain like nothing I've ever known

IMBCRound2 · 21/08/2024 08:51

I slept through my labour and then refused to push because I assumed it wasn’t happening because it didn’t hurt. My periods are ten times worse. Had a steady parade of students midwives coming into to observe 😂

things that have hurt more than labour:
dengue
broken bones
ripped toenail off
migraines
sprains
scorpion bites
several parasitic infections
general muscle soreness

TransvestitesOnParade · 21/08/2024 08:57

My shoulder dislocates itself every now and again. I'd rather give birth again than have my shoulder pop out thanks.

Snugglewuggle25 · 21/08/2024 09:30

Slipped disc in my back, pleurisy and blood clots on my lungs!! I've had 4 kids! ✨️🤣

Dressinggowntime · 21/08/2024 09:33

My natural birth with no pain relief could probably be topped by trigeminal neuralgia and a torn cornea. My birth on an induction drip with no pain relief was definitely worse than anything I’ve experienced before.

SmallTownWay · 21/08/2024 13:48

I've never experienced any pain as bad as my first birth.

My second birth was much easier and I've had a couple of things that were worse, a tooth abscess and pain after an accident.

thejollytrolleydolly · 21/08/2024 15:35

Tooth infection omg I couldn't see it was that painful! I never ever want to feel that pain again! Labour however I would definitely do again (even though it was pretty shit too)

WiseDog · 21/08/2024 22:50
