We had our scan this morning and all is well 🥰 So relived!

Also, do you know what you’re having? I want to predict girl using my limited nub theory skills ✨

Lillers · 13/03/2024 11:28

I’m going away this weekend for my mum’s birthday. Sister picking me up Friday morning, lots of lovely things planned, husband coming to join on Sunday before we all come home Sunday night.

Oh and the NHS finally got back to me with my scan date! Saturday morning. While I’m away. And now to try to change it, I have to call the same number that hasn’t been replying for the last 3 weeks.

😭

Hurrah @Caroline2023! Lovely photo Smile

I have no words @Lillers...! You couldn't make it up!

I've just been on the Asda website and bought lots of maternity tops and t-shirts- the prices are cheaper than Vinted! Will let you know what the quality is like when they arrive.

Lillers · 13/03/2024 11:41

@Decaffe I know, I just can’t believe it. Husband is on the case - he says if they don’t respond on the phone or to my email by 3 then he’s going to the hospital to talk to them face to face… where they will probably just tell him they can only talk to me and I should call this number 😂😭

Thank you @HolyMoly24 @Honeyandsunshine1 @Decaffe !

@Honeyandsunshine1 My nausea and sickness have improved and hoping it stays that way! No we don’t know! We’ve got a private sex scan booked for 13th April. Ooo interesting that you think girl!!

Cinai · 13/03/2024 12:05

Congrats @Caroline2023 lovely scan picture!

rupertbear91 · 13/03/2024 12:06

Lovely scan @Caroline2023. I have mine on Friday and getting nervous.

I spent 8 hours in EPU hooked up to various drips and fluids yesterday I hoped to feel more alive today but think it's just drained me even more!

MudandMoet · 13/03/2024 12:11

@Caroline2023 lovely scan. I would guess that @Honeyandsunshine1 is correct with girl! I know virtually all scan pics look identical at this stage but your scan photo looks incredibly similar to mine (girl) do you have any DC already?

@Lillers nooo!!! you couldn't write it! It's great that you have one later else you'd be even more fuming.

HRP1990 · 13/03/2024 12:14

@Caroline2023 congrats! So glad your scan went well! 🫶🏼

@Lillers lol you just can’t make this up! How far will you be Saturday? Surely they can’t give you less than a weeks notice! I had like 4 weeks!

@Decaffe let us know how you get on, I just went on the website and reviews looks great for almost everything!

Lillers · 13/03/2024 12:18

@HRP1990 I’ll be nearly 3 hours away. Dh has offered to drive me straight down to join everyone afterwards, but that would mean of my 3 day break, I’d be there for less than 24 hours. Considering I’m the one who booked it, paid for it and organised all the activities it would really upset me (and my mum) for me to miss so much of it. I honestly can’t believe it - I think they really had forgotten me and have stuck me in an emergency slot with how little notice there is.

@Lillers I am so sorry you’re having such an awful time, from the persistent vomiting to all the stress around your scan 😞. You seem to be handling it all like an absolute trooper, but I wish you didn’t have to be being so tested.

For anyone struggling with sickness, I really, really hope it passes soon 😣❤️

Lillers · 13/03/2024 15:14

Thanks @Bakerbean - it has been a lot.

Dh has sacked off work early today and come to get me to sort this out, so we’re on our way to the hospital to try to talk to someone face to face. Once we’ve done that, off to the private scan!

OP posts:
Kate543 · 13/03/2024 15:37

@lillers I cannot believe they are being so difficult with your scan! I really hope you manage to sort it out when you go face to face! And good luck with the private scan

hol92 · 13/03/2024 16:16

Lovely scan @Caroline2023 ! Tomorrow can't come quick enough! I'm working from home today and all I can think about is the scan, trying to get an advert done and my mind is just blank with ideas! It's not until 2.30 tomorrow so going to try keep out the house all morning as it seems like it's in the house I'm worse with my thoughts

SantasRubiksCube · 13/03/2024 16:32

Does anyone else suffer from SPD/PGP? I had it in my last pregnancy, starting very mildly at the beginning of third trimester but only 15 weeks and it's already started, and it's all the time. It was so painful the other night it made me gasp with pain just walking up the stairs, I'm actually worried how I'm going to make it to the end of this pregnancy without being in alot of pain 😔 I've tried all the NHS suggestions to help but nothing so far has helped. I will talk to my midwife at next appointment but the last pregnancy I was just constantly brushed off with 'take paracetamol and a warm bath'.

longingtobe23 · 13/03/2024 16:44

Urgh my son was off today with highest temp and sickness
I had to have the whole day off and I had so much to do at work - now to top it off
I feel super sick 😖

cherry on top! So sending love and sympathy to everyone else suffering this week 😔 here’s to a better one next week

Demi55 · 13/03/2024 16:56

Had my 12 week scan today, measuring ahead of what I thought! They were so wriggling! It was lovely to see!

@SantasRubiksCube i had PGP in my last pregnancy too, the pain is awful so I really feel for you getting it early this time. Maybe speak to your gp about what pain relief they can offer. Things like codeine is safe in pregnancy. And I'm sure you already know but I have a belt that helps lift the bump and relieve the pain a tad which could help when you do get a bigger bump.

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 13/03/2024 18:13

@SantasRubiksCube yes! Me! 15 weeks and I was in agony Saturday- Tuesday. I saw my OB-GYN as she was concerned about pain this early on, had a thorough scan to rule out any other issues (sometimes there's an issue with the placenta and it's a sign of early miscarriage if you also have bleeding). Everything was fine, baby was doing somersaults inside me, so I got a referral to a women's physio. I'm seeing her tomorrow.

Swimming (not breastroke!) is meant to help a lot. Another mumsnetter said swimming helped her massively so I will ask my physio and try that.

Anyone else got their 12 weeks scan today? 😃 Mine is at 12:00. Excited for my scan and far less nervous than last time when I had my NIPT at 11 weeks. Only issue is that I have a moody DH in tow. He’s self-employed and sulks because he would like/should be working today. I told him again and again it’s fine for him to go to work, we’ve been at the NIPT together and he saw the baby then, but he preferred to cancel his work and sulk instead 🤷‍♀️

Had my scan with DH present, and my god it felt like he just wanted to be at work!
I was shown his full work schedule, asked to do his admin, he mansplained how to write a report.
At which point I redirect conversation and he gets annoyed 'are you paying attention?'.
I'm excited to meet our baby, could you also focus on the baby please? 'Oh' 🙃.

Scan is all good, baby is a fidget! This feels so very really now. In 6 months I'll have a newborn!!

Search online for exercise videos for PGP.
I was doing pregnancy safe workouts but ended up with PGP in the first few weeks.
There are a few simple leg lifts, pelvic floor exercises which eased it and has cured it!
Gp's are useless, midwives/ health visitors/ other mums are the best source of advice for actual benefits/reliefs for everyday pregnancy issues.
PGP can be debilitating, keep trying simple things to its easier better. 🥰

SantasRubiksCube · 13/03/2024 18:47

@SC126 @TTCSoManyQuestions88 thanks, I will try to get hold of midwife tomorrow or GP to see if there's anything else I can have and to check there's nothing else going on. I don't have any other pain or bleeding, just feels like I'm being kicked in the crotch really hard with every step, like a horrible bruised feeling (it's hard to describe 😂) the joys of pregnancy eh?

SantasRubiksCube · 13/03/2024 18:48

@24September24 thanks I will have a look online later to see what I can find

Lillers · 13/03/2024 19:11

In the words of Collins from MAFS Australia: “What. A. DAY!”

We got the NHS scan sorted - went to the hospital and to the ultrasound reception. No wonder they never answer the phones - they don’t even ring! Anyway, they have changed the dating scan to next Wednesday, so I can relax on my weekend away with my family. They said they’ve texted me with appointments, but nothing arrived. I checked my number on their system, and I get all my other antenatal and GP appointments through fine, so I definitely think there’s an issue at their end.

Then we had our private scan - and baby is real! I haven’t just been imagining being pregnant all this time! They were very bouncy, using my uterus as a trampoline in the words of the sonographer. Heartbeat is strong and baby is measuring 12+3 (I thought I was 11+6, so a few days ahead). I cannot even describe the relief!
