@RachLeeds Next to me's are bigger so you'll get longer than I have!

She had an alright night last night, managed to settle back down and fed on the next wake up.

Just a disclaimer; I would obv feed if she was hungry but she's been waking herself up hoying her arms around.

See what tonight bring!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 20/05/2024 21:21

I know they're not recommended for night sleep but little man sleeps in a nest pod; he never settled in his next 2 me until I added it in cos I think he felt so small in it.

Cheetocat · 22/05/2024 10:34

Anyone else's LO started to be interested in looking at screens? I do wordle and sudokus on my phone to stay awake when he needs cuddles in the night, I'm doomed. 😳 He tries watching the telly too! I'm trying to adhere to no screens till 2 and already failing.

Yeah she'll look at phone or the tele, dim the brightness on a night time if he's being nosy

I think my little one is going through another growth spurt. She’s been super fussy today and didn’t want to be put down at all, keeps crying when we do. She’s been super hungry and really tired so contact napping alot. She is otherwise well in herself.

Has anyone else experienced this with a 14 week old? Any tips on how to manage it?

DmcinT · 23/05/2024 21:22

@Ebonythoughts I could have written this, I actually came on to see if any of you were discussing it. My LO is exactly the same yest and today. Also she’s harder to get to sleep but is sleeping in big stretches even for naps (2-4hrs during the day)

Ebonythoughts · 23/05/2024 22:00

@DmcinT glad it’s not just me!

She’s also starting sucking on her fingers and not being satisfied after a feed. She’s a hungry baby and drinking 6oz but today I was tempted to start giving her 7oz but wasn’t sure if it was too soon.

Sunshineclouds11 · 23/05/2024 22:09

Same boat ladies!

If she's draining the bottle each time then up it.

I asked my hv about this as I make 6oz up for DD she either drinks it all or leaves an oz or two.
If she's drank it all and still isn't satisfied hv said to give her another oz or two and she does seem more content.

msp2023 · 24/05/2024 15:31

Hi ladies!
Hope this isn't a TMI question.. ignore me if it is!

Just wondering how many of you are back in the saddle sex-wise? Do you have the desire / energy??

I'm starting to feel bad that I have zero desire! Coupled with my pain from stitches (4 months on... awaiting my gynae appt), it's the last thing on my wish list these days.
Considering we didn't have any sex in the last 4-5 months of my pregnancy.... it's been a loooooong time now 😩

CheeseAndCrackersx · 24/05/2024 15:46

@msp2023 we've done it twice and that's only to stop him pestering me when I'd much rather go to sleep 😂 no true desires here though tbh.

Meeting · 24/05/2024 16:30

@msp2023 we were back at it 2 weeks after birth but everyone is different!

Sunshineclouds11 · 24/05/2024 16:33

Took me 7 months after DS, and still haven't now.

I couldn't think of anything worse tbh 😂

I got pregnant this week a year ago and we haven't dtd since 🙈

LavenderSweetPea · 24/05/2024 22:07

I only have once. Honestly I feel a bit sad because I don't know if it's the hormones from breast feeding but I really just don't have any desire to, but I kind of wish I did. I miss that connection.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 25/05/2024 07:40

@msp2023 I wonder if it might be the recovery? I had a c section this time and haven't had a straightforward recovery so haven't had sex yet. However I was like @Meeting with my last pregnancy and straight back to it. EBF both times.

This time around my body hasn't gone back to shape and I'm carrying a lot more weight so I also don't feel attractive or in the mood, which I think contributes a bit to the relief I feel at not having to have sex

msp2023 · 25/05/2024 21:22

@Meeting I'm so impressed! 🤣
Nice to hear everyone else's position on the matter and know I'm not alone💗

CheeseAndCrackersx · 27/05/2024 09:11

2nd night of 2 hourly waking from 1am then hourly from 5 🙈
If this is the 4 month sleep regression beginning I hope it doesn't last long, I'm shattered already.

Knew I shouldn't have got too used to only the 2am & 6am niggles for a feed 🙃

CharXo · 28/05/2024 07:11

my little man has chicken pox 😔 he’s caught it from his brother so it was inevitable really. Fortunately he doesn’t have too many but he’s now cutting his first tooth too so it’s all going on over here!

I just wondered if any fellow c section mums are still having night sweats? Mine are so bad still and it’ll be 16 weeks on Thursday! I’m waking up absolutely soaked & it makes me feel so disgusting 😔

CheeseAndCrackersx · 28/05/2024 08:57

Has anyone started taking their little one swimming yet?

Little man is now 15 weeks and I'd like to start but I'm just wondering things like how long do you keep them in the water for?

LavenderSweetPea · 28/05/2024 13:38

@CheeseAndCrackersx we've been swimming for a few weeks now. We go to a pool that's really warm (I'd not want to do lengths in it!) and we stay in for 30 minutes. Baby loves it, I wasn't sure if he would but he's ever so zen in the water, I think it reminds him of his days in the womb 😂

msp2023 · 28/05/2024 16:59

@CheeseAndCrackersx we started at 14 weeks which I think was a really good age! Our sessions are 30 mins too in a warm pool, all of the babies seem to love it and be so happy in the water :)
Another perk is the lovely long nap/night sleeps we get on swimming days 😂

DmcinT · 29/05/2024 09:47

@CheeseAndCrackersx we started water babies a few weeks ago too, around 11 weeks, LO absolutely loves it. Instructor said the sooner u get them in the water the better, they have memory of the sensation of liquid. He dunks them under the water and swims them along and she comes up giggling. The class is 20mins, that’s the max recommended in a warm pool at this age. She sleeps pretty much all day then after it😅

Sunshineclouds11 · 30/05/2024 16:12

What are people using for teething?

DD currently having a hard time and nothing seems to be taking the edge off

anony1111 · 30/05/2024 23:17

@CharXo I didn't have a C section but night sweats are still in full swing for me! Like you I wake up and I'm soaked, it's awful isn't it?! I'm still sweating loads in the day too and really warm all the time, do you just have them at night?
I mentioned it at my 6 week check and the doctor said it should settle after around 3 months but there is no sign of it stopping for me 😩

CheeseAndCrackersx · 31/05/2024 21:39

Random question but have you or will you buy a cot or a cot bed?
Just preparing myself for when baby is too big for his next 2 me ( already get sad at the thought 🥺)
Are cot beds bigger or is there no difference in size?

Little man will be in our room in his cot unless a miraculous move to a 2 bed place happens
