Has anybody’s little cherub gone back to eating every 2 hours during the day?? He’s 11 weeks old so I’m guessing it’s the 3 month growth spurt, but it’s like having a newborn again… he seems to go a bit longer in the afternoon but needs 3 bottles between waking up at 6am and 12pm!! 🙈

I think that’s normal no? He can feed hourly sometimes!!

What brand of nappies do you all prefer, and what size are you using? Little one is in size 2 pampers but the last few nights we’ve had leaks. We used Aldi ones briefly when she was first born but they leaked quite often. I thought Lidl ones were good but I didn’t like the feel of them so we’ve stuck with pampers but they work out pricey!

Size 2 pampers, we only have leaks when he does explosive huge poos, which are very runny because of breastmilk so go up the back sometimes.

anony1111 · 28/04/2024 15:35

Did anyone else's LO go off their milk a bit a couple of days after their 8 week injections?
Leo is only drinking half his bottle at most feeds for the past 2 days but seems ok in himself?

undercoverhero74 · 28/04/2024 20:09

@anony1111 my little one is the same. She had her jabs on Friday and has been "snacking" ever since. My poor boobs don't know if they are coming or going 😂😂
She has also been quite sleepy but I'm pretty sure all these things are normal.

LavenderSweetPea · 28/04/2024 20:15

@anony1111 it'll be the rota virus vaccine. It upsets their stomach, can affect appetite for a few days to a week. Also can cause super stinky poos

anony1111 · 28/04/2024 21:16

@undercoverhero74 yes my LO had his Friday and been snacking as you say, oh gosh I bet! We formula feed and I feel like all I'm doing is sterilising and making bottles 😂

@LavenderSweetPea thank you, hopefully he will be back to his greedy little self soon!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 28/04/2024 21:48

Does anyone else find now their little one is more dribbly they cough more?

undercoverhero74 · 29/04/2024 10:39

Has anyone claimed child benefit for their babies yet? I submitted a claim weeks ago and it still hasn't been processed? Just wondering if this is standard or if I need to
Chase them up??

Sunshineclouds11 · 29/04/2024 11:00

@CheeseAndCrackersx yes and making bubbles.

@undercoverhero74 Yeah but I already had a claim so added her on but I got a letter pretty much the next week and payments were updated straight away.
I can't remember how long it took first time, I would chase just for peace of mind.

undercoverhero74 · 29/04/2024 11:42

@Sunshineclouds11 yea that's what I have done, I just added baby to my existing claim but have heard nothing since. When I look online it says it's been received and that I can expect it to be processed by July!
I was just wondering if this was standard or if I'm being fobbed off 😂😂

Ah sorry thought it was first!
July is a long time!

Think of the back pay 😅💸

CheeseAndCrackersx · 29/04/2024 14:05

Is anyone else really nervous with these measles outbreaks? I wish our babies could have the jab sooner than 1

anony1111 · 29/04/2024 15:23

@undercoverhero74 did you submit the claim the day you registered your LO? I did that so I didn't forget to do it and it held the claim up 🙈 but rang them and they soon sorted it. I would defo ring up and chase it to give them a push to process

redxlondon · 29/04/2024 21:39

How is everyone’s LO’s neck control? My son is 12 weeks tomorrow and I’m worried how much I still have to support his head. He can hold it up really well but it can then just flop violently if I don’t hold / hover ready.

Ebonythoughts · 30/04/2024 00:44

Has anyone experienced this before? My little girl is 10 weeks and the last few nights she’s been crying in her sleep. Most of the time she settles herself and goes back to sleep but there are times when she cries and wakes up fully. I’m not sure why she’s suddenly more restless at night. The room temperature is fine and it starts after a nappy change and feed so I know it’s not hunger or needing a change.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 30/04/2024 07:59

I've put it down to tummy discomfort @Ebonythoughts. Especially as he was squirming and bringing his legs up like pooing(but wasn't).

Ebonythoughts · 30/04/2024 09:09

@CheeseAndCrackersx i don’t see any discomfort like that in her. Looks more like she has a nightmare because it’s so sudden and then she drifts back to sleep.

My son is similar and he will only do tummy time on my chest. I actually asked the HV and she just said all babies develop differently and she wasn’t worried. Have you got a sling? I think his head control has got loads better since I’ve started using one, even just walking round the house/garden with him in it because he wants to look round and up at me.

KayakingBex · 30/04/2024 22:53

@RachLeeds @undercoverhero74 same LO is 11 weeks and snacking like crazy this week although he had his first set of jags last week so maybe that had an effect?

@redxlondon head control for my LO (11 weeks) seems ok but still a bit bobble- headed. I have no idea if it’s good or bad really as I’m a FTM and not seen the HV for over a month. Having trouble doing tummy time to be honest.

@RachLeeds my boy is the same with tummy time - gets very upset when we try to do it, HV not been worried but the lady who runs the baby yoga class I’ve been going to has just suggested I take him to a baby osteopath as she thinks he might have some tension in his body causing some soreness in certain positions. She suggested it after seeing how he reacted to tummy time exercises in the class. I figure it can’t hurt so we have an appointment in a couple of weeks.

KayakingBex · 30/04/2024 22:55

@Ebonythoughts - yes my little one does this. I’ve read it can happen when they are switching between active and deep sleep?

Does anyone else find now their little one is more dribbly they cough more?

Definitely! Especially if on his back and excited, sometimes he forgets to swallow all the saliva so chokes/coughs on it. He does have reflux but on omeprazole so well controlled now thankfully.

Ihatewinding · 30/04/2024 23:20

@redxlondon @KayakingBex have you tried something like this?
Baby Touch: Tummy Time https://amzn.eu/d/gdeS5kJ

We got it ages ago for my first and I started using it a couple of days ago with my current 11 week old and he has suddenly started propping himself up really well and even started rolling front to back! Seems me waving various sensory toys in front of his face wasn't quite cutting it incentive wise 😅will happily do tummy time now and it's lovely to see him staring at the designs and so engaged 😚

I’ve got some fold out books, I’ll try those in front of him. Haha same I was using my face!
I did find getting my head to ground same level as him really worked yesterday. Think he likes the eye contact.

Yeah have a sling but only use for short journeys. Spoke to a feeding specialist yesterday and randomly we talked about how slings count as tummy time because of core workout. I’ll definitely do some longer walks.

Yeah definitely try the sling more - in countries where baby wearing is standard, there is no such thing as “tummy time”.

@KayakingBex that’s interesting about the osteopath! I have thought about taking Charlie to one for the same reasons. Maybe I should book an appointment too 🤔
