@Sunshineclouds11 I make sure to give it a good swirl once heated. My boy isn't a fan of hot milk so just put it in so it's not freezing cold, normally takes about 30-35 seconds

Sunshineclouds11 · 25/04/2024 21:54

Thank you both x

Thewildthingsarewithme · 26/04/2024 11:05

Mamas who are exclusively breastfeeding, have you/will you introduce a bottle of expressed milk, if so at what stage? I have a wedding in a few weeks where I am maid of honour so will be away from LO for a number of hours and am getting anxious about him rejecting a bottle

CheeseAndCrackersx · 26/04/2024 12:48

Does anyone give their little one a probiotic or did with past children. I dunno whether to try 1 with little man cos he's just in havoc with his wind and is crying half asleep in discomfort in the night

Thewildthingsarewithme · 26/04/2024 13:03

@CheeseAndCrackersx i do, I’ve been giving colief multibiotic drops since birth as my first had colic, reflux and allergies and I was hoping to mitigate the risk with my second, so far he’s been so content, easy to wind and v happy baby but could just be coincidence!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 26/04/2024 13:05

How many drops do you give? @Thewildthingsarewithme and does the bottle last long xx

Thewildthingsarewithme · 26/04/2024 13:05

Six drops once a day and it lasts about a month 😊

CheeseAndCrackersx · 26/04/2024 13:09

Brilliant thank you @Thewildthingsarewithme defo gonna get some then x x

I'm sick of people telling me that my son is cold. He hates being cold, it makes him cry, if he was cold I'd know. I'm not going to make him wear a hat and socks just to please other people. I decided before he was born that I wasn't going to faff around with baby socks, on very cold days he can wear tights and on warm days he can have bare feet.

MIL today said she's going to buy him socks and I said they're not needed, watch her buy them anyway.

Last Sunday SIL spent the entire day talking about how my son looked cold, I'm not exaggerating, I'm going to get my partner to talk to his family because I'm on the edge.

This sounds like my FIL… he’s been to visit twice and both times actually made a point of feeling Charlie multiple times saying is he cold… I wouldn’t mind but I have the heating on day and night and the growegg in my living room, which clearly shows the house is warm! 🙈

I have told my partner to take the baby to his dad’s house in future if he wants to see him. I sympathise with you because it’s very annoying!!

Meeting · 26/04/2024 20:38

@Cheetocat I have the exact same thing except with them saying she's hungry instead of cold. MIL is the absolute worst, she saw baby a couple of days ago 15 minutes after she had her bottle and would literally not stop going on. Drives me insane.

Cheetocat · 26/04/2024 22:59

@RachLeeds Yeah! It's just frustrating and repetitive, it's like they have nothing else to say about the baby so they resort to saying they're cold!

@Meeting That's probably even worse than calling them cold, you'd obviously never let your baby go hungry, what's going on in their heads??

undercoverhero74 · 27/04/2024 03:24

@Thewildthingsarewithme I exclusively breastfeed and recently introduced a bottle at 5 weeks for similar reasons. Baby took to it straight away and has no problems switching between boob and bottle. We try and give her a bottle of expressed milk once every other day or so which she is happy with.
With my first I left it too late and he was a complete bottle refuser which almost broke me when I returned to work.
I think once breast feeding is established it's safe to introduce.

Thewildthingsarewithme · 27/04/2024 09:44

@undercoverhero74 thanks, that’s good to know, he’s ten weeks tomorrow so I’ll maybe try and give him one this weekend. Fingers crossed I’ve not left it too late, it never worked with my first either and I also found it really hard because no one else could get him to sleep until I stopped at two 💀

RachLeeds · 27/04/2024 11:59

Has anybody’s little cherub gone back to eating every 2 hours during the day?? He’s 11 weeks old so I’m guessing it’s the 3 month growth spurt, but it’s like having a newborn again… he seems to go a bit longer in the afternoon but needs 3 bottles between waking up at 6am and 12pm!! 🙈

CheeseAndCrackersx · 27/04/2024 12:37

So that's all of little man's 0-3 sleep suits and bodysuits packed away 🥺
I can still get 0-3 pjs and outfits on him for now but he's too long for the rest.

Not our little babbas for long are they 🙈

HopeAndStrength · 27/04/2024 13:02

@RachLeeds yes my little boy is putting away three bottles in the morning... he's growing so fast, I think he's almost too long for the 3-6 month sleepsuits and vests already!

Newmumma0 · 27/04/2024 15:24

What brand of nappies do you all prefer, and what size are you using? Little one is in size 2 pampers but the last few nights we’ve had leaks. We used Aldi ones briefly when she was first born but they leaked quite often. I thought Lidl ones were good but I didn’t like the feel of them so we’ve stuck with pampers but they work out pricey!

Sunshineclouds11 · 27/04/2024 16:10

@Newmumma0 I go between Asda little angels and Morries nut meg.
No leaks from either

Cheetocat · 27/04/2024 18:13

I use Rascal & Friends, love them!

I tried to get these but my local Tesco only sell size 4+ 😒

Aww that's shame, my little boy is still in size 1 and the comfort of them is next level, they have a lovely stretchy waistband and they're so soft. He peed out of pampers a few times which is what we used previously but never leaked out of R+F.

RachLeeds · 27/04/2024 20:47

I find the nappies leak when baby is between sizes so I alternate between ALDI and M&S if that makes sense, as the M&S nappies are a bit bigger. I liked pampers but my baby was allergic to them… but at least I’m saving money now! 🤣

I did wonder if I maybe need to move her into size 3 soon as I noticed that these start at 6kg in pampers, she’s not been weighed recently but she could be around that weight now.

Hotpolarbear · 28/04/2024 01:28

We've tried a couple of different nappies to see which works best for us.
Decided to stick with lidl ones for now. We used Aldi when he was first born which I liked. Not overally keen on sainsburys or asda own brands. Also tried boots bamboo ones as partners grandma keeps buying them for us and really dislike the feel and how stiff they are.
Pampers I didn't like when dd13 was small so trying to avoid for now. Definitely tried a few others but minds gone blank.
