I noticed the other thread was full and have started a new one.

Lovely to hear of everyone’s 20 week scans. Thanks to those of you who gave me a list of baby essentials, very helpful!

Hope you’re all doing well!

@Morningcoffeeaddict
Congratulations!!!! Your guess was correct! Hope your son is excited to meet his brother!

I have a posterior placenta and am a FTM. I've been feeling tingly feelings since week 14, and since week 16 proper kicks. DH can feel them too and I can see my tummy move.
I have been having a lot more acidity and unable to eat again, but my "period cramps" have reduced. I had them until week 13 or 14.

Surprisedbuthappy · 03/03/2024 17:01

I'm 21 weeks tomorrow and only recently think I've felt movements. I've got an anterior placenta though, so I guess it's normal not to feel much yet.
Anyone else starting to feel a lot more uncomfortable? I'm suddenly feeling so full after eating - this has just started this weekend, but it's so uncomfortable! And a bit gassy too. It's so unpleasant. I just said to my husband I think I'm going to be a bit unbearable by summer - sorry in advance! 🙈

Morningcoffeeaddict · 03/03/2024 17:29

@ceruleansky - he is, we had a private scan to find out so it meant we could bring him along which was lovely. He was really interested in everything he was seeing and loved it when they played the heartbeat for him. He stayed at his grandparents after and was practicing looking after a baby doll they had there which was very cute.

@Surprisedbuthappy yes I’m really full all the time. Got chippy tea last night and was too full to eat it about halfway through. Very disappointing!

wannabe123 · 03/03/2024 17:45

Pregnancy is just so glamorous. Yesterday I was constipated (sorry tmi) and today I have the opposite problem. Only managed to eat an apple and a bag of crisps. Can't decide yet whether I'll be able to go to work tomorrow.

AimeeLou84 · 03/03/2024 18:15

@wannabe123 omg this is my issue. One day I’m constipated next day I’ve got awful diarrhoea! Im having to work from home when it happens 🤦🏻‍♀️

wannabe123 · 03/03/2024 18:36

@AimeeLou84 oh no! I can't work from home being a teacher but I'm going to have tomorrow off and Tuesday is my day off anyway so hopefully it's a one off and I'll be fine by Wednesday. Hope you're not feeling too rough ❤️

Sophie3003 · 03/03/2024 18:38

I feel really green today. I could not fancy our dinner option so we had to get a McDonald's! I hope I don't end up with worse nausea at this stage!

Jess725 · 03/03/2024 21:00

@wannabe123@AimeeLou84
I am exactly the same too. It’s been like this since the beginning for me 🙈
I hope you feel better and do take time
off work if you need 😊

Jess725 · 03/03/2024 21:01

@wannabe123
congrats on baby boy!!!!!

AnonymousXXIX · 03/03/2024 21:23

We did our usual 2 hour weekend walk yesterday... And was shattered today! Ankles hurt, back hurts, omg...

Edited

My boss is getting pissed off with me but I can’t do anything about it. He’s a man so I don’t expect him to understand. Feel sick and stomach ache tonight hope it’s not incoming 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Nocoffeenotalkie · 03/03/2024 21:59

@AimeeLou84 I hope you feel better soon. @wannabe123 congrats!
@Morningcoffeeaddict the scan sounds lovely.

I am having a new and odd symptom. My nose is super dry and if I blow it, there's a blood but just small amounts. I'm guessing this is a pregnancy thing?

Morningcoffeeaddict · 03/03/2024 22:02

@Nocoffeenotalkie - yes it’s a pregnancy symptom. I had it with DS and now again with this one. My skin and lips generally are really dry but everytime I sneeze or blow my nose there’s blood. Apparently it’s something to do with the extra blood flow when you’re pregnant and your nose is more sensitive? Pregnancy is so glamorous isn’t it!?

Nocoffeenotalkie · 03/03/2024 22:16

@Morningcoffeeaddict thank you. I thought it would be. I've also been getting though lots of lip balm too!

ceruleansky · 04/03/2024 08:14

@AnonymousXXIX
You can walk for 2 hours?? I walk to the fridge and eat something and I'm exhausted 🤣
I always need to rest after I eat even though I try to walk at least for 5 minutes. I think digesting food is the new cardio.
In any case, try to elevate your feet and take it easy, maybe break up your 2 hour walk into 30 mins per day.. this is what I do and I don't feel as bad or overwhelmed.

@Morningcoffeeaddict
Aww that's so sweet. He seems so adorable. How do you feel about having a second boy?

ceruleansky · 04/03/2024 08:19

I've started iron and calcium supplements and got a little worried when I started having black poo (sorry, tmi) but this takes my mind off worrying too much about eating food rich in iron. I'll continue to do it but I was worried that I'll become anaemic by not eating enough greens, beets, etc.

Surprisedbuthappy · 04/03/2024 09:02

I've just had my scan. All is well. Measured at 21+3, though I thought I was 21 weeks exactly today. Confirmed it's a boy! 🩵

@AnonymousXXIX Wow! I walked for 1 hour yesterday and I was OK, but tired. I could never manage 2 hours!

Hoping4amiracle · 04/03/2024 09:30

Hello,

Wondering if I can join the thread ladies? Long time reader but been too anxious to join the thread as still struggling to process that I’m actually pregnant after multiple losses.

I have my 20 week scan on Thursday and my nerves are shot. I was anxious anyway and then 12 week scan threw up horrendous blood results and we had to wait through further chromosomal testing, it’s also a low Papp-a baby (like really low) and I’ve just never been able to relax since. I’m just constantly on edge waiting for bad news.

We had a scan at 18 weeks privately and the sonographer said everything looked good apart from mild notching but I can’t relax xx

wannabe123 · 04/03/2024 09:46

@Hoping4amiracle scanxiety is the worst and even harder after losses. I really hope it all goes well for you. Easier said than done, but try to keep busy 🙂
I remember with my first son, I had a cyst found at 9 weeks and then it felt like there was something brought up at every appointment (although thankfully never serious) and it's mentally exhausting. Keeping busy definitely helped in between appointments but the week of is always tricky. Be kind to yourself x

Surprisedbuthappy · 04/03/2024 09:54

@Hoping4amiracle Welcome! That sounds hard on you. I've had a pretty smooth ride but still get scanxiety in the run-up to the next one, so it's completely understandable you're still feeling concerned. I hope all continues to go well from now on. Wishing you luck for Thursday!

hopingfor23 · 04/03/2024 10:06

Also suffering scanxiety today 😩 Have our 20w scan at 1.30pm today and although I have an anterior placenta so minimal movements felt is normal I did start to feel baby each evening but haven't for the past 2. Also felt a bit rubbish in myself so my brain is working overtime and causing me to worry.

Hopefully be able to pop back on later and tell you all how lovely it was seeing him swish around 🙏🙏🙏🙏 sending hugs to anyone worrying xxx

Hoping4amiracle · 04/03/2024 10:51

Thank you !

@hopingfor23 good luck, I hope your scan goes well. Please keep me updated.

As for me as soon as I finished writing this post I felt a bit of fluid leakage, checked and it was clear, thin, watery with no foul smell and I’m panicked it’s amniotic fluid. Midwife said to put a pad in and check for the next 1-2 hours and call back if it’s saturated. Which it isn’t - in fact it’s dry. It is definitely not urine that leaked - can amniotic fluid leak a little then stop? X

justanotherlaura · 04/03/2024 11:14

Hi @Hoping4amiracle welcome to the thread!

I've had more discharge and I've started leaking urine a little bit. I'd be inclined to think it would be that. I've started having to wear liners again, had to in my last pregnancy too. Being pregnant is so glamorous :)

Hoping4amiracle · 04/03/2024 11:27

Thanks @justanotherlaura - I’m hoping that too.

It’s just really annoying as there is a hospital literally across the road with a maternity day unit and I know they could so easily put my mind at rest. However because I’m under consultant lead care I’ve got to go to the hospital an hour away - it actually puts me off raising the things that make me anxious - I miss just being able to call the community midwife with questions x

AimeeLou84 · 04/03/2024 11:29

@Hoping4amiracle This was happening to me and then just stopped. Im also consultant led and finding it a nightmare to get some reassurance. My bladder isn’t great though so having to wear liners and I’m only coming up to 21 weeks!
