Hey 👋
Hope it's okay to join in.

I am 4/5 weeks pregnant and super anxious! We lost our daughter last October, she has Edwards syndrome and it was such a horrific time! Did not expect after just 4 months we would be here again. My daughter would have been due this month so we think we feel like we have been sent a wee gift.b

I'm not good at tracking my period but I would say I'm due around the 10th as I'll also be csection.

I have 2 teenagers already and desperate to tell them but after the recent heart break I need to bite my tongue!

How are yous all feeling?
I feel soooo pregnant! Like every sign, I have it!

Siobhan x

mrssunshinexxx · 24/02/2024 07:30

So sorry @Willow2023 can only imagine how traumatic that was and is to live with x

YellowHedgehog · 24/02/2024 09:46

Hello all, decided to join in. I'm a long time lurker on MN but not posted before. Found out a couple of weeks ago that I'm pregnant and very surprised that it happened so quickly as I'm 40! First time pregnancy and should be 7 weeks tomorrow. My problem is that I have absolutely no symptoms at all! Had a little bit of pain last week in the middle of my stomach for 20 minutes or so but nothing else. Really starting to worry that there is nothing there and half convinced myself that there never was anything.
I had two positive pregnancy tests with very strong lines about a week after a missed period and my periods are always very regular so I know when my period should have started.
I'm all very new to this but absolutely desparate for a baby.Smile
My first midwife appointment is next week, I'm hoping for at least one symptom by then otherwise I will feel like a fraud going there!

Willow2023 · 24/02/2024 10:04

@YellowHedgehog I have 2 teens and each pregnancy was so different. With my first I had all the sign and major sickness but with my second I had literally nothing at all! Not even a twinge! I know it's easy to say but try not worry. Oh and congrats! Xx

tryingforbaba · 24/02/2024 10:50

Is anyone experience sensory sensitivity? Particularly noises for me.

I'm finding it hard to cope with things such as loud radio.

Feeling very introverted and like I just want to be on my own, in silence.

(8.5 weeks today)

ChyLL · 24/02/2024 11:10

Congratulations @YellowHedgehog ! I am 5 weeks with my second and all I have is some mild cramping and I feel a little nausea at times. With my first I felt quite sick for 17 weeks but it was nothing too intense.

thats good you have your appointment soon. Is there an option of an early private scan to settle your mind? X

CM123baby · 24/02/2024 11:11

Hi everyone hope it’s ok I join 😬

I did post already but didn’t get many replies so just wondering if anybody is going through the same as me.

I was due my period on the 4th feb took a test and it was very faint positive, but now they are very positive. I had an early scan a few days ago because of multiple mmc’s and an ectopic pregnancy, I thought I would of been 6+4 but they are saying from what they seen it was more 4 weeks, they seen just a sac, so taken my bloods and they came back 3000 then 2 days after the second lot came back 5900 so I’m to have a scan in 2 weeks and hopefully things are progressing. I’m supposed to be prescribed progesterone but they won’t give it me until they know the pregnancy is viable but surely my hcg levels wouldn’t go up if it wasn’t viable? If I have to wait another 2 weeks to get the progesterone I’m worried it’s going to be too late.

aussiegirl89 · 24/02/2024 11:14

@tryingforbaba yes I feel like this too, it's like I'm cocooning. I get anxious in social situations and don't want to be around people.

Loud noises are bothering me too - like when a bus drives by me, it makes me on edge 🤣

Must be something instinctual about wanting to stay safe

aussiegirl89 · 24/02/2024 11:15

@CM123baby so annoying they won't just give you progesterone.

I believe viable is after they see a heartbeat - can you get another scan booked in?

CM123baby · 24/02/2024 11:20

@aussiegirl89 it is so annoying because they gave it my friend before they seen a heartbeat and she’s now 16 weeks, they did promise it me if my bloods went up and now they are saying after my second scan so I think it depends what nurse you get. I do have a scan booked for the 5th so have everything crossed xx

Oct24 · 24/02/2024 11:34

@CM123baby Sorry you're going through this. Did the dr given you any reason why they won't give it to you now? Can you get a second opinion? IVF patients start progesterone before transfer so it just makes no sense to hold off until they say the pregnancy is viable. Additional progesterone can't hurt. I was given progesterone after an IUI on the off chance the IUI worked. (LOL. It didn't!) It's bizarre to say they'll only give it to you in two weeks.

Again, I'm sorry you're facing such uncertainty. Beta hell and waiting for scans is a nightmare like no other. Sending you a massive hug and hope things turn around for you. Xx

CM123baby · 24/02/2024 11:48

@Oct24 thankyou so much ❤️ they didn’t give a reason just said I have to wait till they know it’s viable. I’m going to call the recurrent miscarriage on Monday and see if they will give it to me, but not sure they will as I’m still on the waiting list after 2 years 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ellenn · 24/02/2024 12:11

@CM123baby im so sorry you are going through nightmare waiting period. Definitely see if you can get a second opinion. My consultant for recurrent miscarriages told me progesterone can help support a pregnancy but won’t stop a miscarriage happening. If you can start some it certainly isn’t going to do any harm and might make you feel better. Could you have ovulated slightly later than you thought in your cycle? Hence the dates not quite adding up?

CM123baby · 24/02/2024 12:19

@Ellenn Heyyy I definitely didn’t ovulate late because I kind of know when I did and didn’t have intercourse after that because I’m a weirdo and think maybe that could be why I’m miscarrying, stupid I know but the anxiety you get is terrible! I’m not sure if it’s possible to implant late ? I’m not sure but I’m hoping when I go to my scan I’ll be measuring normal because I’ve read in the early weeks it’s possible to get things mixed up because everything is so small, so fingers crossed! But yes I will definitely get a second opinion. Xx

CDD · 24/02/2024 12:31

Congratulations on you BFP’S to all the new joiners ❤

@tryingforbaba I have not got any issues with noise atm… but I do have a very itchy scalp I have not changed any products so not sure why.. what hair products do you all use? (I cannot use head and shoulders even before pregnancy)

@CM123baby Sorry to hear this and fingers crossed your next scan goes well and clears the anxiety. I have previously miscarried but the doctors and midwife have said they wont give me an early scan or bloods. I am thinking to get a private early scan.

@Willow2023 I have a teenager also how are you feeling about the age gap?
Yeah I also agree this pregnancy has given me different symptoms I am thinking it’s also down to age. I have been told I need to start taking aspirin at 12 weeks due to my DD’s birth weight but I need to look into this properly.

Has anyone else took aspirin during pregnancy? I have been told I need to take 150mg a evening from 12 weeks?
Also has anyone had a Vbac?
TIA

Willow2023 · 24/02/2024 14:24

@CDD I was given aspirin during my last pregnancy at 12 weeks. I honestly can't remember exactly why but I took it anyway and hope to be given it this time as I'll take anything that will get me through this pregnancy minus issues 🙏

I'm kind of excited about the age gap as the teens will be amazingly helpful and it'll be good for them. Didn't think I would start all over again tbh but so glad I am 💖xx

Bee49 · 24/02/2024 15:15

@CDD also interested in a VBAC if anyone has experiences. My son was born under general due to placenta abruption so I’m not sure if they’d even let me try for a VBAC. Would like to if they’d let me though!

OceanSoul96 · 24/02/2024 15:32

Hello! I was lurking on the other thread and really appreciated seeing all of your friendliness and helpful comments, especially to first time pregnant people (like me!)

I think I'm due Oct 6th. Nausea hit intensely end of week 5, and today (end of week 7) it disappeared immediately and now I'm having a little panic. Has this happen to anyone else?

I have only just recently diagnosed endometriosis and I can't afford to get a private scan.

Last question (sorry! First time being brave enough to post)
Booking appt 5th March and in the NHS app it says I need to refer myself for a gynaecology appt but when I click there are none available.

Best wishes to everyone going through it right now ❤️

Nic2908 · 24/02/2024 16:42

@CDD i lost a baby in second trimester last year, so then plan is that once I have a pregnancy confirmed in the right place I will be started on aspirin. My scan is on Tuesday and I’m starting to feel so anxious. I have lots of symptoms which is great, but it doesn’t help. I need a direct window to my womb that I can keep liftin every few hours 😂😂😂. Maybe we can put Elon musk on that one.

YellowHedgehog · 24/02/2024 17:09

Thank you @CChyLL ! I have been thinking about a private scan but will have my midwife appointment first and then will decide what to do.

CluelessInLondon · 24/02/2024 17:19

Welcome and congratulations to the new members of the October club! @MrsA2015 @Sara1988 @Willow2023 @YellowHedgehog @OceanSoul96 @CM123baby Hopefully I got everyone!

@CM123baby Hopefully it's a good sign that your HCG is increasing, it's meant to double around every 48 hours so sounds like that's on track for you. Implantation time can vary so even if you know when you ovulated it could just have taken a while to implant and that's put you a bit behind where you thought you would be. When is your next scan? Hopefully it will show some progression.

I told my closest friend last night about my pregnancy - she actually cried, I think she was more emotional about it than I've been at any point. 😂 Feel like I'm at a crucial point now - I'm 8+3 today, last time I started bleeding at 8+5, and my MC was confirmed at 9+1, so the coming week is going to be a pretty anxious time. If I get through that I might start to really believe things will be okay.

CM123baby · 24/02/2024 17:26

@CluelessInLondon congrats on ur pregnancy!! The anxiety after mc’s is really awful so fingers crossed for you! My next scan is 5th March so I’m hoping everything is going ok, I’m feeling really tired all the time and my boobs in the morning get really painful so hopefully these are good signs xxx

CluelessInLondon · 24/02/2024 17:33

@CM123baby I'm the other way around, my boobs are worst at night - when I lie on my side to go to sleep they get squished and it's really uncomfortable! 😂 The waiting for scans is awful, I know we shouldn't have them too frequently but a couple of weeks seems like forever - I had my first just over a week ago and my next one is next Friday, and I basically can't concentrate on anything in the days leading up to it. Already know I'm going to be so unproductive at work next week!

CM123baby · 24/02/2024 17:53

@CluelessInLondon Aww yh it’s awful the days seem to drag but u have work so hopefully will keep ur mind busy, I’m cabin crew so I’m stuck in limbo really, were not allowed to fly while pregnant but also I don’t want to tell them right now incase things aren’t progressing. X

CluelessInLondon · 24/02/2024 18:01

@CM123baby Do they not let you fly at all once they know you're pregnant, or do they let you carry on until a certain point?
