Seems we got to the end of a thread. Not sure if a new one has been set up.

I'm 11 weeks and my symptoms have completely stopped. For Mother's Day I had an enormous roast and just didn't feel like eating for the rest of the day, and I still didn't feel nauseas. Boobs are a bit big and sore but that's the only symptom.

Tonight I had brown spotting. It's making me worry. Scan isn't until 1 week tomorrow. Second pregnancy and I didn't get any spotting last time and I don't remember my symptoms suddenly disappearing like this.

Starting to get worried.

Oct24 · 13/03/2024 00:05

@mouldygrapes. My dr said no earlier than 10weeks. They need to make sure there is enough baby DNA kicking around in your blood. So just to be safe, we're doing it at 10+6.

OneSunnyFox · 13/03/2024 03:56

@lpylou keep holding on, spotting is really normal. I’m sure your scan will put your mind at ease and if you’ve had everything otherwise textbook I’m sure you are fine. Mathematically if you’ve made it this far the odds are in your favour.

All my symptoms eased off (I’m 10+6), and I was incredibly worried but feeling GREAT. Then for the last 10 hours I’ve been strapped to the toilet boil vommiting unable to keep water down with no end in sight. Think whatever is in there is giving me the finger/ hopefully reminding me it’s still there!

Just know that you aren’t alone with the disappearing symptoms! Xxx

IsLarryFromSomething · 13/03/2024 05:43

I'm with all of you exhausted ones. I'm worried today as I have an off-site presentation to attend and there is a small chance I'll fall asleep.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 13/03/2024 07:01

@lpylou maybe the placenta is taking over? I definitely turned a bit of a corner around 11 weeks in my first pregnancy although didn't feel completely okay.

Oct24 · 13/03/2024 07:04

I'm starting to turn the corner a bit too I think. Either that or I'm just having a really good day. Only heaved a few times this morning. But still completely exhausted. I had bloods done yesterday to check my iron and vitamin levels so will be interesting to see if I'm deficient in anything or if growing a baby really is just extremely exhausting work.

lpylou · 13/03/2024 07:21

Thanks @FlyOnTheWall89 @OneSunnyFox, you've made me feel better and no more spotting this morning. I do remember last time feeling better around 12 weeks and starting exercise again. Maybe I will do that today to celebrate.

mrssunshinexxx · 13/03/2024 07:23

I cannot physically wait to feel like me again. I need that second trimester glow up. I keep telling myself I don't want to do this again and obviously it's my choice but hubby so keen for a 4th I'm just currently like shush 😂

This is literally how i feel🤣
I feel like death constantly!!!

My partner says 'id like to have 3 but 2 will be fine.. like we're only on our first and i feel like shit.. lets see how pregnancy, labour and how this baby is first🤣

If baby sleeps through the night, feeds really well, is genuinly a happy baby i'll have 10.

But this pregnancy is only making want the one for now🤣

WickWood · 13/03/2024 08:14

I'm 11 weeks today. I've just been to the toilet and there was some blood on the tissue, not loads, a pinkish colour. I know it's normal but it's so hard not to panic, I haven't had any type of bleeding/spotting. My 12 week scan is in 8 days, I might get an earlier private one!

lpylou · 13/03/2024 08:16

@WickWood how are your symptoms? Sounds like we have similar experiences around 11 weeks and my scan is 1 week today. A long 7 days ahead. I tried to book a scan yesterday but in the end it didn't seem worth it, the local place only scans up until 10 weeks and the others were further afield. I might call hospital to see if they can fit me in sooner.

mrssunshinexxx · 13/03/2024 08:20

@LER2023 it's definitely hard to imagine it whilst pregnant but it's like labour once it's done yo forget how bad it is til you're there doing it again 🙈 I remember walking into labour ward last time and said 'what the fuck have I done' lollll
Currently prepping veggie lasagna for tea and constantly gagging so grim

@WickWood I've had a bit of bleeding this preg I've got a haematoma so it was a bit of a worry I'd text your midwife bet she'll send you for a scan x

WickWood · 13/03/2024 08:30

@lpylou I hope all goes well for you! I don't know about my symptoms, I feel really unwell with flu like symptoms. Yesterday my boobs were in absolute agony, I was sick and felt sick all day, so far today my boobs are sore, but nowhere like yesterday, and I feel vaguely sick but its hard to tell if that's just the illness.

@mrssunshinexxx Do you think? It was only a small amount, I took a photo but won't post here, its very light in colour. I'm still waiting for my midwife to call me back re my next appointment because she forgot to write it down, but I could contact the EPU. Just don't know if I'm worrying unnecessarily, I have no stomach pains or anything.

Bee49 · 13/03/2024 09:03

@LER2023 I remember thinking I’d never do it again during the first trimester with my son. He also didn’t start sleeping through the night until about a month ago at 22 months so I swore I was one and done.

Yet here we are. You really do forget! Definitely not having a third though 😂

mrssunshinexxx · 13/03/2024 09:06

It's really personal I have bleeding most days not so it's 'normal ' for me so I aren't bothered about a re scan as symptoms so strong x

JemRose · 13/03/2024 09:24

Can't believe I'm 10+4 today! This has been the slowest couple of months ever, I remember being 4+4 and thinking WHEN will I actually believe I'm pregnant? Not sure I do even now! I haven't had any scans yet and my NHS 12 week scan is in exactly 2 weeks today. It's so weird not knowing what's going on in there! But I've been nauseous as hell for weeks (just starting to subside) and I can feel a hard/soft bump now right in my lower belly so... surely it must be happening?! Anyone else have imposter syndrome/feel like maybe they're just making it all up (including the millions of positive tests 😂)?!?!

Hi Jem

I'm 9 weeks Friday and my first midwife appointment today!

Yes I get the not knowing worry, it's hard to know what's going on in there! Bring on the scan

I'm so glad you said this, it's exactly how I'm feeling - I'm 11 weeks today and I said to my husband last night "I don't feel like I'm 11 weeks pregnant". But then I've never been 11 weeks pregnant before so I don't really know how that's supposed to feel! I haven't had really bad symptoms - some nausea, sore boobs, tiredness - and they've been pretty consistent and haven't changed that much over the weeks, but because there are no big signs of pregnancy it makes me feel like a bit of a fraud! I'm sure it's partly anxiety about the possibility that something has gone wrong since my last scan, but it's just a really weird feeling, especially having known for weeks now when almost nobody else does. I don't know at what point you just "get used" to being pregnant and it starts to feel real...

aussiegirl89 · 13/03/2024 10:34

@mouldygrapes I had my NIPT today at 10+6

They also did a scan to check on the bub and it's all looking good!

We have opted to find out the gender with the NIPT results too. Can't believe we will know next week 🤞🏼🤞🏼 hoping it's all ok with the tests

aussiegirl89 · 13/03/2024 10:36

@mrssunshinexxx I am also waiting for my glow era in the second trimester - it can't come soon enough!

I am vomiting 4 times a day and it's so grim.

SELE97 · 13/03/2024 13:04

Just had my booking appointment with the midwife over the phone. She said all blood tests and screenings will be done at my 12 week scan. But she didn't mention anything about sickle cell and thalassemia which I thought had to be done before 10 weeks. Is this blood test offered to all pregnant women or just those known to be at risk?

Also told I flagged up as high risk for multiple things on the system which I already knew and was prepared for as I have a few serious health conditions. She said they will want to keep a close eye on me and I will be referred to a consultant after the 12 week scan.

Can't wait to get my 12 week scan letter through the post, how long did everyone's appointment letter take to come after the booking appointment?

Don’t know anything about the anaemia -sorry.
My appointment letters arrived the next day.

LuxeBiscuit · 13/03/2024 13:57

@SELE97 I also had my booking appointment today but it was face to face. Are you in England? It sounds like some trusts / counties do things differently.

The midwife took blood, a urine sample and my blood pressure. She had the 12 week scan letter already printed.

She also gave me a folder of my notes, leaflets and info.

SELE97 · 13/03/2024 14:09

@AppleTree16 oh that's pretty quick then.

@LuxeBiscuit no I'm in south wales, basically the midwife said that she had lots of annual leave coming up so she couldn't really fit me in so she squeezed me in on a phone call after her usual clinic. I was on the midwife books at the GP surgery since 4 weeks though so she must be very busy to not be able to see me in person.

She said everything else (bloods/tests) will be done at my 12 week scan. She sent a booking form off for the 12 week scan and said that the hospital will send me a letter with a date and that she'll see me next at 16 weeks. All my information and notes are on the Badger Notes app she said they don't use paper copies anymore.

It's crazy how different the process is for different areas.

CluelessInLondon · 13/03/2024 14:25

@SELE97 There's information here on screening for sickle cell and thalassaemia: https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/your-pregnancy-care/screening-for-sickle-cell-and-thalassaemia/. Sickle cell screening is only if you're identified as high risk, but the initial bloods should include a test for thalassaemia (mine did, I've just checked my test results online and there's a specific line saying no evidence of abnormal haemoglobin or thalassaemia). It says the test should ideally be done before 10 weeks, but it doesn't say it can't be done after that, so maybe they'll just do it with the bloods they take at your 12 week scan?
Re: booking of the scan, I got my 12 week scan letter a week or so after confirmation of my midwife booking appointment so I had the date before I saw the midwife for the first time. I've already got my 20 week scan booked!
