@Shootystealy yep this is normal, it's linked to the pregnancy sickness and the horrible sour or metallic tastes people often get in their mouth during pregnancy. I've had all this with all of mine. For example I love chocolate but just cannot stomach most of them at the moment!

I went out for a super rare childfree lunch with DH earlier which was nice but now I feel soooo sick 🤢 and got to get the bus to the hospital in a few mins for the repeat CO test appointment. Hope I don't vomit on the bus bleurgh.

Nic2908 · 12/03/2024 15:33

@October73 how exciting. Such lovely news.

@mouldygrapes mine is on Thursday and I will be 10+4.

@Shootystealy in my first pregnancy I couldn’t drink cups of tea. It broke my heart. But you know what that cup of tea after given birth was the best one yet!

im laid up in bed with what I think is the flu. I feel dreadful so off work today and tomorrow which I hate. Still got another 10 days for 12 week scan. It is draaaagggging. Especially as I have no somethings other then my nipples and boobs feeling like they are going to drop off. Why is it we wish that we had symptoms or that we didn’t have symptoms we can never win and just be content.

The nausea is back and kicking my arse today! I've been sick for the first time in well over a week. Any tips?

@WickWood the only thing that works for me is constantly eating! Even when it's the thing I least want to do or I feel really sick. If i don't eat at least every couple of hours I start retching and I remember why. Hope you feel better soon. 😊

@Shootystealy this is me with pesto pasta!?! Ugh even writing this down makes me gag! Ha ha.

mrssunshinexxx · 12/03/2024 16:13

@WickWood also haven't had a coffee in a good few weeks it's so weird !

Bee49 · 12/03/2024 16:25

Honestly almost everything sounds awful at the moment. Zero food sounds good. I can’t wait to feel less sick and enjoy food again.

gigigig · 12/03/2024 16:27

Is anyone else really struggling with exhaustion? I feel like I don't have the energy for anything. I'm really struggling to work atm 😢.

I feel so down too

LER2023 · 12/03/2024 16:28

I was so used to having 4 - 5 cups of coffee a day and then started gagging at the smell of it. Now i cant even think to open the coffee canister and it upsets me because it was the only thing that woke me up in a morning now i feel constantly exhausted.

rachisamumtobe · 12/03/2024 16:30

Hi everyone

Been watching this thread for a while, I'm pregnant with first baby due in October around the 18th (very near my birthday)

Feeling incredibly nauseous, wearing anti sickness bands, eating ginger biscuits and drinking ginger tea. Have heightened sense of smell (don't like cooking smell!) sore boobs classic symptoms really!

First midwife appointment tomorrow, I'm 9 weeks on Friday so nice to see others in the same boat.

Just feel so tired of the nausea and heaving, hopefully things improve after 12 weeks!

Hey

Yeah me, I get very tired at work and my job requires a lot of concentration and processing.

I am anxious person and feels like my scan is far off.

Sorry you feel down, sending hugs xxx

tryforbabynumber2 · 12/03/2024 16:35

@gigigig Yes can 100% relate. I've had a very busy day in work today with meetings etc and I just have zero energy 😩 Also have constant low level nausea at the moment which isn't helping xxx

Eiremogra · 12/03/2024 16:46

Have any of you been recommended anything that would help with the zero energy? Are we allowed to take Floradix?x

gigigig · 12/03/2024 16:46

Thank you for replying! I'm sorry you guys are suffering too! I just really hate this feeling of almost feeling ill or hungover all the time it's horrid!

I'm seven weeks so really hoping for some improvement soon

LiviaX · 12/03/2024 16:56

Hi, I’m a bit late to the party and due 31.10 so only just sneak in. We were trying for over 2.5 years and were about to start IVF so it came as a real shock and I think I’m still a bit in disbelief.

It’s been interesting reading your posts about birth experiences as I must admit I’m absolutely terrified. I came into this thinking I would opt for an ELCS because it’s more controlled but now starting to feel the pressure to try for a physiological birth as it’s better for mum and baby (so long as it goes well…) but am not good with gambling on something going well.

journeytomum · 12/03/2024 17:17

I am also exhausted and feel dreadful by mid afternoon. Having to keep eating little and often, the twins are zapping me! Time is also dragging. We have a scan next Thursday so looking forward to seeing the little ones then and hoping both are still ok.

For anyone worried about tearing, I had an epidural for my first and tore and an episiotomy and didn't feel a thing. You are so caught up with everything else it's the least of your worries. And I healed up fine. Rest is key afterwards if you can!

mrssunshinexxx · 12/03/2024 17:28

I cannot stop watching OBEM gunna re watch emma Willis delivering babies after 😂

CluelessInLondon · 12/03/2024 17:42

@gigigig I've had some really exhausted days in the last couple of weeks! About two weeks ago when I was between 8 and 9 weeks I spent about two days barely moving from the sofa because I was so tired, and then yesterday I had to take the day off work because I woke up during the night feeling sick - then typically couldn't get back to sleep even though I was really tired! I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and had been hoping the tiredness would have improved by now but I'm still feeling completely knocked out at times. I know what you mean about feeling hungover, it is like having a hangover but without the fun of getting drunk first. 😂

@rachisamumtobe @LiviaX Welcome and congratulations to both of you! 😊

This was me today at 7 weeks. I hit a real slump around 3.30 but have such busy work days, not so bad when I’m at home but dreading being in the office for the next two days.

CDD · 12/03/2024 18:40

I am with everyone on feeling exhausted I slept the day away yesterday even though I had a good nights sleep the night before. I woke up today at 5.30am and have stayed awake all day even though I could have easily lay down for a nap but couldn’t do that as I had work to do.

Have any of guys given into temptation and brought anything for you little baby/babies yet?

I know I have only something little as I saw it and cried it was just a little vest that says I love my big sister to the moon and back as I didn’t think after 14 years of only having my DD that I would be buying things that said sister lol. Oh and I also got myself a top that says baby loading for 2024

spudnik1 · 12/03/2024 20:04

I have been really tired these past few days . I was thinking it would get better from around now but nope absolutely shattered when I get in from work.

I used to do a boogie bounce class (midwife said no to trampoline ) keep trying to work up the energy to go for a walk after work but all I want to do is eat and sleep !

MrsA2015 · 12/03/2024 20:43

8 weeks today and the exhaustion is debilitating! I've been offered my first appointed all the way in May which seems a bit far off...I may cave and book an early scan😀

LuxeBiscuit · 12/03/2024 21:02

@MrsA2015 May doesn't seem right if you're already 8 weeks. Is that for your dating scan or booking appointment?

You need to have your first scan before 13+6 I believe.

WickWood · 12/03/2024 21:08

Gosh, I feel absolutely awful, I think I'm coming down with flu, even though I've had my jab. Sore skin, headache, my throat is agony, aching, coughing, nauseous. I've taken one paracetamol as the guidelines seem to say to take as few as possible?

WeightoftheWorld · 12/03/2024 21:50

@spudnik1 out of interest why arent you meant to go trampolining? I can imagine in late pregnancy it probably wouldn't be comfortable and wouldn't want to risk landing straight on your front. But can't understand the problem in the first trimester?

I have always taken paracetamol as normal during pregnancy where needed. It's the go-to painkiller and anti-pyretic in pregnancy and often suggested for use in early labour (not that it ever seemed to help me then but I still took them anyway, haha).

As @LuxeBiscuit said May seems very late if it's for your booking appointment and even for first scan! I'm 7+3 and have my booking appt next Monday where they'll hopefully book my 12 week scan in xxx

CDD · 12/03/2024 22:32

@MrsA2015 I had a appointment come through the post when I first registered my pregnancy online I was going to call my gp the day after or the maternity team at the hospital that the appointment was for as the letter said appointment for the 25th of April. However the next day I received a text message saying someone would call me the following day to do a booking apt over the phone to get my details etc when they called me they set up my badger notes and then said I would get either get a call, text, letter or update on badger notes for the date of my first scan. I asked what the appointment for the 25th of April was for and they said it was just a maternity appointment even though its not with the hospital I am going to be having my scan and other appointments with so this confused me. Does the appointment state what its for exactly or does it just say maternity department. But as the others have said May seems late for a first scan so maybe give them a call just to double check as it maybe an error or the fact this appointment is showing or reached you before your scan appointment as mine did.
