Seems we got to the end of a thread. Not sure if a new one has been set up.

Me neither - to be honest i don't weigh myself anyway as it's just not good for my mental health, no scales in my house . Plus my mum can be bit tricky about weight and is always asking me how much I weigh so easier to avoid. She's already said 'you've not put on weight yet, have you?' 😬.

I was weighed at my booking in appointment 2 weeks ago and my bmi was healthy but under 20 so I think I should be okay if I put on a bit. I've gone from intense exercising 5 days a week to staying in bed eating toast - ha ha. My boobs have changed loads and are absolutely huge currently!

If everything goes well I'll also have 2 hen dos and 3 weddings when I'm 7/8 months pregnant so will need to find some dressy outfits too!

Edited

Oh yes- I have a very close friend's wedding when I'll be 7 months pregnant and I definitely don't have anything that will be loose enough so I'll have to buy a maternity dress closer to the time. It's my first baby and I want 2 eventually though so at least there's the possibility of using it again someday.

WeightoftheWorld · 10/03/2024 09:05

@RobynC28 my BMI is also under 20, did your midwife say you need to have some growth scans in late pregnancy because of this? She told me I would need 3, can't remember the exact times but late in pregnancy and told me I was underweight with a BMI under 20. Hmm This is my third pregnancy and my BMI was def under 20 in my last pregnancy and probably in my first as well and I never needed more scans because of it. And my BMI is like 19+ so not under 18.5 or anything so def not underweight. Just curious whether you got told the same thing or not?

Sorry I use the app and it's so glitchy and won't let me tag more than one person per post Easter Angry mrsprincess nice to see someone else pregnant with #3! But wow you're superwoman with those age gaps!! Mine are 5 and 2 but will be 6 and 3 when this one is born. I couldnt manage small gaps but I can def see the positives of them. My due date is actually the day after DC2's birthday so I hope they're a bit late or bit early as I'd rather they not have their birthdays that close together!

No mines also 19ish . She told me anything over 18.5 is healthy but to be careful not to loose weight. No mention about additional scans - can you ask for a second opinion? Although I guess extra scans are always reassuring?

mrssunshinexxx · 10/03/2024 09:29

@RobynC28 I think you were trying to tag me ? :) this baby was not planned !! I'm still in shock / denial / stressed we wanted a much bigger gap for number 3 but here we are !
My youngest birthday is early Nov and I have gone late with both other pregnancies so also worried about birthdays really close together. There's a small chance I might have an elective but more chance of me ending in an over due EMC with my track record 😂
You can decline the scans if you don't have any concerns you know x

I think this is for @WeightoftheWorld 😀

Has anyone done the Sneak Peak blood test to find out baby's sex before?

I know some people don't agree or understand it but I'm just so excited and want to know as much information as I can about little bub. I've heard it can be inaccurate if doing the home test due to contamination, so we went for a blood test at the clinic on Friday. We should get our results some time next week, I'm so excited❤️

Sara1988 · 10/03/2024 10:14

We've made the decision not to find out. Quite surprised how big a thing finding the sex out is. Family keep asking us and seem disappointed we don't want to know.

I'm taking the nipt test tomorrow with a gender test too. To be brutally honest I do have a strong gender preference which is why I've decided to find out so early so I have time to process either way! I think if we got the gender I've always wished for this time I'd consider having a suprise if we had other kids as sounds like a lovely thing to do. 😊

CDD · 10/03/2024 11:28

Can I ask the dates of peoples 12th week scans and how far you have worked out you will be when having it?

tia

Sara1988 · 10/03/2024 11:40

@RobynC28 jeez, I hope for the child's sake you get the sex you want...

@CDD I will be 12+5 at ours. I wish it were sooner. I'm inclined to have a private before then (I'm 10 now) but partner would rather now. We had one at 8+3 privately (which would 100% recommend it you want reassurance.)

mrssunshinexxx · 10/03/2024 11:54

@CDD don't have date yet but 'due' it around 15th April

mrssunshinexxx · 10/03/2024 11:55

Definitely finding out sex here mainlt so I can get organised get rid of / or buy clothes but no sooner than 20 week scan x

IsLarryFromSomething · 10/03/2024 12:16

We are due our 12 week scan around April 12th but it seems that you book it at the midwife appt in our trust so we haven't had that yet.

We will be finding out the sex at 20 weeks if possible, no preference but just nice to know and mentally prepare myself. I'm not sure if we'll tell people though!

Trifficult · 10/03/2024 12:32

I had a surprise the first time and going for a surprise this time too.

spudnik1 · 10/03/2024 12:34

@CDD I will be 12+4 at my 12 week scan. These next couple.of weeks are going to drag so much !

Not feeling brill today, very constipated so just feel sluggish and yuk .

Oct24 · 10/03/2024 12:36

Finding out the sex with our NIPT test. Same as @mrssunshinexxx. We're happy either way. Just eager to know so I can get the tubs of baby stuff I have kept out and start to go through them.

Nic2908 · 10/03/2024 12:49

@RobynC28 i have my nipt on Thursday morning and we’re going to find out too. I really was considering a surprise this time, but we’re going to find out too. Will be interesting to see how long your results take to come back. My little boy doesn’t know I’m pregnant but he keeps asking for a little sister. I hope for his sake it is, but I feel I was always destined to be a boy mum so I’m not sure it will be.

Thankyou for the replies :)

Mine has been booked in for 21st March I will be 12+1 and then my appointment with my midwife is booked for 5th April.
I have only had a call up to now with a midwife which lasted about 30 mins to get my information ect and just advise me about taking pregnancy supplements and that I will need to take aspirin from 12 weeks.

In regards to finding out the gender I am in two minds I didn’t with my DD and it was really lovely but on the other hand I think I do want to be able to buy for a certain gender. But we have some to think this over lol

Hi can I join? Due mid-October with #3. Having a low day today, feeling terribly nauseous and exhausted so spent a lot of today in bed. Increased the dose of my anti sickness medication today and hoping that will help. I had HG in my first two pregnancies so was sooo much more unwell in comparison then of course but I seem to be getting worse as the weeks go by atm so quite anxious about that.

Re: clothes, I can juuuust about fit into my normal jeans etc still but it's tight and uncomfortable. I have put on about 1.5kg or something but I've been this weight before and still fitted fine in my trousers, I think it must surely be terrible bloating as the baby and womb are still absolutely tiny?! As I say in my last two pregnancies I was severely unwell by now so didn't have this issue as was bed bound anyway except for appointments so only wore PJs and then occasionally leggings for an appointment or whatever. I also lost weight with DC1 and didn't gain any with DC2 in the first trimesters with the severe sickness.

I could have written your post myself.
Im third pregnancy too, due mid October, with history of awful hyperemesis in both previous pregnancies. Feeling nauseous (and anxious!) just like you, so sending a hand hold your way Flowers hoping our journey is kinder this time.

Hi to everyone 👋 so glad I found this thread.

Sara1988 · 10/03/2024 13:03

New symptom unlocked: bleeding gums. Looked like a bloodbath when I brushed my teeth this morning.

WickWood · 10/03/2024 14:02

@CDD Aww, we must have the same due date, my 12 week scan is also 21st March and I'll be 12+1!

I want to find out the sex too, I think we'll get a private scan at 16 weeks.

AnxiousD · 10/03/2024 15:30

Hi all. I'm 8wks and had really bad cramps and a very bad stomach early hours of this morning. I'm noticing my discharge is brownish in colour. Sorry for TMI. Do you think a MW will be bothered or shall I contact them?

spudnik1 · 10/03/2024 17:11

Have been to John lewis this afternoon in search of a comfy, non wired bra . The lovely lady in the lingerie section really helped me out, and I highly recommend the basic John lewis ( think it's anyday?). Bra sooooo comfy I am never taking them off !

spudnik1 · 10/03/2024 17:13

@AnxiousD
If you are bothered, give them a ring. I did have a tiny bit of brown discharge around 8 weeks, and my midwife wasn't bothered as it was brown and not a lot. I have had a scan since, and all is well.

WickWood · 10/03/2024 17:17

@AnxiousD I had the same, awful stomach pains and really bad diarrhea, mostly at night. It seems to have subsided now, but I think it's pretty common in pregnancy as your hormones are haywire! Maybe call the EPU for their advice.
