Seems we got to the end of a thread. Not sure if a new one has been set up.

Oh man! Too many names to personally mention but I'm so sorry everyone is feeling so anxious and full of worry. It's such a precarious time in every pregnancy. Gone are the days of us being blissfully unaware of what can go wrong (both a blessing and curse!)

Hang in there everyone. So glad we have all found each other for moral support. Hopefully in a few weeks when we pass the magic 12 week scan we can all start to relax. Sending everyone a massive hug!! Xx

LER2023 · 08/03/2024 06:46

Hi guys, heres a random one for everyone who have had children previously or even whos currently pregnant!!

Did/does anyone struggle with their teeth? Like my teeth are breaking, i had 2 previous mc's and both times during pregnancy my teeth broke at the back.. like exposing the nerve.. painful to say the least lmao

But ive eaten some toast this morning, i dont have it burnt either so its not exactly hard, but already partly broken tooth has broken again!!

Dentist is out of the question because id have to go private and its SO expensive!
And nhs arent taking on due to waiting lists!🫠

Just kind of want to know whether anyone else has any experience of their teeth being an issue during pregnancy?

I told my partner i was waiting for my next tooth to break because im pregnant again and then it happens this morning🙃

I do keep up with my dental hygeine. I will brush, use mouthwash, everything but theyre so brittle during pregnancy and im not too sure why? Anyone else experienced it?

spudnik1 · 08/03/2024 07:15

@LER2023 the baby absorb the calcium in your body. This can mean taking it from your bones and teeth if you do not have sufficient.

Maybe you need to up your calcium ?

My teeth are not the best 😕 and I am slightly dairy intolerant ( upset tummy with dairy products) but I am making sure I have a yoghurt a day and a glass of milk ( yuk) but remember you also need vit D yo absorb calcium , its just been winter so we are all probably a bit.down on that one

@CharlieBalf Sorry to hear that you are feeling anxious - how long do you have to wait for your next scan? Like PPs have said, it's hard to measure and date accurately so early on, and it could also just end up being that baby is a bit on the small side but growing at the right rate. I think you have to take comfort from the fact that you still have symptoms and there's nothing to suggest right now that anything is wrong.

I've been feeling a bit anxious for the last 24 hours too - have been having some brown discharge/spotting since yesterday evening, not very much but anything like that just completely freaks me out and makes me think I must be miscarrying again. I had something similar a couple of weeks ago and both times it's come about 5-6 days after a scan so I'm wondering if the internal scan has just irritated my cervix a bit and it's caused some light bleeding that then takes a few days to come out. I'm hoping that's a plausible explanation for my rational brain to hang onto...

Try not to worry, brown means old blood which is a good thing.

CM123baby · 08/03/2024 09:23

Hi everyone

Hope You’re all doing well!

I’ve had 2 scans and still no idea what’s going on, everyone at the hospital speaks to me like I’m going to miscarry no reassurance whatsoever and it’s driving me insane! I know deep down they are probably right, my first scan I had I thought I was 6 weeks they dated me 4 weeks, my scan 2 weeks after they said they have seen an improvement in size but no heartbeat that would make me 6+1 by there dates and they also said the sac was a funny shape, I had my bloods taken they went from 3,000 to 22,000 but they still don’t think it’s good enough. I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I have a scan on Tuesday booked just hoping for a heartbeat at this one so they can start speaking to me like I’m growing a baby, they probs don’t want to give me false hope I’d just like them to say I have a chance because I feel like I could have a little chance with the rise in HCG and improvement on the scan :( clinging on for dear life with a little bit of hope. Xx

tryforbabynumber2 · 08/03/2024 09:49

@LER2023 I'm prescribed Evacal D3 (chewable calcium tablets) x2 per day as I've had a gastric bypass so have to take multivitamins, vitamin D, B12 injections and chewable calcium for life. Could be worth asking GP if they can prescribe for you xx

tryforbabynumber2 · 08/03/2024 09:50

@CM123baby I can't offer much advice I'm afraid as I haven't had any scans yet, but I really hope it works out well for you. Poor of the hospital not to give you some reassurance or at least be more empathetic xxx

CharlieBalf · 08/03/2024 10:20

@CluelessInLondon next scan is on Thursday so not too long to wait. Its such a tough few weeks between finding out at about 4 weeka and the 12 week scan which seems to be the point when a lot of the risk lessens.

Like a previous poster said, I also don't have my 12 week scan until 13+5! Nearly a week and half after Easter. I didn't have private scans with my other two but definitely feel I'm somehow .more anxious over this one. I think I would have preferred another ivf baby with all the extra medical support I'd receive.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 08/03/2024 10:59

@nervousn3lly thank you so much, this definitely made me feel more positive.

@CM123baby no advice or experience of this but gosh what a confusing time for you. So inconclusive and makes the days drag big time I bet. Hope you get some answers soon!

Feeling pretty nauseous / hungry today. I think we will do a scan either a week today, so 8 days beyond yesterday's, or a week Monday! 🙏🏻

I know exactly how all you very nauseous people feel, it is so so bad and so hard to convey to others unless you've experienced it. Know it will pass once that placenta takes over and you will feel normal again! Not sure if anyone is taking pregnacare but that made my nausea with baby 1 so much worse. I stopped taking it around week 14 and took individual supplements to support pregnancy.

WickWood · 08/03/2024 11:45

@CM123baby Thinking of you, I hope your next scan goes well x

CluelessInLondon · 08/03/2024 11:53

@CM123baby I'm sorry that things are so confusing for you right now - I think that's probably the worst place to be, not having any certainty of what's going on and feeling like you're in limbo. How far along do you think you should be on Tuesday when you have your next scan?

@CharlieBalf Keeping fingers crossed for you for your next scan and that it gives you some reassurance. I know what you mean about how long it feels between finding out and the dating scan - it's no wonder so many people have private scans to help them understand how things are going before that. It feels completely crazy to me that by the time I get to my 12 week scan I'll already have known I'm pregnant for nearly 2 months but almost nobody else knows.

CM123baby · 08/03/2024 12:01

Thankyou everyone ❤️

@CluelessInLondon by my dates I thought I’d be 9ish weeks but they but me back 2 weeks so 7+1, I’m not certain of my cycle lengths but my last period was 4th Jan xx

Oct24 · 08/03/2024 12:11

@CM123baby So sorry to hear there is so uncertainty. I don't have much advice sorry. Thinking of you.

When was your first positive pregnancy test? Were you actively trying to conceive/ testing for ovulation and pregnancy? This might give you a better idea on how far along you are. If you had a positive OPK then you could count your weeks from then and add two weeks.

CM123baby · 08/03/2024 12:26

@Oct24 I was due my period 4th Feb and got a very faint positive for about 5 days after that then it went darker. So if u go from that and add 2 weeks I think that would make me around 6+ weeks. I just went off the app and it calculated it for me xx

Ellenn · 08/03/2024 12:34

@mrssunshinexxx I had a haematoma found at 7 wks scan and a week later I had another scan and it’s completely gone and absorbed!! I didn’t even have any bleeding at all. So it may just get absorbed, how far along are you?

sorry to hear everyone is worried, I was super scared too but I had a scan yesterday and it’s amazing the difference in what you see as you get closer to 9 wks - it’s got wee legs and arms!! I hope everyone hangs in there until your next scans xxx

mrssunshinexxx · 08/03/2024 14:56

@Ellenn that's positive to hear never had bleeding with my other pregnancies. I'm 6+5 x

KittyFantastica · 08/03/2024 15:22

Hi all, hope you're doing well.

I'm still mostly laying low for a bit as we've had quite the roller coaster these last few weeks. I went for my EPU scan to confirm blighted ovum yesterday and came out with a picture of a little baby with a heartbeat. Hubs and I are still in shock and, while the EPU seemed happy, we are guarding our hearts still. I should, going by LH, have been 7+2 yesterday, and they measured baby as 6 weeks. I'm sure of my ovulation date, so there's no chance I ovulated late. I don't really know why it could be measuring so far behind, but I know it could go either way at this point. Obviously, we are hoping for the best but trying to keep ourselves prepared for the worst

I'm in a state of limbo now and have a follow up scan with EPU in two weeks time to see if there's still a heartbeat. I've still not had any particular symptoms to speak of except some bad cramping two weeks ago and some very, very mild nausea this week. I just wanted to update everyone I can see others are in the same boat and as I've found this thread supportive ❤️ Wishing you all really well.

@KittyFantastica That is lovely news, as much as you are understandably still feeling very cautious. I really hope your next scan shows progress and that baby is developing at the right pace. ❤

spudnik1 · 08/03/2024 16:23

@KittyFantastica that's wonderful news !
As for measuring behind remember ultrasound measurements can be off by up to 20% and the numbers are tiny at this stage so easily off by a bit 😀

Mitsky · 08/03/2024 16:51

I had a scan today and also saw a little heartbeat, measuring right on track for 6 weeks. I need to go back for a scan in 2 weeks and at that point will start to believe it’s real.

massively keeping my fingers crossed that this is the one that finally sticks around!

Scarftown · 08/03/2024 18:16

@KittyFantastica Thats great news! I can only imagine the rollercoaster of emotions. Keeping everything crossed for you.

IsLarryFromSomething · 08/03/2024 18:20

That's great @KittyFantastica ! Hoping everything goes smoothly from here x

Nervous764367 · 08/03/2024 20:06

Had my scan tonight. Baby measuring 9w1 day just as I thought. Massive relief as I’ve found my symptoms have been fluctuating over the last couple of days.

hope this means everything will be ok. On to 12 week scan. X

ButterflySkies · 08/03/2024 20:58

@KittyFantastica what wonderful news - that's genuinely made my day. What a rollercoaster though, take care of yourself xx

tryforbabynumber2 · 09/03/2024 09:55

Morning everyone, how are we all feeling? I'm 7 weeks today and the nausea has started to creep in 😩 So much for being lucky and escaping it like last time! I have an early private scan a week today when I'm 8 weeks and I'm keeping everything crossed that all is okay! Xxx
