Seems we got to the end of a thread. Not sure if a new one has been set up.

@ButterflySkies perhaps it's a hematoma? They either bleed or absorb and you wouldn't know you've had one without a scan. Odd wording and not super helpful - I'd definitely call or get a copy of the report ? X

FlyOnTheWall89 · 07/03/2024 15:50

@tryforbabynumber2 okay yes, makes sense. I feel like I've known I'm pregnant for so long already I was sure I'd get to see something today! Still light pink tinged CM but nothing more than that.

LuxeBiscuit · 07/03/2024 16:33

@ButterflySkies I'd call and ask for further information. The double negative is confusing. Is it insignificant or not, considering she was relaxed. I'd also ask for info on where the bleed is located.

I have a cyst on my ovary and the sonographer was equally relaxed but I did some googling and it is quite common.

tryforbabynumber2 · 07/03/2024 16:35

@FlyOnTheWall89 Oh I'm with you there! I've known since about 3+4 so it feels like a lifetime! I was the same with my daughter (first pregnancy) - found out really early and we had an early scan at about 8 weeks and even then she was just a little blob (but with a visible heartbeat). I think weeks 8-12 they grow so much and actually look like a baby by 12 weeks xxx

CharlieBalf · 07/03/2024 16:37

Hi all,

Having a really bad day. Don't feel preg at all today. I still have nausea!(everyday, all day) but I've felt so down over thr past two days. I have such a fear that baby has stopped growing.

We had a scan when I was dated at 5+6 and saw a heartbeat but going by dates - even taking into account my 32 day cycle and a few days leeway for conception - I was measuring a week behind.

Plus, I had progesterone support for DD as DS was ivf but wasn't offered this time. All three of my previous non medicated pregnancies have ended in miscarriag.

I have a private scan booked for what should be 9+2 but terrified baby will be even more behind or have stopped growing.

Feels like I've been pregnant for so long even though we've o ly known for 5 weeks or so. .
Sorry for the rant, no one else but hubby and my mother know so I don't really have anyone to talk to about it.

WickWood · 07/03/2024 16:59

@CharlieBalf
Try not to worry, easier said than done, I know. I've had 3 scans, the second one reduced the date of the baby by like 5 days and said it was totally normal for a fluctuation, when I went for my third scan the baby had grown and was the same date I'd been given during the first scan. Hope that makes sense. What I'm trying to say is that the sonographers told me it's totally normal for their to be some fluctuation in dates and 5/6 days is totally normal x

WickWood · 07/03/2024 17:01

@FlyOnTheWall89
What type of scan did you have? Internal or abdominal? X

FlyOnTheWall89 · 07/03/2024 17:10

@WickWood internal scan. With my daughter I went at 6+4 and measured 6+1 but knew my cycles so much better and had loads of data having tried for over a year for her. I think it's just a waiting game isn't it.

mrssunshinexxx · 07/03/2024 17:31

When I went for my scan yesterday they dated me at 5+ as she said they don't date that early it's so in accurate. I know I'm about 6+4 but trying to not stress and trust what she says

OneSunnyFox · 07/03/2024 17:35

@CharlieBalf not sure if it also helps, but I was measuring behind from an early scan, but when I discussed with my midwife they said they wouldn’t alter the dates until they look at 12 weeks, as it gives a more accurate reading as it’s not millimetre differences over a week or days but larger measurements as growth picks up!

ButterflySkies · 07/03/2024 17:43

Thanks all she gave hubby a piece of paper! Why did he not tell me, he's been sat with it in his pocket!

She's was really lovely. I'm sure she told us this but she has written down "patient to give information to sonographer at 12 week scan:

Bleed uterine wall, adjacent to yolk sac, 2.4cm x 1.9cm. Query implantation bleeding. Likely not to be visible at 12 week scan. 12 scan to check not persistent or enlarged.

Patient to contact midwives and/or GP if red blood and/or severe cramping. Spotting to be expected"

So I feel a lot better now!! Apart from the fact that "bleed" is much bigger than the baby who is less than a cm! X

CharlieBalf · 07/03/2024 17:52

@WickWood amd @OneSunnyFox thank you for your reassurance. I'm sure it's just nerves but it's so hard to think about anything else.

Interesting that the due date and age is only calculated after the 12 week scan
.. it makes sense as baby is easier to measure and less room for mistakes to happen.

IsLarryFromSomething · 07/03/2024 18:12

I'm struggling so much with nausea today and I also forgot my key to the house (baby brain has been real too) so I've had to come and sit in the pub with a lemonade to wait for DH to come home. Just hoping the nausea doesn't get the better of me and am visualising calm landscapes 😅

CluelessInLondon · 07/03/2024 19:04

@CharlieBalf Sorry to hear that you are feeling anxious - how long do you have to wait for your next scan? Like PPs have said, it's hard to measure and date accurately so early on, and it could also just end up being that baby is a bit on the small side but growing at the right rate. I think you have to take comfort from the fact that you still have symptoms and there's nothing to suggest right now that anything is wrong.

I've been feeling a bit anxious for the last 24 hours too - have been having some brown discharge/spotting since yesterday evening, not very much but anything like that just completely freaks me out and makes me think I must be miscarrying again. I had something similar a couple of weeks ago and both times it's come about 5-6 days after a scan so I'm wondering if the internal scan has just irritated my cervix a bit and it's caused some light bleeding that then takes a few days to come out. I'm hoping that's a plausible explanation for my rational brain to hang onto...

SKLM · 07/03/2024 19:06

Hey guys. I'm about 8 weeks. Found out I was pregnant 4 weeks ago, I've had a UTI that won't go away since then. On my third week of antibiotics and feeling rough with fever. On top of this the nausea kicked in 2 weeks ago, i'm sick to my stomach every day, waking at night with it and vomiting too. Have started anti sickness medicine yesterday.. I just hope it helps as I'm living on beige and plain water! @IsLarryFromSomething definitely sympathising with you and your nausea have you found anything that helps for you?

mrssunshinexxx · 07/03/2024 19:15

@ButterflySkies I was scanned yest due to bleeding my baby is measuring 4.3mm and the bleed is 16mm x 13mm so worried the baby will just come away with the bleed 😭

Mitsky · 07/03/2024 20:04

I have a scan tomorrow when I should be about 6 weeks. I’m so so worried that it’s not going to be good news. I’ve felt horrific today and just have a horrible sense of doom.

LuxeBiscuit · 07/03/2024 20:07

@CluelessInLondon like you say, you've had this type of spotting before then had a positive scan after so hopefully it's nothing to be concerned about.

WickWood · 07/03/2024 20:13

@Mitsky Fingers crossed all will be fine, at my 6 week scan they had to do an internal scan as they couldn't find anything on the abdominal one so bare that in mind and don't panic if they can't find anything on the external one!

Nic2908 · 07/03/2024 20:53

Isn’t it funny how we all seem to be having a doomy moment. I also feel like something isn’t going to be right. But I think maybe that’s a self preservation thing, to have me readily protected for the worst.

im actually feeling quite great, again apart from the breast pain. I given them a squeeze ever now and again to make sure 🤣🤣🤣.

really feel for those vomiting, that was me with my last two pregnancies. It’s horrendous isn’t it. And the nausea, I always found sour sweets or sucking on a hard boiled sweet always helped with the nausea wave hitting.

nervousn3lly · 07/03/2024 21:04

@FlyOnTheWall89 I hope this can be of comfort to you I went for a early scan at 6+2 but only a yolk sac seen nothing else they didn't even measure me to say how far that measured but I guess less than 6wks they got me back 7days later and everything was as it should be heartbeat there and I was measuring 7+2 which is what I should of been that day.

I hope that makes u feel better it's such a long wait inbetween I do understand that x

Jacky86 · 07/03/2024 21:08

I am also feeling so anxious. I think it’s because I haven’t had any scans yet and with my other children I had scans at 7 weeks each time. I’m booked in for next week when I’ll be 9 weeks but it just seems like a lifetime away. I desperately want to see a little heartbeat.

IsLarryFromSomething · 07/03/2024 21:10

@SKLM I find it's worse when I get hungry so I have to eat a little something often to help prevent. But I do generally feel nauseous most of the time anyway, just it's way worse when I'm hungry. I think I'm lucky because it doesn't come with vomiting (yet...I'm 6+6).

ButterflySkies · 07/03/2024 21:28

@mrssunshinexxx oh love i feel for you, I feel the same. I didnt cramp at all with DD and I'm really crampy this time which isnt helping.

Let's hope we have a couple of sticky little beans. My 12 week scan is when I'm over 13 weeks so hubby has recommended booking another scan towards the end of march so it doesnt feel like such a long time waiting. Can you get another scan in to try and reassure you?

Definitely having a downer over here too! Maybe it's all our hormones at this point?! X

mrssunshinexxx · 07/03/2024 21:38

@ButterflySkies stressful isn't it, that sounds. A good plan for you, I'm going to try and wait I think. X
