Seems we got to the end of a thread. Not sure if a new one has been set up.

Sorry to hear that so many of you are struggling with nausea and sickness - I really hope things improve for everyone soon. ❤ I think I've been quite lucky, haven't been sick at all and seem to be able to deal with nausea by making sure I eat something when I start feeling queasy (although it does mean I'm getting through a lot of toast and biscuits 😂). Now I'm over 10 weeks I should theoretically be getting to the point where symptoms start to ease, but I find the symptoms kind of comforting!

LuxeBiscuit · 07/03/2024 11:10

@Itsasomething yes, either friends were very lucky or they just didn't say how sick they felt.

I always assumed morning sickness was being physically sick once or twice a day. What I didn't realise is it would be 24/7 motion sickness, nausea (upset stomach) mixed with exhaustion and headaches.

The nausea around 5 weeks came and went so wasn't that bad but it's constant now.

AppleTree16 · 07/03/2024 12:08

My first pregnancy was a dream. I was a bit nauseous for a week and then completely fine. This one 🤢

GiantRoadPuzzle · 07/03/2024 12:10

Still nauseous over here, 6 weeks yesterday. It’s been a very very long two weeks of near constant nausea.

I find the morning is worse, but can manage it with wearing sickness bands overnight and eating cereal. I’m normally ok by lunchtime and then ravenous, but have been losing weight.

mylittkeitalianhome · 07/03/2024 12:25

10 weeks, 2 days here. Just had a scan yesterday (I'm in Italy, where you have a midwife app and scan every month, which is quite lovely). All looking good - I find this stage very surreal as I don't feel like I'm growing a baby (apart from constant queasiness), but then during the scan you suddenly see this tiny little human dancing around in your tummy! It's so strange. I think the nausea is easing up - the mornings are definitely wayyy easier and I can now drink coffee again!

mouldygrapes · 07/03/2024 12:45

I feel everyone suffering with nausea. It's hit me hard, was similar in my first pregnancy. Can't bear coffee or tea which I usually love, the smell makes me gag. I was prescribed Xonvea which is the new first line antisickness tablet but I'm not sure it's doing more than taking the edge off. It's a sedating one so finding it's making me more tired, which is already bad as I'm solo with a toddler, my DH is working away weekdays until after Easter.

Just trying to take it one day at a time!
We have a private scan booked on Sat which should be 8+1 so hoping we can see something 🤞🏼

Love and beige carbs to everyone, I'm mainlining s&v crisps here!

mrssunshinexxx · 07/03/2024 12:47

Sorry I can't face replying to everyone individually but I appreciate your responses and kind words. Sorry so many of you are in the same boat. I just feel a crap mum to my girls because I feel so shit and short tempered I cannot wait for the 2nd trimester glow up 😂

mrssunshinexxx · 07/03/2024 13:05

Has anyone looked at the ramzi theory on scans , my friend did mine yesterday and said she thinks girl . Obviously not taking us as gospel but don't think I can cope with 3 girls ! Will be interesting as I'm one of3 girls

Apparently the Ramzi theory is 50% accurate, so in other words, a load of guff!

How do you tell what side the placenta is on? This is my first but 3 girls would be my dream! Ha ha. Although I'm sure it's not really accurate.

I'm getting a nipt test next week as I'll be 10 weeks so will find out then.

YellowHedgehog · 07/03/2024 13:49

Hi ladies, I am out, no October baby for me this time. Had a scan this morning and they couldn't see anything there at all, so confirmed what I already knew anyway. They took a urine sample and I'm still testing positive so will need to take another one in a couple of weeks time to make sure everything has passed.
Wishing you all an easy pregnancy and healthy babies! Smile I'm hoping to pop up on another thread soon.

WickWood · 07/03/2024 13:50

@mrssunshinexxx What is it? I'd love a little guess, even if it's not accurate!

Quite a few people say if their sickness/nausea is bad it means a girl... Does this ring true with anyone's previous children?

mrssunshinexxx · 07/03/2024 13:51

So sorry @YellowHedgehog that's really sad. Look after yourself x

mrssunshinexxx · 07/03/2024 13:51

@WickWood www.earlylife.co.uk/blogs/news/ramzi-theory-explained

I've got 2 girls already and this pregnancy is identical so far

WickWood · 07/03/2024 13:54

@YellowHedgehog
I'm so sorry, thinking of you x

WickWood · 07/03/2024 14:01

@mrssunshinexxx I've just had a look, I can't tell which side the placenta is on my pics/videos. When I went for my 9 week scan the sonographer said he'd say a girl, can't wait to find out!

SELE97 · 07/03/2024 14:06

@YellowHedgehog I'm so so sorry, that's awful. Please look after yourself, sending hugs❤️

CluelessInLondon · 07/03/2024 14:06

@YellowHedgehog I'm so sorry to hear this, take care of yourself. Flowers

tryforbabynumber2 · 07/03/2024 14:07

So sorry @YellowHedgehog ❤️ Sending lots of love and hoping you are on another thread soon. Take care xxx

tryforbabynumber2 · 07/03/2024 14:10

Sorry to hear everyone suffering so badly with sickness and nausea 😔 I'm very lucky (so far) as no sickness and only a few moments of nausea. I didn't have any sickness really with DD1 until I was a bit further on like third trimester as she was breach until near the end so her head was pressing on my stomach 🤢 Hoping I will be lucky again with the sickness and nausea this time but it's still early days (6+4) so we shall see! Early private scan a week on Saturday (should be 7+6) eeek xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 07/03/2024 14:22

@YellowHedgehog so sorry to read that, look after yourself and best of luck in the coming months 🤞🏻

ButterflySkies · 07/03/2024 14:41

@YellowHedgehog im so sorry lovely. Sending a hand hold.

Can i ask some advice? I had a scan today and there is a baby with a strong heartbeat 🩷

She said i have a "non-insignificant" bleed though. She said to expect some spotting and seemed pretty relaxed about it - low and behold ive just had some dots of bright red blood. Has anyone else been told the same and it's been ok?

Bloody reassurance scans, i know it's a coincidence that's happened (it was an abdominal scan), but I now feel quite worried! Xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 07/03/2024 14:47

A bit of an inconclusive scan for me. Gestational sac present and yolk but no embryo seen although the doctor said she wouldn't expect to see an embryo in a sac of that size so predicts I'm just less than 6 weeks and suggests another scan in 10 days. I have only had 2 cycles since I had my daughter and they've been a bit irregular... I wasn't doing ovulation tests or anything so I have no clue of this is right or perhaps a sign things are not progressing. HCG wise, I did a test on Sunday and Wednesday and got 3+ weeks on both. The first day of my last cycle was 23rd Jan and my 2 previous cycles were 28 and 35 days. Any insights? X

tryforbabynumber2 · 07/03/2024 14:51

@FlyOnTheWall89 the first day of my last period was 21st Jan, which puts me at 6+4 with a cycle of around 27-28 days. So I would guess if your last period was 23rd Jan and you have slightly longer cycles on average then the doctor may be right in dating you just before 6 weeks! So might just be very early for a scan to see anything. Hopefully you will see more on your next scan in 10 days - at least it's not too much longer to wait ❤️ 9 days till my first early private scan at 7+6 so will see what we can see then xxx

tryforbabynumber2 · 07/03/2024 14:57

@ButterflySkies could you contact whoever did the scan to ask for clarification as to where the bleeding is coming from and if it's anything to be worried about? In my first pregnancy they said I had a cyst which could burst and cause bleeding but that it wasn't anything to worry about. I don't think it did cause any bleeding but maybe it could be something similar for you? Might be worth just asking them for some reassurance xxx
