Seems we got to the end of a thread. Not sure if a new one has been set up.

@mrssunshinexxx How are things now? You got a great line on your test yesterday, and if the bleeding has stopped then that's hopefully a good sign and it was just a one-off random thing. Will you go for a scan when you get a bit further along or just wait for 12 weeks?

@3littlesunshines How did your scan go yesterday?

@ladycarlotta Welcome and congratulations - I'm sorry to hear about your previous losses but it's great that you've had your early scan and things are looking good. ❤

@Nervous764367 @Joey2011 Good luck for your scans this week!

I've also been thinking about when/how to tell work - this is my first baby so I haven't taken time out before, but my work is restructuring at the moment so I'm feeling a bit vulnerable as I already know there won't be enough jobs for everyone at my level and I'm going to have to reapply and go through a selection process to hopefully get a job after the restructure. The restructure will be implemented just before I'm due to go on mat leave, so I'm not sure whether they will find it really inconvenient to have someone who they appoint and then goes off on maternity leave straight away, or if they might be too scared of being accused of discrimination to make a pregnant lady redundant!

RobynC28 · 04/03/2024 10:30

I probably won't say until the 20 week scan-just in case. Unless I start showing by then. I'm size 8/10 so not sure if this means I'm likely to show quickly or not!

My team is really nice and supportive and there's a few people in the wider team who are off on mat leave at the moment so I don't foresee any major issues. Im very lucky as have worked in toxic environments before so moving to a supportive working environment was a major factor in us deciding to ttc.

lpylou · 04/03/2024 10:34

@RobynC28 is this your first? I remember being so at ease with no.1 but I think it's both the short gap between maternity leave and the promotion (announced today) which make me anxious. I'm seeing all of the congratulations messages coming in and thinking I will be in seat 6.5 months :/

cm3212 · 04/03/2024 10:36

What a world of emotions this journey is guys!

Had an early scan last week, saw a heartbeat and measured 5+2.. but had some light bleeding in last 24hrs .. spoke to GP & got an app at my epau tomorrow so hoping everything is ok! The bleeding has stopped now so hoping it's one of those things!

Can see a couple of other people have had the same .. ❤️

Now for the 28hour wait for my scan 😬😬

cm3212 · 04/03/2024 10:38

Also, in terms of work I think it depends what your team/work place is like.

I've already told my manager, she's lovely & because I was undergoing fertility appointments which they were already aware of. Plus it means I've got all my app time paid and risk assessments have been done.

But I do understand why some people wait a little bit longer.

CDD · 04/03/2024 10:39

@sansol My age gap will be 14 years so I will have one child in university and one in nursery that part is still blowing my mind.

Yes my first which is much easier! That must be tough but you should think most men (unless they are taking lots of shared paternity leave!) wouldn't have to think like this /wouldn't be feeling guilty! You've been promoted on your merit which would have happened if you were pregnant or not so the timing is just one of those things!

CaptinKitty · 04/03/2024 11:30

Gosh time in the first trimester is such a drag. I’m 6 + 2 today, but it feels like a lifetime since we actually tested! I know you should never wish your life away, but I want the next few weeks to hurry up so we can get to the 12 week and beyond mark.

Im also feeling very conscious of what I’m eating/craving. I was on ozempic/Wegovy prior to getting pregnant and lost 4 stone over the last year on it. Trying really hard to focus on portion control and high protein food because the last thing I want is to undo all that progress. Feels so odd to have my brain suddenly start to notice food again and have the ‘ooooh I defo fancy that right now’ feeling after having it turned off for the best part of a year!

Another thing I’ve noticed is that I suddenly also have a really INTENSE love for the first born. Obviously love him to the moon and back usually, but it’s like the pregnancy has ramped up all that maternal energy and all I want to do is snuggle him and kiss him ALL THE TIME. I left for work yesterday morning and he was just waving to me from the sofa whilst eating a banana and my heart literally hurt at having to leave him.

mrssunshinexxx · 04/03/2024 13:00

@CluelessInLondon hi thanks for asking only small amount of old blood since and still mega mega nauseous just getting worse if anything so think all is ok. No I'll wait for 12 week scan I think x

spudnik1 · 04/03/2024 13:40

@CDD I thought mine was going to be bad at 9 years !

HotCrossBunnyInTheOven · 04/03/2024 14:02

I hope everyone is doing well!
It's nice to see all of the good scan news. I've booked a private scan for the end of next week when I will be 7wks.
I feel miles behind everyone else and time is going so slowly!

I haven't heard anything about my booking yet but I'm keen to get the 12 week scan booked asap as being an older mum I'm hoping they offer me the blood tests.

As for age gaps, my eldest will be 23, my youngest 11 when this one arrives 😬
With a few in-between! I'm not sure how they will take the news tbh. They will probably laugh and think I'm joking 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm still not feeling any sickness but I still have sore boobs and I have had a headache every single day for over 2 weeks now, it's starting to become a little tiresome!

FlyOnTheWall89 · 04/03/2024 14:09

@HotCrossBunnyInTheOven I'm around the same as you then I think, or a tad ahead but not much! First day of my last period was Jan 23rd. My daughter has just 1 so my periods haven't regulated yet so not entirely sure but going for a scan in a week ish ...

HotCrossBunnyInTheOven · 04/03/2024 14:14

@FlyOnTheWall89 ooh yes you should be 2 days ahead of me then as mine was the 25th! I'm currently 5+4 and due on the 31st so only just make it in here.

If this one is anything like the others I'll definitely be having a November baby, none of mine have arrived early or on time!

CluelessInLondon · 04/03/2024 14:26

@mrssunshinexxx That is good news, hopefully it was just a one-off and no more bleeding to worry you over the next few weeks.

@cm3212 Hope everything goes okay at your appointment tomorrow and that it turns out to be nothing to worry about.

@CaptinKitty You're absolutely right, the first trimester does totally drag - and it's so weird to think that by the time you tell people you're pregnant, you're already a third of the way through the whole thing! I'm going to be 10 weeks this week so it's crazy to think the first 12 weeks is actually somewhere close to being over...

That’s mine too. But I know I ovulated 5 days later than predicted so I’m probably going to look like im behind that!

Nic2908 · 04/03/2024 15:20

Major tmi folks. But is anyone having a problem with pee? I feel like I leak a small amount multiple times a day. I’m going to have to start wearing a liner at this rate

OP posts:
CluelessInLondon · 04/03/2024 15:26

@Nic2908 Is it definitely pee and not discharge? I definitely had an increase in watery discharge when I got to around 8 weeks, it was yellowish in colour which made me wonder if it was urine but it didn't have any smell at all to it. Could be something similar?

WickWood · 04/03/2024 15:26

@Nic2908
I haven't noticed that, but I'm having absolutely horrendous diarrhea, not every day, maybe 3 or 4 times a week. Is this related to hormones, is anyone else experiencing this?

Anonymously18 · 04/03/2024 15:33

Hi guys, a few days ago I took a test and it was negative with no line whatsoever. The next day, in the first photo I took the top test in the morning and the bottom strip test in the afternoon. Then a day later I took the clear blue in the second photo. Are these positive or are they evap lines pls help I’m so confused! Xx

HotCrossBunnyInTheOven · 04/03/2024 15:33

@Nic2908 unfortunately I have this issue but mostly due to the hacking cough I've had for the last three weeks. Doesn't go well with my weak bladder 😭

I'm dreading getting huge because it doesn't bode well!! I'm frantically doing my pelvic floor exercises

HotCrossBunnyInTheOven · 04/03/2024 15:35

@WickWood I'm having the opposite issue. I think it's down to the iron in the tablets I'm taking though.
Hopefully all the hormones settle down and you'll be back to normal soon 🤞🏻

SELE97 · 04/03/2024 15:40

@HotCrossBunnyInTheOven we're at the same stage! I'm 5 + 4 and due on the 31st October also. Although I'll be having a planned C Section so should be having baby in October. Did all your babies arrive after their due date?

HotCrossBunnyInTheOven · 04/03/2024 15:43

@SELE97 hello due date buddy!

Yes all of mine have been late, from 2 days to 8 days. Longest 8 days of my life 😂

I've been very lucky and had all natural births, I'm just hoping this one goes the same way!

WickWood · 04/03/2024 16:13

@Anonymously18
I can faintly see lines, can you try a clear blue 6 day early test?

@HotCrossBunnyInTheOven
Thanks, I hope so too!

FlyOnTheWall89 · 04/03/2024 16:49

@SELE97 similar to me and I'll be having a planned c sec after first emergency c sec with my daughter!
