@FlyOnTheWall89 oh good, how long did it take you to recover from your emergency C Section ? Im a bit worried about recovery time as my partner works away Monday-Thursday so it'll just be me and baby. Although he is planning to have 3 weeks off (2 weeks paternity leave and 1 weeks annual leave) so should be fine.

lpylou · 04/03/2024 18:00

I am having an elected c-section after emergency one last time. Recovery was fine, after the first week I felt good to go.

At first it's hard as you can twist and lift so night feeding was a challenge, my husband needed to hand him to me and I didn't babywear for a while although you can do I think, I was worried about it aggregating the scar.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 04/03/2024 19:27

@SELE97 recovery was totally fine. My husband had 2 weeks off and we lived on the third floor, no lift. I was out for a good walk and lunch on day 12, walking shorter distances before that and out for lunch. Just never miss your meds! I'm electing this time because of how smoothly I felt recovery was last time. I did go to see a private pelvic health physio twice to just check my scar etc and my ab separation - that was worth it!

Bee49 · 04/03/2024 19:57

@SELE97 recovery after my emergency c-section was great. I was walking the dog the day I got out on day 2 and running again at 5 weeks. I unfortunately didn’t have anyone to pass the baby to me in the hospital during the night (midwives were just too busy) so I had to get on with it. Moving definitely helped recovery!

Sara1988 · 04/03/2024 19:59

Sad to hear of so many people worried about telling work- makes me mad there are employers making staff unable to feel safe in their jobs.

I told hr almost immediately because I was so sick. I also work in a busy secondary school so work needed to be aware of risks.

KStar1404 · 04/03/2024 20:27

@Sara1988 out of interest how far along were you when you told school? I’m also a secondary school teacher and very nearly 7 weeks and wondering whether to tell school as the nausea has started to really kick in - is making me a bit anxious as I haven’t been sick (yet) but I move classrooms a lot and the bathrooms are really far away…

Hi guys, a few days ago I took a test and it was negative with no line whatsoever. The next day, in the first photo I took the top test in the morning and the bottom strip test in the afternoon. Then a day later I took the clear blue in the second photo. Are these positive or are they evap lines pls help I’m so confused! Xx

I can see a faint line on the two tests in the plastic casings but not on the strip test. Do you have any early result tests you could take? Xx

I forgot to update on here after my scan on Friday.

We saw babies heartbeat and all is fine and measuring 6 weeks (i was only 6+3) but she was new and said baby growing as should be.

Couldn't find a cause for the bleeding but said its normal.
I did have a bit of blood last night and this morning, very faint so i am not too phased by it.

In regards to the other questions, i will have a 5 year age gap.

Fab news!! Glad all was well ❤️

What a world of emotions this journey is guys!

Had an early scan last week, saw a heartbeat and measured 5+2.. but had some light bleeding in last 24hrs .. spoke to GP & got an app at my epau tomorrow so hoping everything is ok! The bleeding has stopped now so hoping it's one of those things!

Can see a couple of other people have had the same .. ❤️

Now for the 28hour wait for my scan 😬😬

Hope it all goes well ❤️ xxx

Gosh time in the first trimester is such a drag. I’m 6 + 2 today, but it feels like a lifetime since we actually tested! I know you should never wish your life away, but I want the next few weeks to hurry up so we can get to the 12 week and beyond mark.

Im also feeling very conscious of what I’m eating/craving. I was on ozempic/Wegovy prior to getting pregnant and lost 4 stone over the last year on it. Trying really hard to focus on portion control and high protein food because the last thing I want is to undo all that progress. Feels so odd to have my brain suddenly start to notice food again and have the ‘ooooh I defo fancy that right now’ feeling after having it turned off for the best part of a year!

Another thing I’ve noticed is that I suddenly also have a really INTENSE love for the first born. Obviously love him to the moon and back usually, but it’s like the pregnancy has ramped up all that maternal energy and all I want to do is snuggle him and kiss him ALL THE TIME. I left for work yesterday morning and he was just waving to me from the sofa whilst eating a banana and my heart literally hurt at having to leave him.

It does feel like a lifetime doesn't it!! I'm 6+1 and feels like we've known forever and a day.

With regards to ozempic, I can kind of relate there as I've had a gastric bypass 18 months ago and lost 12st 9lbs and I'm sooo worried about regaining weight xxx

Hi lovely, unfortunately the cheaper test are all I can afford at the minute, I’m dying to know if this is the start of something wonderful xx

SELE97 · 04/03/2024 20:45

@lpylou oh that's good to hear, I was planning on baby wearing and was wondering how the C section scar would impact this.

@FlyOnTheWall89 oh good I'm glad you had a good recovery. I have a health condition and have been recommended by my specialists in the past to opt for C section which I'm happy to do as I feel vaginal birth would be dangerous for me and the baby due to my health condition. That's a good tip, I might look into a private physio as I know a few people who have done this.

@Bee49 that's definitely something I've worried about while staying in hospital. I'm high risk so feel the hospital will keep me in longer than I would like, and the thought of relying on the midwife's to pass me my baby really worried me as I know how busy they are. I wish my partner could stay in but I don't think that's an option. That's interesting to know that that helped with your recovery though

lpylou · 04/03/2024 20:53

@SELE97 to be honest baby wearing was not for me at all. I have naturally big boobs and from the minute I found out I was pregnant they ballooned, to the point where I had to buy an entire new wardrobe for our baby moon, not for my bump because everything fit around that, but nothing fitted my boobs. I cried many tears over it as they were just enormous. When I gave birth they became EVEN bigger, full of milk, bursting at the seams. I just hated having my swollen gigantic boobs and a Carrier and a baby, and my bloated/scarred tummy. I found it so uncomfortable but I also had a stupid carrier which didn't support baby head.

I'm going to try again as it's so much easier than a buggy, this time, 10 weeks in, I'm delighted that my boobs are reasonable!!! So funny how different two pregnancies can be. Hurrah! May it continue!! And no stupid carrier as I bought a good one, albeit too late as he grew straight out of it.

I told hr three days after I found out (so 5 weeks) I had to take three days off because I was so ill (has eased thankfully) and just couldn't see how I was going to teach.

Really pleased I did as have had an outbreak of measles and hr told me immediately which students had it. We also had a fight which usually I'd be expected to intervene in as senior member of staff.

mrssunshinexxx · 04/03/2024 21:11

@Bee49 definitely agree moving helps after section. I just cannot decide what to do this time in terms of mode of birth,

Ahh all this sling chat making me think fondly of having my first daughter and feeding her in the sling whilst baking brownies . Now i want brownies 😂

Joey2011 · 04/03/2024 21:35

I had my early scan tonight. We have made a blob! 🤣 All looking good and spot on what I thought at 7weeks. With a healthy heartbeat 💓
I'm so glad I had a early scan. Made it feel more real. Even with all the nausea and boob pain 😊

Sara1988 · 04/03/2024 21:39

@Joey2011 amazing isn't it! We had one last week and it was so worth it. Congratulations!

CluelessInLondon · 04/03/2024 21:45

@Joey2011 How wonderful! Glad to see everything is looking good. ☺️

mrssunshinexxx · 04/03/2024 21:50

Ah how lovely @Joey2011

LuxeBiscuit · 04/03/2024 23:01

@Sara1988 completely agree. It's sad that women should be celebrating good news but have to worry about the impact on their careers.

LuxeBiscuit · 04/03/2024 23:08

I popped into boots today to get sickness bands. I thought the sick feeling I had at 5/6 weeks would continue but the entirety of yesterday was spent feeling like I just stepped off a rollercoaster. I think I see the difference between normal nausea and morning sickness - it's all encompassing.

mrssunshinexxx · 05/03/2024 06:40

Is anyone on any meds for nausea and would recommend/ are they working well? I'm really struggling

Sunandsea13 · 05/03/2024 06:45

Anyone had a transabdominal scan at 7 weeks? Don’t want to get a TV scan! @Joey2011 congratulations! Was it a transabdominal or TV scan?

FlyOnTheWall89 · 05/03/2024 06:46

What vitamin is everyone taking? I'm just taking folic acid, Vit D and Floradix at the moment. Pregnacare made my morning sickness so much worse with my daughter. I have an excellent all round diet but would like to take something else... has anyone tried the Wild Nutrition before?

mrssunshinexxx · 05/03/2024 07:00

@FlyOnTheWall89 just folic and vit d
