Seems we got to the end of a thread. Not sure if a new one has been set up.

@YellowHedgehog Have you had a telephone appointment with your midwife at all??

All I have had is a telephone appointment and then have not contact with them until my dating scan in march. Then my next apt with my midwife after that are booked in for the first and last week of April

Nervous764367 · 01/03/2024 06:36

Sorry if it’s tmi…but are you all continuing to be sexually active?
Im having raunchy dreams & really want to but I’ve been too scared.

Am I being crazy?

mrssunshinexxx · 01/03/2024 06:57

@Nervous764367 yes still having sex always have right up until the end usually desperate to try get baby out that way there's something in sperm that softens the cervix or something at the end ?! X

Ellenn · 01/03/2024 07:31

@October73 thanks for asking! Has been quite a stressful week but managed to get another scan at EPU yesterday too and embryo still growing nicely and looking great! I’m still measuring at 7+2 when I should be 7+4 wks but they don’t seem too concerned. Also seem to be getting nausea hitting me randomly at the early hours of the morning 🤷‍♀️

how are you doing? Sorry to hear about your miscarriage scare, did you manage to get a scan? Are you at a similar stage? xxx

@Nervous764367 its definitley a no from me as I’m paranoid 🙈 lol poor partner is like will it happen ever again 🤣 think will wait till 2nd trimester for me!

October73 · 01/03/2024 07:48

@Ellenn ah that’s such good news!!! Sorry to hear that it’s been quite stressful.

I’ve been bleeding and a bit of cramping for 2 weeks, last Friday I was measuring 5 days behind (6+3) when I should have been 7+1. Wasn’t feeling optimistic… Anyway had another scan yesterday at 8 weeks exactly and everything has caught up and looked perfect. They could see my source of bleeding and said it looks like it’s healing so 🤞🤞🤞🤞 Xxx

Nic2908 · 29/02/2024 21:32

@KittyFantastica did they not give you any hope at all? I’m so sorry.

It was a private scan, so they're not supposed to diagnose anything. The image is very clear though. The yolk sac is there, but it's completely empty. When they write 'embryo absent', I don't think there's any coming back from that, sadly. I know exactly when I ovulated. The baby stopped growing 8 days ago.

mrssunshinexxx · 01/03/2024 08:05

Ladies please help I've just had like 6 blobs of fresh red blood in my pants and when I wiped there was stringy/ clotted very very dark brown / black. Does this mean the worse ? I'm 5+ 5 my EPU is from 6 weeks

mrssunshinexxx · 01/03/2024 08:21

Community midwife phone is off and you have to be referred to EPU there isn't a number

Mitsky · 01/03/2024 08:30

@Nervous764367 nope! I’m too nervous.

@KittyFantastica so sorry to hear that, sending you lots of love

YellowHedgehog · 01/03/2024 08:34

@CDD Didn't even know phone appointments were a thing! First pregnancy so pretty clueless what to expect. When I first contacted my GP they said I need to come in and fill in a form and then had to self refer myself. Had a call from midwife last week but missed it as I was working and they simply left a message to attend the surgery to see the midwife. I called back just to see if I could change the time as my appointment is bang on in the middle of my shift but couldn't and she didn't ask any questions about the pregnancy. So all I can really do now is wait.

CluelessInLondon · 01/03/2024 08:42

@mrssunshinexxx Could you call your GP practice this morning and ask about referring you to EPU? Or you can probably get in via A&E, but I would only suggest that if you're bleeding very heavily as you would almost certainly have a long wait. I really hope things are okay. ❤

mrssunshinexxx · 01/03/2024 08:48

Currently on hold to GP @CluelessInLondon I really hope so too thanks x

Nic2908 · 01/03/2024 08:59

@mrssunshinexxx yoh could always try 111 too as another option? Sending you lots of hope and luck

Thanks for the help. I have a scan today at 2.30pm.
The bleeding did stop.. just been and had a tiny bit of pink again on wiping.
Now just counting down the hours..

The woman was a bit rude to me on the phone, i said i had pink bleeding etc.. and said i can't be 6+2 and i said i do not have 28 day cycles so yes i am. Then she said well you're not really bleeding are you.

Gosh where is the support 🙄pink blood is still bleeding to me and a concern for myself!

mrssunshinexxx · 01/03/2024 09:53

No one will do anything til Monday when I'm 6+1 going to be a long weekend

Blako90 · 01/03/2024 11:47

Hello!
Joining the thread! Going for an early scan tomorrow 😬 absolutely bricking it.

CluelessInLondon · 01/03/2024 11:50

@YellowHedgehog Will your EPU see you because of the spotting? Some will just say to monitor it to see if it gets worse but some will bring you in for a scan if there's any bleeding.

@Nervous764367 I've been ultra-cautious and haven't had sex since finding out - I know it can't do any harm, but I also know that if I see any sign of bleeding I'll freak out and spotting after sex is quite common in pregnancy so I've felt more comfortable avoiding sex for now. I've also been ridiculously tired at night for the last couple of weeks so definitely not in the mood! You definitely can though, if you want to.

@Ellenn @October73 Lovely news about both of your scans!

@KittyFantastica Has the private clinic referred you to the EPU for a confirmatory scan? If they have I hope it doesn't take too long for them to book you in.

@Strawbs92 Sorry to hear you didn't get much sympathy or support - I think sometimes the people who deal with these things all the time forget that even if it turns out to be nothing to worry about, it is a really big deal and really scary for the person experiencing it. Keeping fingers crossed for you for your scan this afternoon. ❤

@mrssunshinexxx Do you have to call up again on Monday to get booked in with the EPU? Hopefully the bleeding will stop over the weekend.

I had my reassurance scan at the EGU this morning - everything looking good, baby measuring 9+1 so still a day behind my dates but exactly two weeks' growth since my last scan a fortnight ago. Can't believe how much it looks like an actual baby now rather than just a misshapen blob, and it was even waving at us! EDD has been adjusted to 3rd October for now and I'm discharged from the EGU so just have to wait for my dating scan - hoping I might actually relax a little bit now and start to believe I'm really having a baby... Also had my midwife booking appointment right after - had to quickly neck a load of juice and water to make sure I was able to give a urine sample after having to pee before my scan. 😂

Itsasomething · 01/03/2024 11:57

Also had a scan this morning with EPU, and they confirmed that it's definitely not ectopic and everything is is the right place! (Breathes huge sigh of relief!) -bit too early to see much else, so back for another one in a couple of weeks.
I remember I had a bad experience with EPU over the phone last year, they were much nicer in person!

Nervous764367 · 01/03/2024 12:27

@CluelessInLondon this is so lovely to read. I’m so glad everything went well ❤️ x

mrssunshinexxx · 01/03/2024 12:31

That's great news @CluelessInLondon if I don't have any more bleeding of significance over the weekend I won't go for a scan no, there's a chance it's still too soon to see a heartbeat and that would really stress me out xx

LuxeBiscuit · 01/03/2024 13:21

@CluelessInLondon I was waiting for your update. Fantastic news - I believe you've also passed the point that you were concerned about so it must feel great.

Sunandsea13 · 01/03/2024 14:00

Also had some spotting - not even sure if it classes as that but had a tiny bit of blood in discharge last night and nothing since. Had a panic and called the 24/7 mat unit and they said it’s normal where it’s not a lot of blood etc. could also be from my ectropian but still so horrible to see! Have a scan on Tuesday when I will be around 7-7.5 weeks so praying it’s all okay

CluelessInLondon · 01/03/2024 14:06

@Itsasomething That's good news, even if it's early on there is something reassuring about knowing that everything is in the right place first and foremost. Fingers crossed you can see more on your next scan.

@mrssunshinexxx Keeping everything crossed for you that the bleeding is a one-off and it stops soon.

@LuxeBiscuit Thank you. ❤And yes, this week was the big one - I was 9+1 last time when my miscarriage was confirmed (although baby was always measuring behind and had probably stopped developing several days earlier) so to get to 9+2 and see that everything is exactly as it should be is such a huge relief. How are you getting on?

@Sunandsea13 Fingers crossed for you that the spotting doesn't get any worse - it happens to lots of people so hopefully it's nothing to worry about and you can get some reassurance at your scan next week.
