Seems we got to the end of a thread. Not sure if a new one has been set up.

@Willow2023 @hopingforapeainapod Haha love it 😂 I've been sooo tempted to tell my mum but we want our little girl to be the first to know - and we don't want to tell her too early in case anything happens xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 27/02/2024 04:54

Tentatively joining! Due end of October, 1st Nov... not entirely sure as I've only had 2 irregular cycles as still breastfeeding my daughter who just turned 1. It took us a while to conceive baby 1, so we are so so happy to have not had to go through a long period of trying again. Keeping everything crossed. I did a test yesterday which had progressed to 2-3 weeks 🙏🏻

IsLarryFromSomething · 27/02/2024 05:46

I was so emotional last night and this morning I have woken up with breasts that feel so painful and swollen that I'm wondering if people will notice 😬It's probably only in my head but I think I'm going to wear a loose top today haha.

mrssunshinexxx · 27/02/2024 07:31

Anyone got any recommendations for insomnia ? I had it in last tri with my 2nd pregnancy and didn't take anything for it but this is started so early and it's already driving me mad ! I've read about magnesium?

Oct24 · 27/02/2024 07:34

@mrssunshinexxx I'm opting for afternoon naps. My toddler still has a nap and I figure if ever there was a time to follow the advice 'sleep when the baby sleeps,' this is it!

mrssunshinexxx · 27/02/2024 07:39

Sadly mine don't nap 😂 @Oct24

Willow2023 · 27/02/2024 08:37

@FlyOnTheWall89 congratulations!
It's lovely 2 so close to together. My two are about a year and a half apart, now teens and still super close

How are you feeling? Xx

tryforbabynumber2 · 27/02/2024 08:47

Congratulations @FlyOnTheWall89! ❤️ xxx

CluelessInLondon · 27/02/2024 09:42

Morning ladies, how is everyone feeling today? Just catching up on posts from yesterday afternoon (I decided to have a few hours on the sofa as felt SO wiped out, can't believe how tired I was!), and it's kind of reassuring in a strange way to see that I'm not the only one feeling anxious and worrying that maybe something has gone wrong without me realising it. It sucks that we have to feel that way, and especially the way that previous losses take the excitement out of pregnancy, but it feels like there's some solidarity and understanding on this thread and I find that so helpful. ❤

@GingerCactus Good luck for your scan today!

@ChyLL Sorry to see that the tests are still stressing you out - fingers crossed it is just some dodgy test strips that don't have much dye in them. It's good that you've got the bloods sorted though, that will give you a lot more certainty. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

@FlyOnTheWall89 Welcome and congratulations. 😊

tryforbabynumber2 · 27/02/2024 09:46

@CluelessInLondon You're not alone in feeling wiped out, I am absolutely exhausted. I'm finding it difficult to work because I'm so fatigued but obviously nobody knows yet so it's a difficult one 😩

Also I'm only 5+2 and I'm already producing colostrum/milk?! Anyone else? This is my second pregnancy so I don't know if that affects things but it seems very early for this to be happening? xxx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 27/02/2024 09:46

@Willow2023 yes exactly - I know we will be in the trenches for a bit but I'm super grateful. I feel totally fine to be honest. I looked back at when I started feeling sick with my daughter and I think I've probably got another 10 days or so of being okay. I plan to go for an early scan in a few weeks. Then it will feel real!

ChyLL · 27/02/2024 10:13

Thank you @CluelessInLondon I’ve had so many mixed messages and find so many different things online that I thought getting bloods is the best way to know for sure.
Im so tired today.. I have a 2.5 year old so I'm
usually quite tired but today I woke up feeling like I hadn’t slept. Probably just all worry making me have an unsettled sleep.

GingerCactus · 27/02/2024 10:24

Thank you @CluelessInLondon I’m super nervous and feeling very negative today which isn’t ideal. It’s an earlier scan than I’d like but my anxiety couldn’t take it any longer!

@ChyLL if it helps, I’ve been using different strips including mom med, amazons own etc and I found them all different, vastly. Some I found gave a lighter response at FMU versus about 11am, others took ages to show anything etc. so I think there is huge inconsistency. Hopefully your bloods will give you a much more accurate picture. I’ve got everything crossed for you!

Strawbs92 · 27/02/2024 10:35

Hi all,

I have been an active lurker on this thread as no one else knows except my husband!

I hit 6 weeks today and i am so anxious as it has taken us 3.5 years to get here and i don't feel very pregnant.

I do need to pee more, i do get tired more (not everyday) and bloating (think as it's my second i am bloating more?)

I have an early scan next week through the hospital due to being in the fertility clinic. I just worry i haven't got enough symptoms or anything can happen, as its taken so long to get here i am just very anxious.

Sorry to ramble.

tryforbabynumber2 · 27/02/2024 10:40

@Strawbs92 congratulations ❤️ I think it's normal for symptoms to sort of ramp up after week 6 to be honest - lots of people don't get nausea etc until that point. We expect to feel really pregnant as soon as we get the positive test but in reality for most women it's not until a bit later that the symptoms show up.

This is my second baby and I'm definitely noticing more bloating this time - it almost looks like I'm already showing but I'm only 5+2 so definitely bloating. Apparently you do show earlier in subsequent pregnancies though! Pic attached of my belly today for reference xx

Thanks @GingerCactus I should have just stuck with the same brand but me being impatient just ordered some for next day delivery on Amazon and at the same time I appear to have ordered myself some next day delivery anxiety at the same time 🥴🤦🏼‍♀️!!

just had blood test number number and keeping everything crossed.

I hope you’re doing ok ♥️

Congratulations 🤗you are not that far behind me!

Yes, that's what my bloating is like too! I am having to wear stretchy leggings more so for comfort due to the bloat!

Definitely makes a lot of sense, strange how our minds work doesn't it! Hope you are keeping well ❤

tryforbabynumber2 · 27/02/2024 10:56

@Strawbs92 Leggings are life right now hahaha 😂 I've got a feeling maternity clothes will be needed sooner with this pregnancy. I didn't start showing until about 18-20 weeks with my first but I imagine it'll be sooner this time.

I'm doing well aside from being sooo tired, weeing a lot, bloating and sore boobs. How are you feeling xxx

KittyFantastica · 27/02/2024 11:01

Hi @Strawbs92, I'm also 6+1 today, and I'm worried as I have no particularly strong symptoms either.

I've had bloating since four weeks, and over the weekend I had too very suddenly and painful cramps, but if I hadn't already done tests I'd have no idea I am pregnant. I've read so many things about this being just as normal for some as the horrific symptoms, but it doesn't stop the worrying.

Just wanted you to know you're not alone :).

Congratulations! Sounds similar to me, I have had those cramp type pains as well. Yes same here! Isn't it strange? I am glad i am not the only one.

Are you waiting till your 12 week scan or having an early scan?

Completely agree 😂

I was about the same first time round! It really does show no 2 pregnancies are the same!

Ahh bless you! The soreness must be so painful!

I just feel tired on/off, need to wee a lot, bloating and i get itchy boobs sometimes! xx

CluelessInLondon · 27/02/2024 11:29

@Strawbs92 Welcome and congratulations! 😊

Pretty sure it is true about second pregnancies showing much more quickly - one of my friends had to cancel loads of social plans in the first trimester when she was expecting her second because her tummy basically popped out straight away and it was really obvious she was pregnant but she didn't want people to know yet!

ButterflySkies · 27/02/2024 11:57

Welcome @Strawbs92 im the same as you and @KittyFantastica :) the bloating is real - i feel huge! Ive had a couple of days of sicky when ive been exhausted but to be honest i feel absolutely fine this week - it's really peculiar!

Pleased I booked a reassurance scan, my NHS one is at 13+2!! Midwives confirmed my booking appt too so I'm a long time until I see anyone!

Assuming - hoping - all goes well I have no idea how I'm going to hide this until about 15 weeks from work....!

GiantRoadPuzzle · 27/02/2024 13:28

Urgh I feel awful, I def don’t remember feeling this sick this early on in my first pregnancy.

Think I’m 5 weeks tomorrow, and currently spending my lunch break napping at home under a blanket. Feeling really nauseous and cold!

KittyFantastica · 27/02/2024 15:22

I did have a scan booked for Sunday @Strawbs92, but we are considering booking with a different company who will do them a bit earlier and going on Thursday. At this point, I just need to know whether there is something in there and what to prepare ourselves for.

I still haven't heard from anyone despite self referring nearly two weeks ago now @ButterflySkies How long did it take them to get back to you and arrange your appointments? Last time, they called in four days after referral. I'm really disappointed in the system, it's terrible if you have concerns and want to speak to someone for reassurance. Horrible system.
